Finished the Fight!

My current 360 is an arcade model with an internal memory card thingie. I also have the hard drive from my original 360, bought so many aeons ago. Therefore, everytime I load up Reach it asks me which of the two memory devices I want to use. So it could be doable, right? Or could a stunt like that mess up my overall campaign progress/commendations?

You can do it provided the arcade is capable of saving game saves. I have 3 360's. One of them I kept at my girl's place and the other 2 at my place. When this situation would present itself (particularly with a LASO weekly and campaign daily's) I would do the LASO at either her or my place. If I haven't finished, I could do the campaign daily's on the other 360. If the arcade can't save campaign progress, I suggest you find a friend to do this week's weekly. I know how frustrating it can be to make significant progress on a LASO challenge and then have to start over.

My arcade unit has a 190MB internal memory. And I also have a standard 360 HDD. When Reach loads the first thing it asks me is which drive I want to use. I did the weekly challenge using my internal memory, while my Exodus LASO run was safely stored in the standard HDD. My campaign progress and commendations are unaffected because apparently this data is stored elsewhere (my 360's GT profile or B.net profile?). Therefore, anytime I want to have two different campaign games for challenges and whatnot, all I have to do is switch drives upon loading. I profusely thank MathGuy42 for this tip. I guess anyone can do the same if they use a flashdrive as a secondary device.

As for the weekly challenge, trust me, New Alexandria is possibly one of the easiest and fastest ways to do it. Just turn on most skulls, crank it up to Legendary and kill any purple UFO and nothing else for 15 minutes and you'll be set. If you go low on health just set down on Club Errera (after turning on the switches), grab a health pack and if you feel like it kill the brutes and everything else inside the club.

Exodus LASO is going to suck. IT BETTER HAVE A GOOD CREDIT PAYOUT = 20+k CREDITS, OR I WON'T EVEN TRY!

Any tips?

I wouldn't get my hopes up considering LNoS was only 14k

I highly doubt Exodus will be worth more since LNoS is the hardest level.

GT: The Depleted

Really really really not looking forward to doing Exodus again, I failed so many times in so many ways before I beat it the first time. I don't want to resort to save and quit, but if there's one mission that will make me it's Exodus. Oddly enough, so far the only mission I've re-done successfully on the first attempt is LNoS. Go figure!

Yeah, Exodus LASO sucks. I thought the damn dirty apes would make things easier but not by much. The landing pad is definitely the one major chokepoint of the mission and getting there and taking care of the Chieftain using the available jetpack skips/tricks will be the make or break point for some folks. I finished it yesterday but made my last save right on the ending cutscene, so I hope I do get the challenge the moment I load the game.

Exodus is easy, aside from running out of ammo in the first battle. >:[

If Pillar of Autumn and The Package are less then 20,000 cR, then it is pointless in doing them.

Er...not a good thing to say that here. Mythic Conquerors do these for the challenge, not the credits. Or so they'd like us to believe; me, I think they're all not quite right in the head. :p

See? They're all crazy. :p

It's "easy" if you're flawless with the Scorpion at the beginning and avoid those pesky Banshees and crazy fuel rod blasts of doom. "Easy" also if you succesfully kill each and every one of those Elites inside Sword Base with little damage to yourself. "Easy" also if you succesfully jack those Wraiths at the end and exhibit flawless aim trying to kill adamantium-laced Covies with that rather inaccurate and suddenly very wimpy plasma mortar. Especially that last one. Because if you don't jack the Wraiths, that battle would be pretty much impossible.

While I make no claim to sanity (god knows I lost that long ago) Leumas is right. The Package is, compared to the other levels, fairly easy.

You start off against grunts and unshielded jackals with a DMR; the anti-grunt and anti-jackal weapon. With the tank, you can stay fairly far back and shell things safely from a distance, taking your time to figure out your aim. With the ghost you can skip the entire courtyard and motor pool fight and then you face more jackals, with tons of DMR ammo in crates nearby and a few healthpacks to boot. The invisible elites have such weak shields you could practically do that part with just a DMR, so the 100% plasma pistols lying around just before them are almost unnecessary. The general, similarly, stands still for you to kill at your leisure. In addition, you have your teammates to serve as bait. After that you get the jetpack and can easily nab a banshee (there's a couple good spots to stand and wait for them) and with the banshee it's trivial to jack a wraith. Once you have the wraith, same deal with the scorpion. Just take your time and clear the best path you can back to where you started, then you can basically just rain down blue death from there for the rest of the mission.

A big factor is that there's a lot less randomness in the Package. Enemies will be pretty much the same, and we rely on no luck-based events like grunt placement (LNoS' Bridge) or the off chance a banshee fires a banshee bomb (PoA's Mass Driver).

Also, for the record, it's entirely possible to beat the mission sans-wraith. It's been done before. The wraith just makes that final area much faster and easier to deal with.

Yeah? Considering the devotion of you all for this craziness, I've little choice but to believe you. Would love to see a flick of that though.

I believe it was Shadow, but I can't be 100% sure. It was before we discovered the banshee hijack + wraith hijack method. Whoever it was stood on the roof above Noble team, crouched, and used a DMR and plasma pistol to take out enemies as they gathered in front.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,

It has been done before. Keep in mind that I was the first in the world to beat Package on Mythic and it was without the Wraith :-)

I used a Banshee to destroy the Wraith (not even considering hijacking an option at the time), and just stood around on top of the overhang killing Covies while Noble Team took care of the rest. Needless to say, that battle lasted well over an hour.

I remember when you were saying you finally beat The Package, Tyrant, and I queued your film for download, watched it, and got the level done on my second attempt. Good times.

Pew. Pewpewpewpew. YAAAAYY!

I've done all of them so far, and other than the time it takes I've been enjoying it. Exe. is going to be a monster, though not near as bad as LNoS.

There's a lot of fighting in Exe. that you have to do to advance the level. On Pilliar, there's a lot of advancing you can do and I do it well.

No it's not:

"Discard the protective rags of that vice which you call a virtue: humility-learn to value yourself, which means: to fight for your happiness-and when you learn that pride is the sum of all virtues, you will learn to live like a man...Humility is not a recognition of one's failings, but a rejection of morality. 'I am no good' is a statement that may be uttered only in the past tense. To say: 'I am no good' is to declare: '-and I never intend to be any better.'"

-Ayn Rand

What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, Mythic difficulty.

My point is that this week's challenge is worth more than half of the SLASO LNOS challenge; is this week's challenge more than half as hard as LNOS on SLASO?

Bungie thinks so.
