Congrats, Aura! It's funny how close your now-total time of 4.5 hours is to JUST your old PoA run lol. Great improvement.

That was a great run, RC. I agree that your sniping was superb, although the fact that you put a blutac on your screen ruins some of the excitement for me.

Grenade+jetpack jump was cool, although I wonder if Michael's way of going up behind, assassinating the FRG Chieftain, and rocketing the smithereens out of everything would be faster (if slightly more dangerous).

And daaaaaamn that mongoose run at the end was ballsy, whether it was luck or skill, I was on the edge of my seat right up until the end cutscene.

So now that we are under 3 hours... shoot for 2? lol

Ah well... I'm bad enough at sniping WITH the blu-tack usually. And when some of them are running? Yeah, you can probably guess how many failed runs there were where I wasted the whole thing...

Agreed on the more dangerous part. I tried that a couple of times and got cut up quite badly. Probably worth investigation though.

Always a bit of both on things like that. I knew the route was possible and picked it because it had a reasonable chance of success. The original plan was to drive straight up to the nearest rockface of the second battery and camo my way up the side, but the wraith under the bridge was hitting me with its mortor or splattering me/ the mongoose too regularly for my tastes. Going up around the side near that jackal was the last alteration I made to the route before landing it.

EDIT: And my heart was freakin' pounding for the last 5 minutes of that run.

What do you mean? The segmented legendary run? Or the Halo in 77 project? Both are under 77.

Also, 77 minutes sounds pretty insane for just Legendary (I think we'll have a time of around 2 hours once we get runs for all levels), let alone Mythic!

Don't be silly. You're not wrong because nobody is agreeing with you, you're wrong because your points are weak and poorly supported. The fact that people disagree with you is a symptom of being wrong, not the cause or the proof of it. Canary in the coal mine, so to speak.

Mythic is an absolute -blam!- to attempt, especially on certain levels (I struggled alone with Tip of the Spear for the LONGEST time) but the skills you get for clearing campaign levels on lower difficulties are SOOO worth it. When I started out playing Reach I struggled to beat the campaign on Heroic, and now I find it almost laughably easy. These guides and the skills they teach are pretty legit.

So I was doing some package mythic earlier trying to see how far I could lower my time. If my predictions are correct from my experiences in the level, the fastest I could probably get (without insane speedrun skips etc) my time down to would be around 28 minutes assuming everything went perfectly.

Aside from that, the level can't really be done any faster without really risking your ass every few seconds.

Yesterday I watched RC Master's New Alexandria and PoA videos. I'm curious about a few things.

On New Alexandria, what causes the sudden teleportation after shutting down the hospital jammer? Does it have to be done with a Banshee or is it due to the fact there is no Falcon on the landing pad? If the latter, it seems like you could land your Falcon near the edge, then push it off the building.

And what does momentarily jumping back into the Banshee do after deactivating the jammer?

On PoA, do all objects reset after the Keyes cut scene? I was just wondering what would happen if you crate-block the door to the mass driver area, before the cut scene. It seems like it would keep the first Zealot and Grunts from retreating, which might make them easier to kill. Especially if the Zealot is stuck facing away from you, like on LNoS.

Too bad there aren't any objects in the mass driver area until after the cut scene. That would be great to do the Concussion Rifle jump, then set things up inside. But at least in Theater mode, I couldn't see any objects to work with.

Also, earlier in the mission, what happens if you try to block open the door to the landing pad with some barrels? I suppose it can't be done for some reason, but it would be great to be able to go back for ammo or just retreat inside.

If no one has tried these things before, I'll give them a shot on Easy when I get a chance.

Exodus is actually one of my favorite Mythic levels; it's straightforward, when you break it down. The only really coin-toss part is the falcon ride.

Vader, I actually like TOTS. More so than Exodus. I used to hate TOTS too until I found the chain gun warthog on the second AA gun. :)

When the Mythic challenge comes around we all gather here to complain about the small payout, about the lack of the blind skull, before we all go and do it anyway. Tyrant then tells Bungie to up the payout for the next challenge. And then we get all indignant when the next challenge in two weeks is also low. The cycle then repeats.

Good times. :)

Because the area deloads around you. I think its a co-op safety net for when one partner is already outside.

And what does momentarily jumping back into the Banshee do after deactivating the jammer?
It triggers the deload. The game assumes you're back outside ready to go to the next objective. BUT you must get back out of the banshee otherwise the safety net won't activate and you'll be stuck in unconstructed dream, I mean, play space. Inside the outer shell geometry.

Dunno. Try it! The little wooden crates are often climbed by Grunts though. I'm not sure if there are any barrels around...

Actually I'm still complaining about the small payout for LNoS. Its simply not worth it to do it for real (i.e. without deaths).

Exodus is frustrating at some points yes, but I think the overall difficulty is lower than LNoS. 15k is getting there though.

If you're willing to Save and Quit (and need to do so, like me), Exodus might be more frustrating than LNoS because it seems like there are more enemies between certain Checkpoints. The two halves of the atrium fight and clearing the landing pad come to mind.

The Blind skull was required only for the Winter Contingency: LASO challenge; all other subsequent LASO challenges did not require Blind. Bungie likely responded to the complaints on the forums about the difficulty of true LASO.

I used your videos for todays challenge...the jump up to the frg brute and you 3 min run of the final section...saveeeed me haha.

I did a fail though...after I cleared the landing area I ran around looking for ammo and decided to jetpack over to the sniper to pick it up, as soon as I do I see a checkpoint and all the enemies I got to skip on the bottom spawned lol. So I had to jet pack back up the tower. haha

To mix things up a bit, I think I will try a pure Mythic run on New Alexandria...with the help of all available videos and a nice little piece of tape on my screen. Seems easier enough than previous missions, so maybe it'll be doable. The hospital and all those Elites at the bottom still scare the hell outta me though.
