Sorry to burst your bubble but I actually have played that mission to death and after rebooting the mission after. I think 2 weeks?
I died only once and that was after I was in the pelican gun and going after the duel-wielder with melee fights in the four elites of the apocalypse.

Subject: Official Halo: Reach *Mythic Difficulty* Guide (LASO for all missions)

I'm seriously getting pissed off. The last time Alexandria LASO came up this happened. I jack a banshee on the roof of the hospital fly down inside, destroy the jammer, hop back in, wait for the jetpacks to despawn, get out...and I'm stuck. I don't teleport. WTF?! Do I need to destroy my falcon, first?

What makes your falcon randomly appear at the entrance? Is it because its the LAST jammer? WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?

Well, I just did it again but I destroyed my falcon with some banshee bombs. And poof, I teleport outside. :-/

When I eventually do that mission I'll make sure to not have that happen.
Sometimes that would happen and Im like WTF I now have to restart the mission.

Just restart until the hospital is the first objective, just to be sure.

I'll check out the easy 7:52 run now, thanks RC.

Interesting thing I noticed in the beginning is if you don't lift off fast enough, Kat has a different monologue that takes longer for your first objective to activate. Has anyone noticed this before?

Also it seems the best side missions are the ones where you can kill your teammates so the next mission will automatically begin. This doesn't work on the one where banshees are circling the marines though; in that case you have to kill the banshees to finish the mission.

For a speedrun, what do you think is the best sequence that minimizes time flying around and waiting for mission activations? I think Sinoviet or Vyrant first b/c you can get to them off the start before they are done loading, then a rooftop fight on the way to the hospital, jack a banshee mid-air and do the hospital glitch, then another rooftop fight on the way to the last objective. Finally on LASO you can't blow up the Phantoms dropping shades, so prob start on the first shade dropped then go in a circle?

Edit: 2 more questions.

1. When should you call for a new falcon when going into the hospital? I pressed it before shooting off my banshee wing, and when I went outside it still wasn't there.
2. Why is it that after main missions, sometimes Kat calls the next mission in before the Covenant glassing and sometimes she calls it after?

Why on earth would you go after a dual-wielder in a melee fight when you are that close to the end?!?

Dual Wielders are impervious to assassinations (like Brutes) once they've noticed you, which means you'd have to land at least 11-12 direct hits in order to win.

Not trying to bash you here, but what prompted you to do that?

I like to have Sinoviet first, because its close the spawn. Then Hospital, obviously. Finally Vyrant, because its closer to the ONI Building. But for side objectives, I'd want ones close to the main objectives.

1. That shouldn't happen, did you destroy or leave the previous Falcon in a reachable or drivable place? I like to knock mine off the rooftop, so it blows up. I've never had the Falcon not spawn.

2. I'm not too sure tbh, it may depend on what objective you're about to get. It may just be random. It may also depend on how fast you leave the objective in the Falcon. Could do with some testing, see what triggers it.

I definitely dropped it when jacking the banshee. Maybe I got through the hospital so fast that the falcon didn't have enough time to come in? Those things take 40-50 seconds. Or maybe I pressed the button too close to inside the hospital instead of out in the courtyard, which I've been doing and it works fine.

2. Why is it that after main missions, sometimes Kat calls the next mission in before the Covenant glassing and sometimes she calls it after?

One reason I've noticed is that, depending on the objective, the Covenant need to deploy their troops at the objective before Kat will inform you about it. Noticed this on one run after completing the Club (I go Club for a jetpack, then Hospital using the jetpack to jack a banshee, then Reflection) and seeing a Phantom drop off the Elites and Engineers, which was followed by Kat announcing their arrival as they left. I presume the same happens at the jammer they deploy.

Why exactly are they a waste of time? They're no more of a waste of time than matchmaking. You get the same appreciation for your hard work, however, in Mythic, you get to say you've done something that only a handful of people have done.

And this is coming from a dedicated Multiplayer player.

It wasn't a mythic run Tyrant.

besides It would be my first run to that area and hell I would want a gurrenteed finish so I would enter the gun. To me once I enter the gun on a practice run my solace run is finished. I just see if I can take out the duel-wielder anyway. Say the gun gets nuked. But again I wouldn't be that stupid I would wait for him to get distracted by Jorge then pop him in the back.

Not really, don't know why you'd stick around though.

For a speedrun, what do you think is the best sequence that minimizes time flying around and waiting for mission activations?
Hospital - surrounded by long range shade turrets - sinoviet - hunters - vyrant.

As an aside, I really think you should decide whether you want to do challenge guides or you just want to impress people with your series. Speed runs on this mission are entirely useless to the average joe.

jack a banshee mid-air
Have you found a consistent way to do this? Cus this is actually way, way harder than it might seem.

And in the middle of trying to get the right sequence of objectives and not dying to other stupid ways, I think you should be able to tell why I haven't beaten my own run yet.

.. another rooftop fight on the way to the last objective.
The side objectives are grouped by type. So you CANNOT get DMBN Finanical (Troopers v. hunters) and Mains Traiger (Troopers v. Jackals).

Click.

Finally on LASO you can't blow up the Phantoms dropping shades
Untrue. You just have to be very early in starting to shoot them and get your Troopers to help out. You should be able to destroy it a few seconds after it drops the first shade. This is easiest if you're coming from Sinoviet of course.

[b]1. When should you call for a new falcon when going into the hospital? I pressed it before shooting off my banshee wing, and when I went outside it still wasn't there.
Keep hitting it until Kat says shes calling one - even when you get back into the Banshee. Also, there is sometimes a shade turret on the nearby building that can destroy the Falcon as it comes in.

2. Why is it that after main missions, sometimes Kat calls the next mission in before the Covenant glassing and sometimes she calls it after?
I think different side-missions have different set-up times. Like some just spawn there, and others are dropped off from Phantoms that fly slowly up from the depths.

The way I enter the gun is different because if the gun survives the initial grenade splatter on Jorge it survives later because I kill the cannon fonder first grunts first then go to the gun when the elite is distracted.

I have been killed os many time that elites it isn't even funny so I take it slower. With no Covenant to kill knock the gun off I found that works at destroying the gun.

@Alpine: A step by step for the pelican gun:

Rush for gun > get in gun > shoot at ground to remove gun from HUD > unleash hell > grow tired waiting for elites to die > kill final 4 elites > win.

I really can't fathom how you're having this much trouble with LNoS. I mean sure, it's a difficult level, if not the most difficult, but do you know what you do if you think you're gonna die? You haul your ass in cover and play it safer. The stories about you occasionally messing up the double tap or failing at the bridge, or at the 4 final elites could all be gone if you just rethink what you're doing and just start fresh.

I'm not doubting your abilities but just from the sounds of things you should be more than competent enough to complete LNoS, even on successive attempts.

Some of it is also about being as careful as you can be. You know, I've noticed at times that when I'm doing a run and trying to make it look cool for the viewers, I tend to screw up more.

As far as I can tell, nearly every part of Long Night has a repeatable method for conquering it at this point. The main points of conflict seem to come from space (which can be avoided heavily by sticking close to Anchor 9), the Comms Room since you can't control where the Elites go, and lastly whether or not the Pelican gun will be there.

Nearly everything else can be bulldozed with just a little patience :-)

Hospital - surrounded by long range shade turrets - sinoviet - hunters - vyrant.

Speedruns can be guides for average joes if helpful commentary is included. Many youtubers comment that I make speedrunning tactics more accessible because of the way I explain things. Also, average people can master these tricks too with some practice so I disagree with your statement that it's all useless.

jack a banshee mid-air
Have you found a consistent way to do this? Cus this is actually way, way harder than it might seem.

Yes, easy when they are coming head on and spraying blue gun. They go slow and won't boost away. Practice and timing still required. Feels awesome to pull it off.

.. another rooftop fight on the way to the last objective.
The side objectives are grouped by type. So you CANNOT get DMBN Finanical (Troopers v. hunters) and Mains Traiger (Troopers v. Jackals).

Referring to different rooftop type: shades, snipers, banshees. Also doing the Hospital first wastes time flying over there, so I don't think it should be first.

Finally on LASO you can't blow up the Phantoms dropping shades
Untrue. You just have to be very early in starting to shoot them and get your Troopers to help out. You should be able to destroy it a few seconds after it drops the first shade. This is easiest if you're coming from Sinoviet of course.

But by that time you are missing the first shade that was dropped and slowing down your run. Of course you CAN blow it up, but I meant to optimize this sequence you cannot.

That's way too much quoting, sorry if I cut out the author titles.
