I had the most epic survival of my life in Campaign recently and I know you guys will appreciate how damn lucky I was to be alive. Running PoA for the Daily Challenge L.D. Pillar (Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Tough Luck on) with a friend, I tried skipping the hunter section....
OOPS, the hunters still spawned!! So I tried turning around, only to face a Dual Wielder and Concussion Ultra, then all hell broke loose and you have to fricking watch this escape.
Close enough to Mythic so it's relevant and hopefully you'll feel the blood pumping through my veins as this unraveled on my screen.
Edit: Rendered!
Very nicely done. Great use of the needle rifle to stall and divert the elites to keep them constantly evading or armor-locking.
Did your co-op partner have the drop shield? I know most people will take it with them from where you pick it up just before entering Boneyard 1 and keep it through the rest of the mission. It's funny you happened to have sprint equipped, because without it, I don't think there's anyway you would have been able to survive that situation.
It's a great example of how the skulls force you to think on your feet and adapt and change the way you approach missions. It's what makes Mythic fun to play (or at the very least turning on a bunch of skulls when you don't feel like putting up with the stress of full-on Mythic runs), and the lulz make it fun as well, as long as they don't happen at terrible times.
A personal favorite lolcat of mine: the beginning of Tip of The Spear, took out both turrets, hopped over the guardrail, and began sprinting along the left hand side and jumping (to create a parabolic path to dodge enemy fire) over to the drop zone for the rocket hog. Suddenly, I die, but no one's near me and the controller hasn't vibrated so I know I haven't taken any fire.
Upon further review via replay, I discovered that I actually jumped into one of the spinning rotors on a random Falcon that had been shot down but not completely destroyed, so it was just sitting there stuck up against the guardrail. I just laughed since I had only spent a few minutes playing at that point, but if something highly unusual like that had happened after I had invested significantly more time in the mission, I think it's safe to say my reaction would have been much different.
