Hi, my name is Stolen_Zombie! My morning routine is to bomb the ocean, eat a house, drink salt water, and kill a zombie. Many people consider me a jack ass because I eat corn flakes, I tell those people to go have sex with a kangaroo. After my morning routine, I rage over beating LNoS on mythic so I can get one step closer to mythic reach completion. I should mention that's after school. My diet is shotgun shells and paper airplanes, nice to meet you!

Ok, can someone explain to me how a nightfall speedrun is worth so much more than a pillar of mythic run?

Are there any Concussion Rifles at Boneyard or are those the only two?

There is a Ranger Elite who spawns on the cliff-side of the interior of the frigate in Boneyard who has a Concussion Rifle. However, he jumps down into the fray as you move about half way up Boneyard, so you're not getting his ammo without killing most of the enemies in Boneyard 1. Good luck with that.

Hmm...I think I can get that CR much more easily than the one in the smelting room, since a Ranger holds it and there's a Sniper in the next building. Thanks.

Wouldn't it be better to have a sniper in the previous building, so that you can kill the ranger before he jumps off?

Maybe the Spartan laser is a suitable replacement.

Two shots on normal legendary to take out the elite hero in boneyard battle one. I would imagine it to be 3 shots for a ranger. Sniper seems to be a more viable option.

POA has gotten a lot easier since I completed it on true Mythic. I think it's the hunter de-spawning tactic. Tyrant, you found that? The first smelting room used to be one of the hardest parts of the level for me--now, it's one of the most trivial. Thanks!

Jumping up to the second level in the mass driver building doesn't always convince all the elites to fall back to the second level. Or maybe it does--I did have one grunt left alive when I tried it. In any case, be careful--just in case you were planning on being reckless and stupid.

Also, yes, the weekly challenge payout is no indication on its difficulty; this has been addressed many times before. Now please, as a community, can we move on?

Alpine's right. The Spartan Laser's no use against a Ranger on Mythic because it doesn't do enough damage to follow up a finishing move on it. The Sniper or DMR gets the kill quicker and more reliably.

By the time you get to the Sniper rifle (which is in the frigate) the ranger will have jumped down alongside all the other elites, skirmishers and jackals. Even supposing you do kill him with your six shots (and you can only miss two since it's 4 shots to kill a ranger on mythic), you still have to get down there, in amongst all the enemies, and retreive the concussion rifle.

I dunno, maybe you could wrangle some de-spawning action after you kill him and then clear out the jackals and skirmishers by hand, but I don't know if the CR would still be there...

I find the Laser mostly useless to take out elites.

The CR does stick around after despawning the Elites, much like the Plasma Pistols the Drones had are still lying on the floor when you backtrack to despawn said Elites. The Sniper's not even really needed, as the DMR can get the job done too and there's an ammo crate with plenty of ammo for the DMR in the Frigate too.

Might stop going for the second CR, though. While my aim is still quite awful, I've decided to fight out the first two waves on the ground and nail the PL Chieftan's Phantom with the Mass Driver. So reloading after going up there shouldn't be an issue if I'm just going up once 5 or 4 enemies are left.

And that's with 4 deaths which means 4 resets plus I screwed up on a jump at the end.

Hopefully I'll get a sub-15 min run without deaths for the record books today. I know it's not Mythic, nor is it truly LASO, but it counts for the Weekly Challenge and I think you guys will still cream your pants at how fast we take this beast of a mission down.

How could I have known, the parasite was full!

can someone give me a little tip to the last area?
As coop laso's arent hard at all tbh, but i will have to do this one solo. Ive checked the tutorial vid in the first post but since he has no UI visible (blind skull to be hardcore looking pro :P) i cant tell always what weapons hes using and how much ammo he got at a point.

I believe the last part before keys arrives is hardest, because those brutes are just fat, now i can easily snipe with dmr all the minor brutes and yellow. But the big ones with fuel rod gun, cmon i cant get close enough to use plasma pistol and dmr is just waste of ammo...

Any tips on the last area?

I was like killing everything else but the fuel rod guy, then 2 more dropships arrived and tons of more brutes, i was like -blam!- it...alrdy out of dmr ammo and nothing very useful left to use. So i went to sleep.

Fight it out somehow. Without having DMR/needle rifle ammo available. It becomes impossible or really difficult.

Download the films to your Xbox and pop the camera out to 3rd person.

More or less you need to 'snipe' the FRG and Plasma Launcher chieftain with a PP. From the fenced area near the entrance down to near the stairs where they often hang out, that sort of distance.

Generally, you should try to bring both a full DMR and a full NR to the landing pad. But that's already in the guide so I don't know why I'm saying it again....

Well...that was annoying. The NR I brought to own the Chieftans with despawned, so I decided to just go up to the Mass Driver before the second wave arrived - Figured I'd need the DMR ammo to own the Chieftans with later, alongside a Jackel's PP. When the third wave started, I nailed the PL Chieftan's Phantom. As I got out the gun, though, some of the debris fell on me...and I obviously lost my shields on the way up, so...

Thing is, I'm not sure the NR is despawning. I think it's falling through the floor, which happened to be above a bottomless pit. I've noticed the Plasma Pistol almost doing that whenever Emile fires the Mass Driver...might go for that second CR again solely to kick Emile out the big gun and see if that helps at all.

Has anyone tried to shoot the guns of the phantoms at the end foe PoA? It might work. One laser blows them up.

This only works if a) you're playing co-op and four lasers are at the mass driver and b) you hit the turrets full-on. A glancing blow will not destroy them. A better method for co-op would be to have one person man the MD while everyone else lasers banshees and the phantom that flies over the MD. Or hiding behind the MD platform, that works well too ;)

I only publish zero-death runs. And this run still has 2-3 min to shave off. Then you'll get your "truth" lol.

Thanks for the tips btw RC. Blowing up that second phantom in the first wave might be the solution to sub-15.

Just finished this about 15min ago using the typical glitches but I did use a couple of the tactics Tyrant suggested so thank you for that. As I'm sure most people would say/agree the credit payout for this is not worth the time unless your just that great at halo.

Halo Reach 2/3rds of the way mythic conqueror (6/9)

Over the past two months I have practiced LNoS about 35-40 times through on 12 skulls. I think this is plenty practice to actually do the mission this saturday.

Trying to finish Pillar of Autumn for the weekly challenge. I'm behind the chainlink fence at the end right before the MAC gun. I only have 9 plasma pistol ammo left and for the life of me I cannot get the elite with the fuel rod gun to stand still enough to take its shield down. Oddly enough, there doesn't appear to be an elite with a sword which there is in all of the videos I have seen. I think a FRG is slightly worse, though. I've jumped up to the MAC gun a few times and even gotten into it, but for some reason the mission isn't progressing...

The Field Marshall will wield an energy sword when you have taken his shields down.

You just have to pepper his shields down. It takes patience. I did it today just fine. If you need to, grab another plasma pistol from the five previous Grunts that you killed if you think you need it.

Believe it or not, but, the Field Marshall stood still for me. He was hiding behind a barrel, and I just peppered his left arm repeatedly until his shields popped.

After you kill the Field Marshall, the mission will only progress if you move up and down the stairs to the MAC. Moving up and down the stairs will trigger the Phantoms and the Cruiser to move into position.

Also, remember to grab the Hologram AA. Use it on the platform to distract the Phantoms so that you can squeeze off one MAC shot before they start shooting at you.

It helps if you have FULL health and FULL shields, as well.

I hit the cap today, so I saved and quit right before I completed the mission so that I can receive an easy 17,777 cR for tomorrow right off the bat.

I now have a checkpoint at the MAC gun and I can crouch behind one of the small walls there until I need to fire, but I can't seem to live long enough to get the second shot off. Unfortunately I was not able to kill the fuel rod field Marshall so I'm kind of sandwiched between the phantoms and him. I have drop shield as an ability and no shield at the checkpoint, so I guess it is just trial and error until I get lucky or figure something out.
