Halo Reach 2/3rds of the way mythic conqueror (6/9)

Posted by: jross1993
I don't think I'm going to attempt this solo. I struggled at the end on Legendary with a few skulls on. Having all of them on will absolutely slaughter me.

You can do it here's a helpful link

This Laso was the easiest out of all the ones they've had. I used tyrant's guide and it was pretty much a breeze. And I am not the greatest when it comes to Laso challenges but his videos made it a breeze. The hardest part of the whole stage was in sword base dealing with the last invisible elite that keeps running back for cover. This map was nice to not have to worry about ammo or getting up close to an elite whose on foot.

Halo Reach Mythic Conqueror

weekly, dominated.

Just a heads up... at the end where you snag the wraith, boost over the bridge and wait for the phantoms to drop.. if the phantom doesnt leave, you're screwed. It does shoot back and the gun is indestructible. You can try to boost past it but you just end up in the middle of 400 elites and grunts/brutes/jackals/ghosts.

Edit: Nevermind.. it finally blew up after I got a random checkpoint. Very strange.

Actually if you move your wraith to the side behind the wall, you're out of view of the gun and the dropship can't shoot you. If you wait long enough, eventually it flies away. I thought I was screwed because I didn't move to a safe location in time before the checkpoint happened. But it worked out in the end because it couldn't shoot me while I was parked behind the wall past the bridge even though I could still see the dropship sitting there.

Does anyone know when the Package on LASO is going to be the weekly?

And can I do this for the weekly:

Tonight, I do almost all of the level, save & quit, then finish it tomorrow for the challenge?

I'm fairly certain that will work, it should be the weekly for this week

It did. Now I have something like 3 weeks for PoA LASO.

On another note, I found out that you can kill the General before he runs into the bottom of Sword Base.

Here is the video. It is a little lengthy, I think it is worth the time.

Oh. I read the guide for all of the missions, but didn't look over it during the run. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Twenty-ninth Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror
Eleventh Halo 3: ODST Mythic Conqueror
Fifth Halo: Reach Mythic Conqueror

Easy, easy weekly. Easy, easy (but very needed and very helpful) 17000 cR.

I don't remember that level being so difficult. I mean, it didn't take me that long to beat it for the first time on Mythic, but for some reason, I hated that level. I hated it from start to finish. I didn't get this feeling that time; I think the save & quit had something to do with it.

Guys, be careful with the wraith when maneuvering it on the ramp where you first enter the area. It gets stuck really easily. Also, it seems the phantoms get kind of fussy when you wraith (I just verbed the word "wraith". "Verbing weirds language"- Bill Watterson) from that area. Sometimes the phantoms take forever to come, sometimes they come immediately. Sometimes they take off and leave after dropping their troops, sometimes they stay there and you have to destroy them. Sometimes they shoot at you, sometimes they don't.

RC, I love your Jackal-Sword and Plasma Pistol method for the staircase. It really cut down a lot of time and it actually made that battle fun!

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

I found a really quick way to get through the Jackal room in case anyone was trying a speed run here. Sorry if it has already been found too.

Instead of running around the intended path, i just sent a hologram out in front of me, then picked sprint back up, and sprinted up the ramp straight ahead. You can skip all of the jackals (pretty much), but it is a little risky. I tried it a bunch of times, realised i didn't have full health/shields, and then i got it first go when i got my health back.

Here is the film. It's currently not rendered though, sorry.

I'm sorry; that came across a bit dickish. It is a very useful method. OBGJFIOYO!

Today, when doing the challenge with my GF, I instead used the full Focus Rifle from the Jackal Stairwell to strip the General's shields. Seemed reasonably effective and of course its dead on accurate so it took less time I think.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

Finally did The Package LASO. Took me 3 attempts. On the first one, my wraith got splattered by a piece of banshee debris. On the second, the wraith drove itself off the cliff, leaving me to tackle everything on foot (Which got me killed by a hunter), but the third time was flawless. No major problems at all.

Thanks for the guide Tyrant! Definitely helped me out a lot.

exodus is easy hehe

but yeh pillar will suck

worried about the end with the chieftains and stuff

Exodus wasn`t easy when you don`t bypass ANY part of the mission.

The entire PoA level looks to be a supercarrier-size pain train to me.

The real only troubling parts on PoA are the wraith area (unless you use RC Masters trick along the rooftops), and the two battles at the end. The rest is fairly straightforward. Not to say things can't go wrong though.

Can you use the concrifle-Early Onager trick on Mythic?

Just completed laso package coop. Twas fun. Hated the invisible elites... Felt like it would have been funner to fight thm more spread out....

Noticed something... I did is coop with a buddy, he skyjacked a banshee with a jet pack and I downed one with an emp blast from a rocket launcher... So I was flying and he had his parked... An then there were no other banshees...

He had his for a while before I had mine and I was under attack from at least one other banshee... But once I took it down and skyjacked it no other banshee would appear.... Maybe someone will find that useful.

Also it took hella damage. Like on purple fire, no wings, ready to splode... And then it was splatter time!

Got a few good splatters with it but the best was the engineer.

Can one splatter a hunter with a banshee, laso? I tired quite a few times, but my ride was really really damaged, and every time I tried I failed, either exploded or knocked it to the side.

Early Onager? If you're talking about getting up to the Mass Driver early, you can, but i wouldn't recommend it. I haven't actually done it myself, but from what i've seen in this thread, it is fairly risky.

I'd probably risk it, that giant battle is HELL. I always run out of ammo, even without famine on.

Edit: @ The guy above me: I hijacked both banshees on my solo run, and new ones showed up all the time. Maybe it's just a co-op thing.

You could probably splatter a hunter with a banshee. I don't see why not, you can splatter one with a revenant.

About Mythic Package Banshees, if you jack one at the beginning, let it despawn, then jack the second one, no more Banshees show up.

Yes. But it will take a number of hits.

I once toyed around with the idea of splattering the Hunters in the garage of ONI: Sword Base with a Revenant. It worked, and reasonably quickly, but it was dangerous as all hell.

Are you talking about the Mass Driver? Yes you can. I did it in my fastest run. And Legendary Smile did it in a co-op run. Unless you're saving and quitting don't bother; that run was more of a pain to land than my 15:56 on pure Legendary, and that took a while!

Another Long Night failure... Why do I keep coming back for more? Hah. Closest attempt so far at least - got right up to the bridge before I finally stuffed up.

I really hope I can nail this eventually... unfortunately there's still too many areas I haven't really gotten down.

With the comms room I'm only successful when I go all-sword, and I'll all too often end up with a swift deadly kick to the face. I'll usually hang up on the outer ring for the last two and hope they come up jet-packing from the floor so I can get those precious free swipes before they land.

And the last remaining elite, of the two in the doorways after the hanger cutscene, has been bothering me most recently. When he retreats I got nothing - get close enough to open the door he's back behind, then he goes grenade crazy. I only got him in this run by placing a crate in front and going nuts with the concussion as the door opened, and got lucky with a splatter.

And of course then there's the rest of the encounters too, heh. Wonder if I should have saved this for last rather than POA...

Ha. On Saturday night I had a fantastic run of Long Night of Solace going. I was slaughtering Elites left and right and pulling off tactics beautifully. Even managed to melee the two Elites before the cannon room so that the two IN the cannon room could be assassinated.

Where did it all go wrong? I rushed back into the hangar to jump into the Pelican gun, and there was an Elite standing right next to it. Do the math...
