Eh... Did Tyrant do something to his Mythic guide videos on HBO? When I try to watch those on Sword Base, Nightfall, ToTS and Exodus, it says that video is not found or access is denied. Is someone else having this problem, or am I the only one?

I just checked. Everything looks okay to me.

I just tried to watch the videos and I'm only able to watch Winter Contingency and LNOS.

They seemed to be working ok for me. Do the direct download links work? If not, try downloading the WMVs from b.net and watch those in conjunction with reading the text of the guide. All the info you need is in there.

FYI to both of you. The landing pad has a Dropshield.

Damn really? I'm completely blanking on that.

I found this too, today. May have done it a different way, but I got the same results. It'd work well on a Legendary/Heroic speedrun. RC, get to it!

Hell naw, Legendary Speedruns are too much effort! I learnt that from taking on the task of running ToTS both Heroic and Legendary. I'm fine holding the Easy PoA run time ;)

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Alright, so this is starting to get on my nerves. Is there any way to prevent/predict weapon despawns on the landing pad? Every single time, I've had at least one weapon disappear...

How many weapons are you taking with you? In my run, at that time I only had a Needle Rifle, a DMR and I juggled a Plasma Pistol up and placed it next to the "hidden" DMR crate. Dropped it there and left it untill the second wave came in.
You shouldn't really need that many weapons with you. As long as you have (close to) full Needle Rifle and DMR, you're pretty much set. Well, I was anyway.

What are you talking about? Theres 9 of us hat have beat PoA on Mythic. You must be looking at Tyrants list of missions he has completed.

As for your weapon despawn problem Tyrant, I dont know exactly what causes the weapon despawn. I noticed they tend to despawn shortly before the 2nd wave is triggered and again as the wave is coming in.

I may have figured out a solution to it. If you go back and pick it up again from time to time, the system seems to "remember" it better. Perhaps the despawns are geared more towards "forgotten" weapons? I too only bring a DMR, Needle Rifle, and a Plasma Pistol from the previous enounter. It's usually the plasma pistol that disappears.

So far, though, this seems to be working...

EDIT: Found something very interesting in regards to the ending segment as well :)

Did you guys do this for Halo 2? I bet it'd be a pain just getting to all the skulls to enable them first the way that was setup. I seem to remember one skull that nobody could really see an effect from (Anger, maybe?). I wonder if it was ever figured out. I know I never saw a difference. Plus, getting the IWHBYD skull was a project in itself. lol

And so there were ten.

Lots of goodies in The Pillar of Autumn for those of you who either haven't beaten it yet or want a faster time. The run itself was just over an hour. lol. If I hadn't frozen at the zealots I would have been able to do it in well under :-)

Okay, so now that I've snagged the 10th spot, it's time to share some secrets!

It looks like RC and Dark already found one of them, but the Ultras in the smelting room and the Hunters that follow can be skipped completely, and in the process, you get full health and shields! Check out the video to see how.

Of the three deloads, only one of them is necessary. Nearly all of Bone Yard can be skipped, and the Wraith can easily be rushed as long as the secondary gunner is down along with the Jackal Marksmen. The only deload I do is the first half of Bone Yard. I've tried several different methods, but I just can't seem to find a spot where I won't get tagged. Oh well. No biggie. And YES, you can still bring the dropshield with you!

In regards to the end segment, the only Zealot you need to kill is the Field Marshall. The other three can be skipped. That was another place I hesitated in the film which could have made it faster, but basically, you can kill the Field Marshall, then hop up to the Mass Driver, trigger the scripted ships, and just wait there with your dropshield until it's time. I've actually done this with no shields before too. So basically, the hardest part is now the landing pad. Everything else is cake.

Enjoy!

Once again; Congratulations Tyrant!
I like how you dealt with the Zealots. Or should I say, avoided dealing with them.
However, I was a bit concerned with how you dealt with the Fuel Rod Chieftan in that enclosed area. I would've avoided that situation personally and gone for a more "open" area to engage him.

I second this. T'was indeed interesting watching your rendered run of PoA, even if it took my browser ages to finally load it all.

Having watched your run is even getting me into the mood to redo PoA. My two and a half hour's run is pretty abismal now compared to everyone elses...

Thanks! And that goes for everyone else's nice compliments too (except for you General K... j/k! :) ).

I attempted fighting that Chieftain from a few different locations and finally settled on that one. I found it fairly easy to dodge his fuel rods from there and I had plenty of room to back up. As a result, he's never killed me :-)

You can use it to run right next to the mass driver, then you can jump onto the girder, onto the exterior wall, and over the railing so you're actually standing right next to the mass driver, completely bypassing the Field Marshall. BUT. The trigger for the mass driver sequence is at the bottom of the stairs here, and even if you triggered it, the FM would blast the hell out of you in two seconds flat. So you need to kill him at least. If anyone remembers me mentioning that you don't need to kill the Zealots here: this is how its done. But they will ping you a little, and you'll have difficulty getting here with full shields, and you'll be unable to bring multiple Armour Abilites here, so you'll either have to camp somewhere very dangerous, or go without the Hologram. So I take 'em out.

You can count on 3-5 PPs from the Grunts after the Keyes cutscene and you can bring another with you from before the cutscene. So ammo isn't so much of issue.

You can use the Holo to draw the zealots out if they're cowering behind the pillars a lot.

I just, I don't know why you want to make it more stressful than it needs to be. You can honestly take your time, its not a race, and clear the entire warehouse, shield up, and chill on the stairs without having to crouch awkwardly by the guard-rail and hope the zealots don't hit you too much.

In other news; I convinced my gf to do the campaign CLABOSO style (Co-op Legendary, All But One Skull On (no blind)). We've done Winter Contingency, ONI: Sword Base, Tip of the Spear and Pillar of Autumn so far. I'm hoping I can convince her to do full Mythic with me at some point :)

Try not to read the following like I'm attempting to be a prick...

Is there a particular reason why firsties are so important to you? As we've discussed before, if I didn't take it from your run, you aren't getting credit for it in the guide. Even if you found this earlier, this was a method I stumbled across on my own, like many others throughout my Mythic journey. Again, I really don't understand the motive behind these posts. I don't find other Conquerors doing this. No offense.

In regards to why I did my method rather than fighting it out... personally, I found it to be far more stressful to try and hit the constantly dodging dual wielding Zealots then to "crouch awkwardly behind the stairs" and wait for the Cruiser to move into position. Plus it takes far less time, which means if things go south, I didn't waste as much of it. For me, this is an important factor in Mythic since much of the frustration from death comes from the amount of time I've already invested in the mission. The shorter I can make it, the better.

That aside, gratz on the GF thing. The last GF I had thought Halo was a Beyonce song...

True that!
Spending 2 hours 40 minutes to die to the last Elite on LNoS isn't an experience I'd want anyone else to share. I really should've practised the entire hanger before trying to tackle it in a real run. I can thank Legendary Smile for the messages to help me through it though, it probably would've been longer if not for him.
