The Blind skull was required only for the Winter Contingency: LASO challenge; all other subsequent LASO challenges did not require Blind. Bungie likely responded to the complaints on the forums about the difficulty of true LASO.
Posted by: P0werSQUIRRELY
In past LASO Challenge, it required all the skulls to be activated except for blind. Anyone know the why? Was it a mistake by Bungie?

This is correct. All the little kids -blam!-ed and moaned and Bungie threw them a bone... Which did nothing really as they still -blam!- and moan.

To mix things up a bit, I think I will try a pure Mythic run on New Alexandria...with the help of all available videos and a nice little piece of tape on my screen. Seems easier enough than previous missions, so maybe it'll be doable. The hospital and all those Elites at the bottom still scare the hell outta me though.

I've yet to see someone complete the side-objective with the engineers and the elites on the building near the night club.

Good luck!

I didn't beat the mission on that run (damn hospital pre-banshee skip) but I've beaten that objective on mythic before. It's really not as bad as people make it out to be.

While I was doing Mythic Contingency, some Grunt EMP'ed the Falcon, and then I though it was Game Over. So I screwed around via IWHBYD, and just used all of my ammo. I then hopped inside the Falcon, and Jun hopped in the cockpit. Needless to say, I am now at the Zealot area.

This is going to be one long video if I beat the Zealots.

If you use tyrants method with the PR peppering they're actually fairly easy.

Misriah? I have actually done that once. But it was really hard. Should have saved a clip I guess to prove it was possible, but it was really a lot of fairly boring and hard fighting.

EDIT: Oh jees. How could I forget?

I also just did The Package in 29:39. (film). Not anything particularly special, just a clean-up of my original 58 minute run. I had a fairly cool moment, IMO, in the jackal spiral stairway: Used a combo of Sword and DMR. Pretty fun, pretty quick!

My personal total time is now 3:01:45. So close to sub 3 hours!!

Mythic Contingency is DONE. Jorge and Swordy had a Deathmatch, and I got lucky with the other Zealot and got an assassination. I'll upload the film to my File Share, so that way I have evidence. No deaths, no saves, just a REALLY long film.

Odd, something may be wrong with the film, as I can't seem to delete it. OK, the problem has been fixed.

Back to MW2, as I now hate Reach for nearly giving me two heart attacks.

Nice run, RC!

The grenade-jetpack jump was cool, but did it really save you that much time rather than climbing up the building like everyone else? You also had to deal with the chieftan, so you lost more time that way. I do have to admit that your fuel-rod dodging abilities are awesome.

The mongoose run was very ballsy, especially the activation of the second battery. In my run, when I walked up the stairs to hit the button, there was a chieftain there; have you ever gotten hammered while going up the stairs at Mach 5?

You mean Michael's PR peppering method. ;)

If anyone did that before I did that I don't know about, I swear, I independently discovered that. Well, in all fairness, maybe Tyrant independently discovered that as well.

I did that in my Mythic run. Film is in file share.

The PL chieftain is kicking my ass on PoA. Does he always start spamming a crapload of blue death when his shields go down?

Can anyone give me a bit of advice for Exodus LASO?

I've been following Tyrant's guide and currently trying to Jetpack to the landing pad where the two Shade turrets spawn and I'm just failing hard.

I'm constantly coming up short by only a short distance.

Any advice?

Well you know what, lucky me, I happened to have gotten that particular that mission TWICE. I couldn't do it Mythic; I simply am still to noob to go without Blind. But still, the Murphy skull is in full effect since, when flying around, I'm occasionally swarmed by flights of 6-7 Banshees! That has been the biggest pain so far since they made that side mission as well as Buck's a real pain in the ass.

However, the one thing that has so far kept me in this mission is the presence of that one lone healthpack that constantly spawns at the base of the elevator towards Ivory Tower/Reflection. I don't know if you all had found out about this, but it's been a real life saver. To get it to spawn when things get too hairy, simply land on a rooftop and call for an evac. As soon as you get your new Falcon, simply head off to Sinoviet tower, land, cross the lobby and head to the elevator. The healthpack will always be there when doing this; it won't respawn unless you call for an EVAC.

Now, to deal with the Elites at the hospital. That's gonna suck so much...

Member of team Master Theory.

17th Mythic Conqueror of Halo 3.
5th Mythic Conqueror of ODST.
If you would like to know more about Mythic difficulty please go to this thread. Thank you.

Please do not send me "recruitment messages" as I'm not interested in joining any groups currently.

Tried Exodus yesterday and the only problematic bit was the landing pad. I just haven't played it enough to know where to Jetpack after killing the Chieftain which resulted in me flying off of a glass wall and get shot up by every covie in the room.

Oh well, I'll do it sometime this week.

Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror #11
ODST Mythic Conqueror #2
Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

Even though I haven't attempted the weekly yet I reckon it'll be a pain nonetheless. Didn't like exodus when I was going about improving my time, doubt I'll like doing it again now.

I just Jet Packed up to the bridge with the Grunts and Jackals on my practice run, then fought every Brute head on. Not the best idea.

My jetpack doesn't last that long to get up the building.

I had trouble too. It isn't as easy to get to the little ledge as the film makes it seem. Or rather, I should say that I don't know the precise movements to make it that easy. Fortunately, if you fail, you can usually boost a little before you crash, take no damage, and can try again. It probably took me 20 tries, but the results were worth it.

If you feel you can take on the Fuel Rod Chieftain for real, then getting up there is easy. Start out as in the video, boosting on to the large ledge with two planters. Instead of trying to get to the small ledge, you can boost up onto an orange flag to the left. Then boost again to a small ledge. Boost one more time and you'll be at the second level of the landing pad area. You'll still skip the same enemies, but the FR Chieftain will be aware of you, so he can't be assassinated. I suggest to keep trying for the small ledge in the video.

Vader, I actually like TOTS. More so than Exodus. I used to hate TOTS too until I found the chain gun warthog on the second AA gun. :)

I like it pretty okay too. The irritating factor was that I could run the whole level pretty easily but there was always something random that got me killed, and it was a different spot every time. That and I couldn't consistently get the second Wraith at the second AA gun to fall off or get stuck. VERY annoying.

In any case I finally beat it last night. Everything finally fell into place, even the Elite at the end suiciding off the Spire, which hasn't happened for me before. I usually just killed him. Anyway, the film is in my fileshare with the rest of my completed Mythic levels. I won't bother linking them, since my films aren't exactly popular downloads LOL.

4 down, 5 to go. I was going to start LNoS next since I've been going in order, but I guess I will do Exodus next since the challenge is this week. I will save and quit my way through it to practice for my real Mythic run later.

Also, watched Aura's POA. It was pretty good man! Would have been a lot shorter if you didn't hide from the FRG Cheif at the pad so long LOL. I imagine when I finally do that level It will take me 3 hours, because I will be hiding a lot longer than that ha ha.

And RC, that Exodus run was insane, especially the 'Goose running at the end. My heartrate went up just watching it, I'm surprised you didn't keel over since you were actually playing it LOL.
