A revolution? Let's not get silly.

Good job all around to anyone who attempts and especially to those who succeed at these laso challenges.

Mythic pros make it look like magic, but for the non magician these can be long and frustrating... Thus impressive regardless. My friend and I did this challenge without deloading anything...( was unaware of it) A true test of friendship if there ever was one. My only regret was not finding and killing the bob.

Only a few of the missions have killable bobs on Mythic. The rest really aren't worth it. Even the killable ones aren't worth the time, tbh.

Alright, so I concussion-jumped up to the Mass Driver (courtesy of too many Save-&-Quits to count) from the start of the landing pad battle, and somehow managed to get to the final wave using nothing but ~40 needle rifle rounds and the BFG itself. Plasma Launcher Chieftain was dead on arrival, courtesy of a shot from the Mass Driver. Unfortunately, there are still 2 other Chieftains lurking about, and I have no shields. I'm trying to trick the Hammer Chieftain into running towards the cliff so I can knock him off with my only remaining Concussion Rifle round, but he never seems to lunge like he did in RC Master's run. Even worse, the Fuel Rod Chieftain sometimes likes to join in on the fun. As of the last Save-&-Quit, I'm still next to the Mass Driver, and the adjacent rocky outcropping is free of enemies, save for the 2 Chieftans. Any tips?

I don't know really how to tell you in your situation, but if there's only a few enemies left, and your save/quitting, then just jump down and keep moving around the area and pick up weapons as needed (I suggest the DMR crate that came out of the corner). that's what I had to end up doing. since there's 2 chieftains, see if you can scavenge a plasma pistol (hammer chief shouldn't be too hard to cap this way). one rule if you're following a guide; it's not always (more times than not) going to go exactly as you saw it, so you're going to have to improvise. also, if you still have needler ammo left over (you should've gotten a full one by the time you got to this point), take out the chief's shields with a plasma pistol then needle away.

EDIT: also, if you're saving/quitting, then why not just try different things until something works?

Your greatest enemy is an internal one...

I'm so down for a challenge ....I've played the whole campaign on legendary and I had no reason to play the story again.

POA hated me. I used Save and Quit A LOT! The Drones seemed to know excatly when to move, the Hunters spawned, I ran out of ammo up at the Mass Driver (But DID get both concussion rifles, so could get more then jump back up...I'm impressed at how much ammo each had despite Famine), the Zealot's kept dodging and had me eventually give up killing them and just take out the Field MArshal, then the MAC cannon coin-toss was made worse by the Zealots wanting a piece of me too while I was in it! Constant attempts at waiting for the shot did not work at all - Never got near the second shot.

But I do feel that how I beat it is something worth all that bad luck...I eventually decided to throw the coin away and just man the MAC gun right from the start and fight it out through the end. The coin must have landed on heads when I threw it away.

Wha... how...

You are extremely lucky. The T52s during my run just uberspammed me with their concrifle rounds, and I got hit by a long range banshee bomb...

Still beat it though, just did what was shown in the original guide and cowered behind the gun. Not behind the platform, but right behind the Onager so all I had to do was push 'X'.

But... kudos to you, spartan LO1. Now all that needs to happen for the campaign to be well and truly conquered is someone beating LNoS Mythic in 30 minutes.

For the record, I practiced that exact maneuver about 4/5 times before I landed that run. Its a distance thing, if you're too close he'll just spin around, you need to give him a bit more distance. If he doesn't do what you want the first time, you just need to run him around the rocks again.

Try to get the FRG guy to move off by distracting him from above or something. Usually he got distracted by the few troopers long enough for me to cap the hammer cheftain.

Once I did it really fast and the troopers were still fighting the FRG Cheiftain after I'd killed the Hammer one; sweet assassination!

I might be able to do it in 35 one day. Maybe.

So I just saw the video and it doesn't look like luck. The dropships won't hit you if they feel they can hit friendlies. And it looks like the Zealot could never hit you from that angle. Doesn't seem like luck but more like another possible way to finish that part.

I'm nearly there.

I'm at the MAC Gun, all I have to do is run up the stairs, hide, then shoot the cruiser twice when appropriate. The problem is that I have no shields. And three Zealots obstructing my free reign of the room.

Is it possible for me to jump down, snag a health pack with the 10 PP ammo I have left and take the side track along the upper railing back to where I was?

If you've killed the Fuel Rod Zealot, just run back into the ammo room outside and there should be like 4 health packs inside there. That's what I did to ensure I didn't get killed quickly when I jumped into the gun.

343 will save us

A friend and I are 180 minutes in.... we got a checkpoint where he's at the hiding spot before you have to jump into the MAC gun, and I go out side to the firefight level and send out a hologram to distract the phantoms a little bit since I can't do anything else to help. he has full health btu no shields, there are 2 regular and one FRG elite alive and he keeps dying by the FRG elite before getting a shot off, if he happens to survive getting in he can only get one shot off before he dies if we get lucky. Help???

  • 06.03.2011 9:57 PM PDT

I got up to the landing pad on PoA, everything had gone perfectly up until the second wave where both my plasma pistols despawned. I ran to get the grenade launcher which I was able to kill the gravhammer cheiften. I ran out of grenades and the FRG cheiften was gaurding all my ways down stopping me from attaining another pp. I tried to get one but of course he fuel rodded me back to the beggining of the level.

Kill the fuel rod elite. It's extremely difficult to do the mass driver part with him still alive. Use the grate method mentioned many times.

If you somehow manage to get both mass driver shots off with the fuel rod elite still alive, save that film because that would be cool.

If your checkpoint is AFTER the Mass Driver sequence was started and you don't have time to kill the FRG elite, then use the hologram on the stairs to distract the FRG while your friend is operating the Mass Driver. If he has full health he should be able to pull off two shots despite the phantoms if he's lucky (may take a few tries) but there's no way he can survive with the FRG elite blasting the crap out of him.

If the hologram isn't enough to grab his attention then take some pot shots until he's looking at you and not your friend.
