Congrats Aura! You definitely earned your spot on the list : ) I can't even imagine finishing PoA anytime in the near future... I'm actually still stuck on ONI: Sword Base : /

I killed myself twice when doing flips in space. :-(
Then I failed hard at the comms room. :-(

This is gonna take a while...

EDIT: Congrats Aura!

Flips in space are a death wish, only do them when you're out in the open.
Congratulations Aura, hopefully I'll get that third spot.
Also; I'm having problems with the third wave, I always seem to run out of DMR Ammo.

Better hurry, I'm only one level behind you and from what I hear, The Package is easy.

I don't know about what you're talking concerning flips. Flips saved my life on many occasions; they were an important part of my repertoire. I only crashed once or twice.

Congratulations, Aura! It's about damn time! :P

Yeah, I had a few bad flips in space, and the Comms Room is where I died most. I just couldn't get a solid strategy down for it. Are you bringing a PP or the Sword? They both work, but I found the PP to be more effective.

The Esrb rating should be changed to rated M for Minors cause thats all you see these days...

pretty pointless good job...youve earned nothing

Such an ironic post, forum dweller...

In other news:

Exodus 2 has FINALLY been complete

It's much shorter than the previous. I had several runs that in my opinion started out FAR BETTER only to be cut short by something or another, but this pretty much still manages to sum up all the good strategies I use for the mission, including a relatively easy way to kill the first Fuel Rod Chieftain. I'm going to leave this one as is for now.

Michael, I watched your video for the last area, and I must admit I'm impressed, but given the number of times I was unable to succeed at replicating it, I cannot include it as a primary means of success for the guide. However, with your permission, I'd love to use it as a secondary method similar to the Kamikaze methods in previous guides.

Nice job Tyrant, I'll have to check out that far easier method of killing the chieftain. Sometimes, you'll run out of plasma pistol ammo and when you're looking for another one, his shields recharge. To be clear, this is the chieftain on the shade turret landing pad, right?

I'm very complimented that you asked me that; I would love to see my strategy in the guide. Thanks for asking! Now that I think about it, it really is a kamikaze run. I didn't realize it since I had died only once at that part. I actually got unlucky; sometimes the second wraith won't bother you.

I tried the Sword once and it went horribly wrong. That said, the PP didn't work either today.
I just couldn't get the Elites to not rush me.

So maybe the Sword would be the better option?

I just rush the Comms Room and kill the Elites in about 20 seconds. It takes too long otherwise and my chances of survival are equally low for both methods (for me). I wrote down how I like doing that area before too. Not the best, but whatever works for me.

And congrats Aura, seeing as you were so passionate about getting 1st I guess it wasn't your highest wish to come 2nd but that's a good enough place. Nice!

Congrats Aura! You worked so hard on PoA. Truly impressive.

And also, for anyone who has cleared LNOS, how did you go about taking out the last four ultras. Other than clearing out the first section of the corvette, they are my only real difficulty.

Armor abilities, weapons, anything will help. ;)

I played some Mythic Attack to get the "Points, Points" challenge today. I picked Holdout...

What a demoralizing experience...a buttload of brutes, limited supplies, many deaths. I had one life left at the end and one concussion rifle elite who I cut up with the sword.

I think the problem was I didn't have a good place to hold off. And also, it was five waves of lots of enemies. Then again, it was only Heroic with the Mythic Skull...

I'm depressed.

Hid in a corner, then assassinated them when they came out. Bad strategy, got killed many times trying to do it. The dual plasma rifle elite almost killed me. Yeah...stay away from that guy. Hologram might save your life, but don't count on it.

I just used the drop shield. You can download my run and watch how I dealt with it, just don't follow my "strategy" for the bridge, LOL!

No black and white in the blue.

Aura, congratulations! You definitely deserve it.

In Hubb Lebowski-related news, I finally got past Sword Base earlier today! I'm finally moving on in my Mythic journey. I'll probably tackle Tip of the Spear next, but I don't think I'll be able to get to it for a few days.

Thanks for the encouragement and good luck on Long Night of Solace, Gazas.

Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror #11
ODST Mythic Conqueror #2
Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

I've noticed a few people mentioning certain aspects of LNoS that are pretty hard. Hopefully this advice can help out.

Comms Room:
After killing the 2 elites that jetpack up to you after landing, I found that by far the safest spot to hide is along the beam that runs across the ship's hull. It's time consuming though but it's still that much safer.

Exhibit A

From this vantage point you can watch the elites patrol and learn their patterns and when to strike. For example, the rangers will tend to run back and forth underneath your position. When they run, pause, run, pause etc, pay attention to when it runs under the beam. Drop down, assassinate, use drop shield and jump back up to your beam. Rinse and repeat.

Exhibit B
Exhibit C

Hangar:
Killing grunts is the key to triggering the elites to rage and when they do make sure you have a plasma pistol and needle rifle. Wait in the comms room and pay attention to the door. When an elite comes through, drop shield, wait till they're half way through the corridor then retreat to either side of the room. One overcharge weakens their shields to the point that 1 needle will take them out, then it's just a simple headshot.

Exhibit D

Bridge:
Assassinating everything here is a good way to go, but it's tricky, revolves around luck and can often go wrong. Usually at least taking out the patrolling spec ops elite will suffice as everything else can be killed normally. The 4 grunts will die easily to your needle rifle and the other 2 spec ops elites can be taken out with a few pp shots and a headshot. The general may be a big threat, but you can get him to hide behind the pillar behind the reach hologram, putting him into a crouch state that results in him not moving unless he directly sees you or you fire.

Exhibit E

Hangar part 2:
The regular enemies can be killed normally but with the elites you'll generally need to move up and engage them in order to kill them.

Exhibit F

As for the 4 ultras of the apocalypse, staying in the junction room and performing assassinations is unfortunately the best thing you can do as entering the hangar just makes the elites dog you.

Exhibit G

I hope the advice helps for those still struggling. Also, thanks for the congrats everyone. I'm still just glad that I don't have to go through it again.

Anyone who can do PoA on Mythic difficulty has my respect.

Well I'm at the mass driver right now. Here's hoping fate is finally shining down on me.

Carrying on the edit's from my prior post;
Got the field marshall...finally. The guy didn't whip out his sword when the other guys died like I heard and we ended up playing one loooong game of cat and mouse.

Edit: YES!!!! OH GOD YES!!!!!!!!!! I DID IT FINALLY!!!!!!!

*calms down and composes self*

Good news! I finally did PoA :D I guess I'm now Reach's second conqueror too now huh :)

Ah I can't tell you all how good that feels having finally bested that which has bested me time and time again. It took me considerably longer in the end (considering the last 4 elites were so disagreeable with me) than my predicted forecast of the level; a rough estimate of 1:30:00 to 1:50:00 but who cares. That glorious time of 2:23:32 is music to my ears.

And for convenience sake, all my films can be downloaded in my Reach Mythic fileset here.

Here are the game stats for all levels:
Winter Contingency
ONI: Sword Base
Nightfall
Tip of the Spear
Long Night of Solace
Exodus
New Alexandria
The Package
The Pillar of Autumn
Lone Wolf

Lastly, good luck to everyone else who is still going at it. Reach Mythic is tough, but it ain't invincible ;)

But before I forget, Blu Bomber, Muzz, the rest of the crew, now you can all officially stop bugging me to get PoA done. You guys can be annoying beyond belief but you were there in the tough moments and you helped me formulate some sound strategies for several of the levels and for that you have my thanks :)

*slow clap*

About time :P

But seriously good job. My constant nagging paid off. Too bad you aren't first though.

Coolio :)

Yesterday I 12 skulled PoA on Heroic with only 1 death. Very surprising. The one death was still frustrating when my Plasma Pistol decided to RANDOMLY DESPAWN on the FRG and Hammer Chieftain wave at Holdout. Had to pick one up from a jackal. I'll try it on Legendary today, I wonder how many deaths the increased projectile speed and enemy health will put me back...

I can't bring myself to do LNoS over and over again as my 6th mission. So I'm putting it off and moving on to Exodus, New Alexandria & The Package instead.
Then when I'm at 7/9 I won't get as frustrated by the hard missions.

Right on. This is a much quicker way of dealing with him to. I usually lose shields in the process if I'm not fast enough, but that's not a big deal.

Yeah, like I said, it's harder to go wrong with the Wraith. It may take a bit longer, but you can take a lot more damage AND you have infinite mortars :-)

Thanks for contributing! While it may not be something I'd recommend to newcomers, I can see seasoned Mythicers getting a kick out of giving this a go. It certainly is entertaining to watch! Would you mind rendering that portion of your film? That way I can have HBO post a link directly to your file for people to watch and download :-)

I would love to do that, the only problem is that I don't have Bungie Pro or any render minutes; I've been saving my money for Dead Rising 2 and Black Ops. However, front page glory does sound nice...

Ah yes, of course. Turn it up to Legendary and suddenly the proverbial feces hits the proverbial fan.

Lots of deaths for me on Pillar of Autumn today! Oh dear! Its getting more comfortable though. Barring random stuff (which, of course, is what I die to) I've got a strategy down for the whole level. The three Ultras in the smelting room still give me a lot of grief (thats where I've the largest number of deaths today) and the holdout is now tough, but manageable. Just got to be quick grabbing a PP before the Chieftains drop!

I'm not really having trouble with the Zealots anymore, still takes a bit of patience though, and I've finally learned where to hit the bleedin' carrier! Unless Aura figured out my jump-shortcuts in there (not watched his behemoth of a film yet!) I'll still have something new to show you guys soonish.

From resumes, its consistently only taking around 1 hour 20 though :)

If you upload your films we can verify that you actually did what you say. And when you do them all, get you on the Conquerors board as well. No pruf, no truf as they say.

I'd also be very surprised if you actually got 3min 47sec on Nightfall. That sort of time would take multiple attempts on a riskier route than mine; not something someone just looking for completion would do. It would also require you to also nail the forklift glitch first try. Since thats a second faster than the current record of 3:48; colour me skeptical.

Oh, you will have a problem with it, no offense. If you haven't noticed, playing from Rally Point Bravo without Iron on is much different than actually playing Mythic from the beginning and then approaching the end.

Your heart races. You wonder how long you'll last. You notice your sweaty hands are affecting your performance. You're afraid to move and you constantly look everywhere to make sure you aren't being watched. Wait, maybe I should start talking about video games and less about my Saturday night. Zing!

I practiced The Package today. When I heard Emily say something about about a Wraith, I was so excited, I quickly jumped in my Banshee and sped off to where it gets dropped off by a Phantom. It never did. I don't know what caused it, but in the future, I will wait until I actually see a blue mortar.

Campaign data reset :-(

I did a search but haven't seen an official response to this issue or solution. Tried signing out and signing back in, but no dice. At least I have everything in my service record, plus films and such, but it kinda bites that I have to go through most of the campaign against simply to reach New Alexandria...
