For those who are curious, I want to use the majority of money received to go back into the Mythic community. I would love to be able to afford prizes and such for those who successfully conquer Mythic and do other great things for the community.
I can no longer afford to use my own funds for this. Believe me, I would if I could. I've cut back as much as I can at this point. My options are drying up.
No, those prices are NOT final, but it's going to take a bit more collaboration to get things on the right track.
Thank you again for everyone's continued support. Simply having you guys here on a day to day basis means the world to me, and your continued support is the very reason I continue to be apart of this awesome community :-)
What do you pay for in the mythic community? This is free, twitter and youtube is free, and the only thing left is Halo.bungie.org. Your website costs money for server hosting but other than what else?
EDIT: occasionally when I don't go for solace on Saturday it it is because of martial arts that I get taught that takes up my evening play time on Fridays/today. Having a break and no practice sometimes leaves me sloppy. Even a day makes me sloppy. SO to solve this I am going today and Staurday to practice on Friday.
Oh ho ho, behind the scenes prices are what ends up getting you. Before he had a capture card, rendering via Bungie.net was the way to go, which gets rather expensive over time. He took a trip to HaloFest, while it was very fun as I can imagine, it also helped spread the word of Mythic. He also had to pay for the studio equipment he used for making his videos, such as greenscreen, software, etc. The money he loses by investing extra time into the Mythic community perhaps at a cost to the time allotted for work. As well as a few other things I'm not sure Tyrant would like to disclose. I also know that Tyrant has been working on a short film for quite some time which requires actors and props, which gets expensive. I know that that project is something he's been looking forward to and working on for quite some time, and I'm sure the expenses have been a factor on holding him back.
Overall, it can be quite time consuming and expensive to run a constant stream of videos. While I agree that perhaps some of the prices on some items may need to be tweaked, I believe that it is a great idea that Tyrant has set up a website to help bring in a few bucks on the side for his hard work. If for nothing else other than a place for followers to donate, it can't hurt, and can only help him.
Also, Tyrant and I were talking about his website for a little while now and I'm a little excited that it's now up.
P.S. - I totally had a dream last night that we had a HaloFest type thing dedicated to Mythic, and the Mythic community came to it from all over the world... pretty cool... we all got to finally meet and such... then I woke up with an ear infection and a Midterm to take in 1 hour.
