I kind of feel like I wanna finish the mission like you guys did, but there's really no point, I died three times there already and I just wanna get it finished. Back in Halo 3 it took us hours and more to complete a mission, then we found all those tricks, so why use our old tactics when we have new and better ones you know? =)

You won't hear any complaining from me. I'm a big advocate of making levels easier.

But now, RC Master is probably going to complete LNOS before I complete POA and he's going to snatch fourth place.

Now all we need to do is get an easy trick for Pillar of Autumn...

Anti-Teabag self-destruct mechanisms ftw

Holy fawk, the newb combo is going to be the only way to get rid of those elites on tilt. I tried to kill a general with tilt on legendary(btw, I have completed legendary solo so it is not like I fail) with a dmr, and ended up taking 4 clips to take down his shields. He hid and recovered his shields twice so it isnt that many shots but still, that's insane.

Nah, just belive (yeah that's right), and you might just make it. Sure if he uses this method he'll probably do it quite easily but he also has the whole mission before that area, not hard, but it's random enough to hold him off. Be like Dark and nerd it out, you might even get it done tomorrow. =)

In my case, I think it's safe to say that LNoS has become..."not too bad"

I just watched RC Master's video of POA. Good stuff! RC Master showed me a lot of ammo crates I didn't know existed. I honestly did not know that the Spartan Laser in the caves was there. There's another one at the bottom of the stairs when you're shooting the turrets.

To AuraSoldier, Legendary smile, jew man man, and anyone else who has beaten POA: How the HELL is this level not as bad as LNOS? At least at the standoff at the end of LNOS, you had a few decent places to take cover with an ample amount of ammo. RC Master spent the entire landing pad section shooting through a hole in a flimsy piece of sheet metal while coming close to death SO many times. Let's not even talk about the Zealots at the end. I got intimidated by the level by WATCHING SOMEONE ELSE PLAY. That's never happened to me.

Are you trolling? Of course it took four "magazines" (I assume that's what you meant) to take down his shields; Tilt would do that to you. Plasma pistol is the way to go, but overcharging it and shooting it at them doesn't work anymore.

*sigh*. If someone could find a way to, say, kick Emily out of the Mass Driver and use it against everyone else, that would be GREAT.

In theory, your pelican gun in the hangar with Jorge should make things easier, but don't expect a free ride. Has anyone tried that one side objective in New Alexandria where you have to clear that building of ultras and engineers? Try shooting your gun at the elites even after you've pushed the engineers away or killed them. Be prepared to sit there for a LONG time, especially on the last wave. Tilt sucks, doesn't it?

I loled at "nerd it out." Verbing nouns FTW.

I am NOT a nerd. I don't spend all my free time playing video games! In fact, on Halloween evening, to show how much of a nerd I AM NOT, I'm watching two hours of Season 3 of The Big Bang Theory. :P

*Sigh*, you actually can but you can't aim at the landing pad, you cant even get up there in time to shoot the first wave of brutes. You can't hit the chieftan phantom but you can hit the other phantoms making quick work of the plasma chieftan phantom and the other one.

I will try and make a video of me doing it.

You can also bypass the zealots by launching to the mack gun platform and running down the stair to activate the cruiser. However this launch can be had to do and you might get shot by the zealots whilst waiting for the cruiser to come in.

Like wise I will try to get a video of this.

I will inform you if I come up with anything else.

I like how you didn't mention that I was the one shooting the phantoms whilst you kept launching on top of the pelican trying to get out of the map >_>

At any rate, Muzz summed it up quite nicely. If you do launch up to the Mass Driver, you can take out the phantoms bar the one with the hammer and fr chiefs.

As for the zealots, when we went through, as Muzz hid up top, 3 of the zealots stayed down and just looked at him, offering me 3 easy assassinations. The last guy just stayed downstairs and didn't cause either of us any trouble.

Mythic PoA just got more interesting...

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

Long Night of Solace has officially been "broken" by our very own MoleN1.

More details to come. Excellent find, Mole :-)

EDIT: Whoops, I see Muzza found it too. lol.

I believe that's my line. However, who would pass up the opportunity to use the Pelican turret? That's just funny as hell.

Edit: Rendered the LNoS clip because I had enough minutes. The way MoleN was describing it made it sound risky, but the way Muzza was talking about it makes it sound like it's not that hard to pull off...

"That's not an Elite, it's a man in a costume."

Edit: The clip has finished rendering. Looks easy enough to pull off.

Its very easy to do. Its only risky if you do it during one of the waves of enemies. Ive been practicing and I find it best to do it during the initial wave or right before the jackal wave.

BTW, MoleN messed up on where he said you "brake" the level. I was able to locate the exact spots for him though, and figure out how to despawn the object blocking your view.

FYI:

In regards to the Pelican glitch in New Alexandria, if you are invulnerable there like you are in the turret, then we may have indeed broken that mission too.

All you would need to do is activate that switch at the beginning of the mission and fly a Falcon through that building everytime you plan on being in the air for awhile. Even getting lost in the city wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Speaking of New Alexandria, I haven't really seen any videos of anyone yet, and that is the next mission on my list right after I finish Package, but I was just wondering if anyone has found this-

On the tower where you have to go and take down the jammer that is in Reflection, and the buggers come down, you can fly your falcon behind the building, and through some bars, and skip all those tiers of enemies, and go straight to the elevator. I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not. Perhaps I'll go record a vid as after reading my explanation, it seems very vague.

Also, I would like to present another Halloween present courtesy of Tyrant, Vince, General K., and myself.

A nice pleasant Mythic Fail. Please watch with the following commentary-

As far I know the switch only spawns at the point where you've got to kill those 6 shade turrets around the oni building.

EDIT: I just tested it. It only spawns at the checkpoint "last one out.....turn out the lights". So using this method isn't really practical except for being invulnerable whilst destroying those six shade turrets.

Not to be pedantic, but I don't really consider this "breaking" the level as it still requires a bit of skill. I think that the forklift glitch in Nightfall is "breaking the level". As I mentioned before, due to the Tilt Skull and the stubborn nature of elites and their cover-taking abilities, you should be prepared to sit in the turret for a long time. You might even get frustrated and hop out to make it go faster. Don't believe me? Try doing the secondary objective in New Alexandria where you have to clear the roof of engineers and elites on Mythic. At least at that part, you can shoot the elites off the building.

Pelican glitch? Bungie said the pelican was indeed flyable in this week's update. They showed it right next to a screenshot of New Alexandria. That didn't take the community long...

Approaching SinoViet, most people think you have to take out the shades and land on the South landing pad, then make your way up the series of stairs to the elevator taking out a bunch of bad guys. HA! Those people are newbs!

Approach the building from the North-East corner. Around the level of the landing pad, and look up. You should see some beams connecting the stair assembly to an outer structure that encloses the elevator and stairway area. Between the most Northern beam and the circular enclosure structure, there is more than enough space to fly your Falcon straight up into the stair way area. Rain death from above!

You can thank RC Master and his pleasant disposition.

The Mythic Fail was pretty funny. Those co-op Mythic sessions look like a lot of fun! Except when it's four in the morning and you haven't beaten the level...

P.S. The hunter window jump skip in POA is hard. I don't mean it's hard getting past the hunters, I mean it's hard jumping through the window itself.

The other switches for Club Errera would be quite useful I could imagine seeing as the Hunters don't spawn and all the enemies do nothing.
