I'm wondering if running past the ultra in the warehouse after the hunters is a viable strategy. I did it no problem in my practice run; I just ran while he was in a hand-to-hand fight with Emily. I'm also wondering if that was a fluke.

A co-op attempt by Gazas and I.
That was a pro AI kill. At least it happened in the very beginning of the mission and not the end.

You guys are already starting Mythic co-op and leaving me in the dust, although it's always been that way. I haven't even finished ODST Mythic co-op!

Tip of the Spear on co-op sucks, you have to get into both sides of the Falcon.
Although attempting to splatter hunters was fun.

Blame Stosh.

The Fuel Rod Elite is always the Field Marshall.

But I could have sworn the elite on my practice run was a zealot! He had the distinctive red armor and everything!

Oh well. I guess I'll put your video on fast forward, do everything I need to do and the come back to watch the zealot part again.

Also, who's interested in seeing my Exodus five-minute finale run? If there's enough people, I'll buy Bungie Pro and render it. I think it's cool.

EDIT:

Pelican turret is much stronger then the Falcon turret. Just ask Gazas.
He just busted LNoS in only 2 minutes less then Michael and he didn't rush anything (unless killing all 4 God ELites of the Apocalypse in 2 minutes counts as rushing).
The "4 God Elites of the Apocalypse" are now the "4 Laughing Stocks of the Universe".

Woah, woah, woah. Don't you mean to say "2 minutes MORE than Michael?" He completed his level in fifty-nine mintues, I did mine in fifty-six (I'm rounding here). Not to mention the fact that my video actually includes the ending cutscene.

Yeah, I meant 2 mins more. But his time was 2 minutes less efficient than yours if you'll see it that way.

Anyway I apparently said something funny tngith while in Mythic chat but I can't remember what, can either Gazas, Tyrant or Vince remind what I said that was so funny?

Also it seems that in space I am my own worst enemy; in a practice run the only thing that killed me was me. Spacial awareness failure and tricks don't mix well.
Otherwise the Comms room took a lot of retries but then I cleared everything from that point on (turret room was easy, I killed the turret guy first then hid from his buddy who went and manned a second turret!) up until I started testing MoleN's tip about the Pelican turret despawning:
I can now deifnitively say (as can Mole) that if the gun is removed from the Pelican you only have a very small window of opportunity to get in otherwise you'll be shut out and have to go about things the hard way. ONLY MAN THE PELICAN'S NOSE TURRET WHEN YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU'LL ONLY NEED TO GET OUT TO END THE MISSION!!!!

QFT. I get there, after 4 days of hell, only to have the turret despawn, leading to my demise. I am taking a two day hiatus from Campaign (and maybe video games as a whole). I'll conquer it by this weekend.

Twenty-ninth Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror
Eleventh Halo 3: ODST Mythic Conqueror
Fifth Halo: Reach Mythic Conqueror

Wow, just finished my Mythic minus Iron run of POA. I know I shouldn't jump to conclusions, as a no Iron run feels very different than a Mythic run, but the level is not that bad. I know, I said the same thing about LNOS when I was practicing it, but seriously, I only had four deaths and two or three were experimental! I died once at the beginning; I was experimenting with mongoose paths. I died when I charged with no shields at the remaining concussion elite in the three ultra metal smelting room because I got angry that Emily got knocked off the catwalk and into the abyss. I made the jump into the window on the first try, thanks to Vincent's tip. Died once on the pad; I was testing out the timings on when to go to the DMR crate. I also reverted to last checkpoint, because a brute threw a grenade at me when I was grabbing DMR ammo and knocked the ammo off the cliff; I'll be sure to make sure there's no brutes around next time.

I DID die once using RC Master's "stair strategy" when an zealot decided to run down the stairs after me. In the strategy's defense, I will say I was using the hologram (stupid, the Marshal (I swear, they look so much like zealots; if they didn't have the horns, they would be almost indistinguishable) shoots fuel rod cannons at the hologram. Zealots like to charge you, but I think something about their AI script at that part will make them stay on the first level unless something is REALLY close to them like my hologram and then after it dissipated, me. I did find the hologram useful when climbing up to the second level to make the elites fall back.

The mass driver has a huge luck element. Even if I jump in and mass drive one phantom and jump out (Maybe I should shoot two. Why not?), it's still REALLY close. Shooting isn't as bad as I thought; you only have to let go of the trigger for a split second before firing again. I need to do more testing, so I saved the checkpoint right next to it. I plan to spend my free time tomorrow practicing my mass driving.

EDIT: If I don't finish the level this weekend, I'll finish it next weekend when my prize controller sticks from HBO's headshot contest come. Despite Louis Wu's thumb's up and the testimonies on the maker's website, I think the placebo effect has a lot to do with it. I would never actually buy one myself, but hey, free stuff. As long as my skills get better, I'll take it, even if it is just a placebo.

Halo 3 (31st), ODST (14th) and Reach (4th) Mythic Conqueror. (Mythic is Solo, Legendary, All skulls on + scoring on and no deaths/saves).

Staff Writer and speedrun record holder at highspeedhalo.net

Ignorance is the true enemy of all things.

Rocking Bungie.net for over 8 years!

I feel LNoS is gonna be frustrating. Watched Gazas' run, decided to have a go, got to the Corvette, died as soon as I reach the ground level. 25 minutes wasted!

I'm gonna have to practice that section...

They have the same colour armour, but the Field Marshall has slightly different armour configuration.

Yeah, I've done that a few times. You have to get pretty close to the Ultra (with the use of water crates) to prompt Emile to get close enough. I found that weird 'pp the edge of the thing while moving up and down the stairs to make the ultra fall off' fairly easy to do, and of course its very safe, so thats what I decided to do.

Prepare to get to that part and fail a few times. With the final area simplified by the Pelican glitch, the Comm Room is probably the hardest part on the level.

What are you bringing with you for the Comm Room though? Are you grabbing the sword for inside the launch facility or a plasma pistol from outside?

RC Master, plasma pistol and hologram is the way to go for the comms room. Even if you jump down and assassinate the two elites on the terminals, you have to deal with two dual wielding rangers; they're devastating at close range, so I found the plasma pistol easier.

You made the elite fall down on purpose? I thought it was a fluke. How did you do that?

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone can help me real quick. I'm in the middle of New Alexandria, and I'm confused about a secondary objective.

I have cleared Sinovet, and the Hospital, and my new objective is "Neutralize the Elites and Engineers." Does anyone know where this is located? I'd really like to know before randomly flying around and eventually getting killed by banshees.

Next to club Errera (the club with the disco easter egg) I believe. It is the building in front of the entrance of club errera.

Yes I just found it. I'm getting chased by 6 banshees though, so I'm trying to lead them away and circle back. I'm guessing I should target the engineers first?

I think some of the elites have FRG so watch out! I haven't had this secondary objective on Mythic so I don't really know what to do, but shooting the elites of the building is a good stratigy.

So I took them out, and I'm on to club erra, but I have 10 banshees chasing me, so I'm doing loops around the sky, and making passes at the entrance to the club, trying to take out as many covies as I can before I have to book it. Anyone know of any health packs available to me? I already used the one outside of Ivory Tower.

Did you use the 2 switches to activate the easter egg in club errera? This makes it a lot easier, because you now only have to kill the DJ and 2 bartender brutes (there is a needler rifle on the stairs next to the jammer what makes the 3 brutes short work).

Oh geez I totally forgot. I thought there was only one switch taht activated the rave easter egg? What is the second switch?

On top of the club itself. watch from 2:35

Make sure to deactivate the jammer first, because I don't know what the results will be if you start killing the brutes right away.

Oh ok. What does that second switch do besides change the song? Also, do the enemies attack me if I just sneak by and destroy the jammer? If so, which enemies should I kill first? Does this get rid of the hunters?

  • 11.02.2010 1:28 PM PDT

If you activate both switches the grunts will never attack you when you deactivae the jammer.

And as long as you don't kill any one or deactivate the jammer the enemies in the club will keep dancin'. So you can just walk over to the jammer.

Yes the hunters will be removed. When you deactivate the jammer be sure to have the Needler rifle. There is one Dj brute he has a concussion rifle. And 2 brutes at 2 different bars. You can look for them b4 deactivating the jammer so you know where they will be.
