No black and white in the blue.

So I just messed around Sword Base for an hour with every skull save Iron and Blind and I found it to be incredibly easy. When the score screen showed up, I realized why. I was playing on Normal (wtf?). This is the second time I've done that (I did it once on Winter Contingency). Did the difficulty level reset to Normal every time the game restarted in Halo 3? I don't remember that being the case, but it seems to happen in Reach. I remember thinking the score multiplier wasn't as high as it should be during the game, but I paid it no mind until now. So, another hour down the drain, although the cR I earned did push me up the Captain Grade 3.... My stupidity really does amaze me sometimes.

Lol. At least you got it in the end! I've had trouble with teleport zones in campaign co-op. It really should be teleporting your vehicle too.

Lmao. I had no idea that was going on. I saw myself drive in on a Ghost, wondered what you guys needed me there for and left. Then I finally came back when the tank showed up.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

LOL! All and all, it was a realy good time :-) I enjoy playing Team Mythic far more than solo. Here's a thought, though. Why don't we just rush it with two Revenants through the courtyard? Vince and I can drive while Shadow and General can be passengers. That way no one gets teleported and it also won't take us forever.

Worth a shot, at least. It's not like we really have much trouble fighting it out, though.

attempted another TotS run. Got to the end, killed grunts. Just me an elite. Elite decided to just stand still and throw like 40 grenades over and over and over again, and I kept dodging like a pro, until I guess I backed up to far, right next to an explosive barrel.

Plasma Grenade + Explosive Barrel + SHADOWSTRIKE1 = "thank you good sir for your 40 minutes. Try again later."

Also, one thing I did learn from your run was that when melee fighting Elites you dot he opposite of what you'd do to Brutes; Brutes require your to juke right whereas Elites seem easier to backsmack if you move left around them.

Yes. This is because elites are anatomically similar to spartans. No, gross, not like that. I meant both elites and spartans can be assassinated by hitting them in the right shoulder. When I first land on the corvette, notice the angle which I assassinate the ranger when he flies up to me and the two rangers at the terminals. Try it in multiplayer! I believe Halo: Reach Mythbusters has an episode on that. Also, from what you're telling me, I'm gathering that it's NOT suicide to get in a melee fight with a brute? Thanks! That will really help me on Exodus :)

You guys were really playing late last night. I hope it didn't affect your productivity today like it is doing to mine.

Mhm. I remember they did in a Halo 3 episode of it and noticed it still applies. As for melee fights with Brutes...unless it's a Chieftain with a heavy weapon, you'll get punished by their uber powerful melee for trying. Then again, there might a way to properly dodge their retaliatory swings. The problem with the one they use on enemies that are behind them is that the swing starts outside of your periphery and comes from low as they swing.

Edit: I think I'm going to give my 360 a break until tonight. It's never a good sign when it freezes, but at least it didn't red-ring when it froze and when I turned it back on afterward.

Sad day! :( Hope your 360 gets a speedy recovery!

On the up side, I guess this means I won't have to cut out early on the finale mission for Humans Vs. Zombies tonight. xD

Even though I haven't finished Exodus on Mythic, I'm still thinking of strategies for New Alexandria. I'm wondering if it might be easier to memorize all the objectives' locations from the evac point. Do the buildings flash despite the Blind Skull?

Oh no! That sucks! On the bright side, contrary to what people believe, Xbox repair process is quick and easy. I got mine back in about six business days. If you live in the United States, it might be faster. Is Saturday a business day there? I forget.

If you are interested in getting the 500 and 1000 in a row medals, you can do them on the beginning section of LNoS. There are in infinite # of Spirit dropships and enemy waves if you stay outside the launch facility. However:

- I do not believe you ever trigger a checkpoint while doing this...so it is almost like playing with Iron on.

- You will be meleeing quite a bit because you will quickly run out of UNSC weapons and allies. So you might want to think about complementing your drop shield with the BE skull.

- By my estimate, three hours straight should get you to 1000 kills.

- This is also a good area for other spree medals such as Corrected etc.

It is also possible (albeit slower) on New Alexandria due to the infinite Banshees and Phantoms.

RC wrote a guide describing all the locations of the unlisted objectives. It helped me through my run of that mission. The main buildings (Hospital, Club and Sinoviet) do flash when you look at them.
The only problem I had with that mission was finding the unisted missions, they are scattered everywhere.

Well, considering we're already playing with all skulls on...

Interesting info. So that's two missions where Inconceivable and Unfrigginbelievable are possible. Lone Wolf would be a third, as I think it keeps going well after the Wraiths.

I was referring to H3/ODST. Don't try to melee fight with Brutes in Reach. It's not pretty.

Shadow and General K, if either one of you are going to be on later, let me know. I think I may have found something potentially helpful on Exodus, but I'm going to need some help just to see if it would be worth learning the Reach grenade jump system.

If you guys are willing to have a rookie with you now and then, I have a pretty free schedule if you want me to fill in for multi-mythic. I'm not great, though.

I've been playing a lot of Exodus too. This is what I gathered:

The sniper rifle on the roof when you first encounter brutes has six rounds. Six rounds=six dead brutes.

Needlers are epic. There's one in the crate near the elevator. It'll take two supercombines or two stuck grenades to kill a hammer chieftain.

Kill the two grunts manning the turrets then go to the front door where the DMR and the two health packs are. This will lure a good deal of the grunts and jackals outside for easier killing including the two fuel rod grunts.

I don't even bother with the Warthog at the end. Camo is the way to go. You can jump up the rocks on to get behind the AA gun; the one that doesn't have the active camo. Just be careful of the wraith.

Jump up the plants while camo to get the button. If the hammer chieftan is there, wait for him to run away (common sense).

This probably doesn't do anything, but I personally find it helps during the Falcon part to sing the Sabre Dance like Heavy Weapons Guy.

Managed to survive until 3 minutes from the very end in HvZ, now it's back to Mythic to fill my free time!

And I think it's safe to say, Tyrant, that A) grenade jumping isn't worth it yet and B) your little trick on Exodus has been thoroughly curb-stomped by Bungie's thoughtful, if sometimes overzealous, placement of invisibarriers.
