Mythic is cool and all, but I think most of the community really enjoy regular Legendary runs without all the skipping of battles, de-spawning enemies, and just playing the game on Legendary as intended.

You know Tyrant has a Legendary guide for Reach and it involves plenty of skips and tricks? Even if he did one for Halo 2 and 3 it would still involve those things because a guide is supposed to get people through it; if you're just gonna tell them to kill everything then you're adding very little to their knowledge base.

Think about it....the majority aren't ever going to complete H3, ODST, or Reach on Mythic difficulty
Thats kinda the point.

Thanks for the linki-fication. :)

He's positioned himself behind that pillar perfectly to where I can't get angle on him without dying. And the messed up part is I still have plenty of needle rifle ammo to blast him with just 3 more shots to pop him.

Just go up to the next level first then. Easy to hit him from there.

Not a bad time either!

I don't know if you can use the fileshare with trial gold; don't be surprised if you can't.

Well at least do Halo CE and Halo 2 Legendary guides on Youtube after you finish ODST and Halo 3 of course. :) I know there are written guides on HBO, but your commentary makes it much easier to follow. People want it.

Mythic is cool and all, but I think most of the community really enjoy regular Legendary runs without all the skipping of battles, de-spawning enemies, and just playing the game on Legendary as intended. No offense RC, your speed runs are amazing.

I would also enjoy Tyrant guides to Halo CE and Halo 2 Legendary. However, I would rather have the skips.

Ah thanks for the heads up. No worries, I've been planning on getting proper gold again for a while now just hadn't gotten round to it - I should finally get onto doing that.

Forgot to say before, thanks again to all you guys for the tips, runs and guides. Couldn't have done it without ya!

If you're doing poa, I suggest skipping the wraith completely. This is mainly for those folks who have a hard time dealing with wraiths. Shadowstrike has a good method for driving right past it and you still collect enough needle rifle ammo by the time you get to the landing pad.

This is likely the method already in the guide (killing the two Marksmen Jackals, any infantry that pose an immediate threat, then zoom past on the Mongoose). There are, however, two additional methods for getting around that area.

Which guide is this? The one from your page runs up to the wraith. I've just seen a movie that has the person jumping across the roofs which isn't too bad if you can make it onto the first building without getting blasted.

bad luck for me im going to have to fight the whole fight without using mac cannon hard times....

who is going to fight the whole fight without using the mac cannon?

It's really not that bad. most of the conquerors fought it out because the concussion jump hadn't been found yet. The only tricky parts are the chieftains, and even then the fuel rod was the only real problem enemy. (plasma launcher is easy to dodge, and the hammer shouldn't be able to get close enough or fast enough to cause you problems)

The fight can feel tense, but yes this is mostly correct, the enemies themselves are not the hard part. The truly hard part of this battle comes from horrible frame rates and weapons despawning and the risk that the ammo crate may fall down the cliff and you have no spare ammo. If the frame rate was perfect and your weapons didn't randomly disappear this fight wouldn't be nearly as hard.

I have tried the mac cannon jump and I was able to do it but it took me about 10+ tries to do it successfully and then when you get up there, there is a complete lack of ammo. I think I went up too early so that was part of my problem. Having the blind skull on makes it very hard to conserve ammo and kill effectively from that distance. If you can get to where you can pull this jump off 90-100% of the time then go for it, otherwise I'd just say fight it out

I actually killed all three chieftains in weird way...

The hammer one came at me while I was in the Crow's Nest (my plasma pistol despawned...unlike Tyrant's video where it didn't, followed the rules, didn't wander farther that the DMR crate) with the Grenade Launcher. Bounced about 5-6 grenades into him dropping his shields then Needled him.

The Fuelrod one was down at the lowermost platform and I actually took him out with all the sniper rifle rounds. Took exactly ALL of the bullets and the final headshot popped the shields and took him out.

The Plasma Launcher is actually funny...He drops down and one of the brute minors just glitches into him, causing lethal impact damage...went down like a sack of potatoes and fell off. I was behind the wall and saw the shields pop and was like "huh?" Poked my head out and I didn't hear the plasma warming up and look down and was like LOLOLOLOL.

I think I've figured out what causes the despawns. It has to do with that safe area the videos have you hang out at when dealing with the landing pad. What I noticed is that if you hang out there too much, you get quite a number of checkpoints. I sometimes think Bungie did this on purpose. The thing that sucks about those checkpoints is that it prevents you from re-doing that last part of the stage if you screw up or have bad luck. I find this annoying because this rarely happens when I need to put the controller down for the night. If I'm at a point where I'd like to re-do to be more efficient and have more ammo, but I'm constantly getting checkpoints every 5 minutes. And all those checkpoints tend to despawn alot of weapons laying around.

One thing I noticed is that spending extended time in snipe zoom, looking at the enemies in the middle pad or further, is practically guaranteed to despawn all weapons in the catwalk. But the solution to not despawning them is simply picking them up obsessively. And even if they do despawn, the PP is still the most common weapon lying around, so you've got good chances of simply juggling one up to the catwalks.

I was pretty obsessive about picking up the weapons and keeping them "fresh". But one time I had just picked up my weapons and 2 seconds later a checkpoint happened to go by. I went to check on the "safety of my weapons and sure enough they were gone. It is good that the PP is the primary weapon used by many of the lower ranking enemies. It's just that I've had to give up my DMR to get it because of nearby enemies.

If you're having the same trouble I did it's because you have toggle crouch on. It's nearly impossible with toggle crouch. You need to stand on the highest part of the pipe and jump, then crouch while you are in the air to get on the lip of the wall. I hope that helps!

All I can say was I had the exact same problem. I must've tried a thousand times before I finally made. Just make sure you're not all the way to the left and back up a little ways from the wall so you'll be on the highest pipe.

He speaks the truth! It's all about the crouch. Just keep the stick held and you'll make it up no problem. I had issues with the same thing.

I'm not exactly on vacation, I'm en route to Colorado which is where I have an internship this summer. I have my xbox because of this. Also, its a small town and there is nothing else to do
