While I wouldn't exactly say I "broke" the comm room, I did manage to find a way to make it infinitely easier and far less dangerous. Here's a hint, you can bring a full rocket launcher there :-)
I did wonder about the RLs the troopers have. Seemed like a lot of effort to secure one with sufficient ammo though :/
So, I'm guessing: Sword + RL + sprint. Slice the two that come up, drop down onto the beam, rocket the two ones on the consoles, then... wait for the troopers bring one of the last two down onto the ground floor and rocket away. Retreat behind plasma rifle box, hope the last one/two comes at you, rocket or sword as appropriate.
I didn't really use the PP I brought along, so it would make sense to bring something with a bit more oomphf instead.
Speaking of which: sometimes the troopers that get dropped off by the pelican have a sniper rifle, how effective is one of those against against a ranger on mythic?
Two shots = dead Ranger :-)
What I've been doing is swording the two that wander up, then jumping down and rocketing the two on the console, then chilling on the beam until the survivors come to me.
I have indeed thought about bringing a full sniper as well which would make the hangar battle easier, but here's the catch...
Securing the rockets isn't really difficult at all. It just takes time. For me, it was easier to get 8 rockets than to get 28 sniper rounds. But of course, if you have the patience, it's certainly possible to bring both a full RL and SR with you. Once you're done with the comms room, you can drop the RL (which will despawn) and pick up a Needle Rifle. Then you can use the sniper on the rangers and the needle rifle on the rest. This of course includes the two focus Elites. Again, though, it all depends on how long you're willing to wait to get full ammo on both. Like I said, it isn't difficult. It just takes time.
