On Exodus, the cargo port skip on the last jump seems to be quite chancy. Sometimes the enimies there consist of a concussion rifle brute captain, 1 minor and grunts. I then sometimes die. Or it only consists of the captain and I can safely advance. Is there anuything I can do from preventing the former or is it just luck.

While there is a bit of a randomness factor in terms of where the enemeies are situated once you land after the final jump in the cargo port skip, if you bring the hammer with you as Tyrant suggests, you should be able to pass the area with a good degree of repeatability. As soon as you land, just swing at anything near you while simultaneously making your way up the staircase and you should be good.

Additionally, you can try to point yourself toward the staircase before you jump so you can land already facing in the right direction, and you can also try timing the length of your final jump/jetpack boost so you just crest over the railing.

If you use the full boost on the jetpack, you'll have enough power to hit your head on the ceiling (which doesn't do anything in and of itself), but it will cause you to spend more time in the air before you land and are able to continue moving (and thus allow more time for you to take damage). If you can time it so you just crest over the railing, there will be less time/opportunity for the enemies to hit you. Couple this with the hammer suggestion from Tyrant, and the area shouldn't be too bad.

Silentking, on co-op, that's actually one of the harder battles; you have very little grenade launcher ammo and no DMR.

The entire mission is much easier and much more fun solo. There's a couple more elites and the second Tyrant and the falcon ride has you taking double the fire. I hear there's more elites at the top of the spire too.

For my next Mythic mission its going to be New Alexandria. Actually the one part with the hospital range shooting the brutes, seems to be the hardest for me even with blind skull off. Only because I run out of ammo.
But other than that I easily killed the rangers and that's where I left off because Stopped playing

Hey guys, I am having a little bit of trouble at the beginning of ONI. I know there is a trick in which you go up a ramp to the right, and assassinate the Elite, however, I am not able to do it. Either he sticks me, the grunts shoot me with an overpowered plasma pistol and he one hit kills me...etc. Any tips?

If that tactic isn't working for you, then don't do it. Try taking it slow, don't rush the Elite. I never did on my run(s).

I assasinated the elite and yes originally I had this problem. You don't have to do it but you don't have to fight 4 elites rather than 3. For it walk not sprint towards the right a little bit where two marines will walk go past the jersey wall then begin sprinting he may shoot you and then you die or stick you. You could also just throw a grenade to make him dodge then try. For the grunts EMPing you that just comes down to luck.
You can always check out the guide, any other persons run or even mine to see.

The best method to try is to throw a grenade up there as you're running up. The right toss will cause him to try and dodge it. If he's dodging the grenade, then he can't shoot at you. Get up close and do the melee dance with him until he dies or you're behind him and can assassinate him.

You can see how I do it at the beginning of this video. I don't suggest using the rest of the video's strategy though unless you're willing to restart a thousand times until you get that lucky run.

Halo Reach Mythic Conqueror

When I first did ONI I couldn't get the elite assassination down but it was mostly due to inexperience (ONI was the second level I did after WC). Now when I go back I can get him pretty consistently. You just have to learn how elites behave. Also, throwing the grenade works sometimes but really I think it just comes down to luck, if he shoots you, you're basically done, if not you're good to go. Like someone above said you want to save your sprint so that you can make it all the way up the ramp without running out. I like to walk to those large glass cover pieces then sprint from there

That method would've been phased out a long time ago had the elite not been right at the beginning of the level.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,

Yea, the grenade never works for me...

It is a coin toss at times, but if the Elite is giving you a fair amount of trouble, you can cause him to retreat by killing three of the initial Grunts that advance towards you. This causes all enemies to retreat back to the courtyard.

Of course the down side to this is that now you have four Elites to deal with rather than just three.

And let me tell you, when it's all said and done, trying to deal with 4 of those Elites can be excruciating. Dealing with 3 is noticably easier than 4 of them.

I'm in the process of moving to New York, hence the lack of video activity. More to come soon.

Not to mention time consuming. As stated above, if this event were to occur at any other point in the mission, I'd say nix it, but since it's within the first few seconds, and the first skirmish is really the only extremely difficult one, I say it's worth the coin toss. Once again, though, there are at least two other noted methods for taking on the courtyard, so for some it may just be a matter of personal preference,.

Halo Reach 2/3rds of the way mythic conqueror (6/9)

I tried Long Night of Solace with 12 skulls on. Th beach/space battles are suprisingly easy. The corvette actually was only a little bit harder. Managed to clear the comms room, hanger, After the hanger and comms room with only three deaths. Only one true death with the hanger when ranger shot me death over crates in hallway. All other deaths were checkpoint reloads.

AlpineFroggy, I find that practicing with only twelve skulls on is very different than Mythic. In Mythic, there's a huge stress factor and that means a higher chance of human error. When you play with twelve skulls on, you subconsciously don't care about dying since you'll know that you'll just revert to the last checkpoint.

I'm not saying don't practice; I'm saying don't let practice give you a false sense of ease. I did and I only got more frustrated at the levels.
