Tip of the Spear complete.

Wow. I have NO IDEA why so many of you opted to take the left side of the Falcon rather than the right. The right is 100x easier!

You think? Theres too much stuff blocking you from killing the shades on the right side of the Falcon, and the elites are much closer. I died way more by going on the right than the left.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

It's actually quite fun, as long as you don't get frustrated too easily.

I'm getting closer with Sword base, but quite often I have to use two locater shots to get a single freaking wraith. Hating that. Once I get this done, I'm torn between New Alexandria and Tip of the Spear. TotS is easier, from what I hear, but I love falcons.

Remember, with the Locator, don't aim for the ground. Target the actual Wraith. The "painted target" will actually follow and target the actual vehicle rather than just the area.

damn it im at the top of the spire on Tip of the Spear and I jet pack off to avoid the sword elite but he throws a plasma and sticks me :(, might try again tomorrow.

Also having trouble with the court yard on Sword Base any tips?

Hawk's tips are good. Also keep in mind that this is really the hardest part of the mission. Once you manage to jack yourself a Wraith, it's all downhill from there.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Now the question is...

Is there a Mythic ending???

I just started up Lone wolf on mythic. No eagle on the helmet or anything else. Damn, would be so nice to see a mythic ending.

How about surviving for 7 minutes? Or beat the whole campaign on Mythic? If there is not Mythic Ending, thats one less theory.

I found the right side so much easier too. The elites are closer to you but they're also more tightly packed and closer to each other and it's easy to quickly knock them off - and once they've taken some damage they like to sprint up towards the spire itself and will stop shooting back. While on the left side the elites will sometimes spawn in really awkward spread out locations for me.

Not only that while trying the left side I died to Wraith mortar about 4 times - the Falcon pilot actually swerved into its line of fire TWICE and got me killed.

I dont know exactly what to call it, but it has something to do with spaggetti, duct tape and razor blades...

-GamerTag- CopSuicide (used to be Weedpot420)

Jeez, I just got done with Legendary with tons of deaths. I don't know about Mythic.

If I knew it would unlock something, say an alternate ending, I'd be all over it.

If you start reading quotes, you really need to improve your life.

I'm proud to say my friend is the first Halo: Reach Mythic Conqueror. I think congratulations are in order. So yeah, congrats Legendary Smile. I hope you aren't done playing Reach just because you cleared it on mythic :)

Anyways, with that said there's one thing I need to say. To all the other mythic challengers, good luck.

I think it's safe to say that there is no such thing as a Mythic ending. I did Pillar of Autumn today (rally point bravo) on mythic to see if there was anything after the credits, but there was nothing different than the usual ending :(

Well, I was doing pretty well on ONI:Sword base earlier. I'd beaten the courtyard, and the AA gun, I was trying to collect a med kit so I could heal, and I didn't want to bother finding a plasma pistol, so I naded myself, and died. Furthest I've gotten on that damn mission, I had the hardest parts completed, and I still had a target locater round I hadn't needed to use, and I -blam!- killed myself.

-.-

I did that myself a few times, albeit one of the times I wasn't throwing a Frag to intentionally damage myself.

Concussion Rifle > Plasma Pistol > Frag for damaging self, in my opinion, since I don't like wasting the Plasma Pistol battery. Concussion Rifle can be fired directly under you when you're at full health and no shiellds and you'll live, so it's a lot safer than a Frag.

I don't suppose that you have the videos that are rendered in the OP on youtube?

I have to use a notebook or netbook, whatever it's called. Since my computer is broken, and it can't watch videos that are in 720p or it lags like crazy.

I'd like to eventually start up a Mythic youtube channel, but it's not at the top of my priority list at the moment. Expect to see it some time down the road :-)

If there's one thing I've learned about Bungie and unlockables it's that 9/10 times they only work when you go from the START of a mission, not rally points!

This is actually true in many cases. Could you get the Legendary ending in Halo 3 from a rally point?

I thought you could... But wasn't there like a skull or something in Halo 3 which required you to start from the beginning for it to spawn?

Yup. I'm pretty sure that to find the skulls in Halo 3, you needed to start the missions from the beginning and not a rally point.

No black and white in the blue.

@Khazard, Eli, MATCLAN, Tyrant and anyone else interested in multi-Mythic: I'd like to go at Mythic with a team as well, but like Khazard and MATCLAN, my school schedule is probably too tight right now for weekday play. The only days I can confidently say that I can play for an extended period of time are weekends (Friday-Sunday). If that's good enough for anyone, let's get to it, but I'll definitely be available during Thanksgiving as I won't have much to do other than hang with family.

Our main issue is finding someone close to our time zone. Vince, Shadow, and myself all live on the Eastern half of the United States where as many of you live across the ocean. And in terms of weekends, I work all day on Sundays (10-12 hour shifts) which pretty much means that Saturday afternoon and evening pretty much marks the only time when I can do things with family or local peeps who are on a normal schedule (i.e. mostly working during the day Monday-Friday).

Sounds good to me. My weekday schedule isn't THAT bad, I can play just about every night, but occasionally I have to use my nights for projects or studying, and my days are fairly full. This doesn't even account for the girlfriend factor!

Edit: I'm in Central time, or for you cross the seas folks, -6 GMT.

Little does Bungie know that the Mythic Community doesn't take "no" for an answer.
