Oh the pain! As close as you can get to finishing POA (and my mythic campaign) - died in the mass driver at the end. Can't believe it. You guys aren't wrong calling it a coin toss - after my death I saved/quit and loaded it up again, did exactly the same thing and finished it alive (both next-to-if-not-full health, 2 elites left who didn't hit me running to the gun, and holo set out just before hopping in). Crud. Crud crud. That's gotta suck man! I never load up the game again if I die, just makes me angry if I manage to complete it, unless I need the practice. How do you deal with the Elites?
Got the first one from the doorway prior to making them retreat up to the second level.
I thought about trying to get the other remaining normal ones using the stairs for cover, but thankfully I didn't bother because I ended up going through pretty much all of the plasma pistols on the FRG/Sword guy. Whenever I'd get his shield down, or almost, he'd take cover where I couldn't get a shot at him. Felt like ages trying to get that bugger.
After he was down I went back out to grab the hologram, then did the usual rafter stuff to jump straight up to the gun. Instead of using the drop shield on the last little bit of rafter-hopping for safety, I just ran the holo off in their direction and continued up to the gun. For the end I just lobbed off a couple grenades towards them (with the intention to distract them... dunno if that actually gets their attention instead though) as I started running up the stairs and then let off the hologram up next to the gun.
On a slightly unrelated note: I don't suppose there are any techniques for consistent box-launching? I imagine not? While stuffing about at the landing pad the other day I got some really nice launches all the way up to the gun from the bottom. Some all the way up there, a couple even onto the top of the gun, and a bunch more onto the pipes that you concussion onto. However, with lots and lots of duds in between each of them, despite having a checkpoint with the box in the spot ready-to-go. I couldn't figure out if there was any 'good' or 'best' way to do it?
