the insane Four Horsemen

Good to see my name has caught on! :D

Yeah, it's fitting, although they all got dibs on the handle "Death". I hate those bastards...

EDIT: I wonder though...how would that last battle go coop? One of the players could board the Pelican gun...but what would the other one (or three) do in the meantime? Stay in cover and assasinate Ultra-@holes when opportunity strikes?

When the dust settles, you will learn what true terror is.

Don't see a post about a successful multi-mythic run, so I'm assuming you didn't have one last night Tyrant/Shadow? I aced my test today and when I get home later tonight (like 10 central time) I'll be ready to hit up some LNoS multi-mythic mayhem. Who's with me?

Ach...I wish I could join up but it seems you're all too many time zones behind me. :S

Fun before Victory.

I used the Save and Quit trick, so I haven't done a true Mythic run of this level yet, but I think the game forgot what I was holding before getting into the sabre once I was on the corvette. Energy Sword was fine, but the Armour Lock I had due to the drop shield despawning after I picked up Sprint to get an assassination was replaced by said drop shield. Win. But I'd also lost most of my rocket ammo and ended up with just 3 shots. Sucked, but the sword still being the same as before meant I could still combat the final elite well.

Also, when it came to battling the two Ultras in the hanger before "the insane Four Horsemen", I couldn't use the Pelican to kill them. But I did notice they were falling off the platforms when trying to stick Jorge, so I got out the Pelican and got into a position where I could assassinate them when they did fall. Managed to get back into the Pelican fine to battle the final 4 Ultras. So just because the Pelican has no gun visable on it doesn't apparently mean you can't get back into it.

I don't know if I'm just cursed or what, but the marines getting dropped off by the pelican all have assault rifles. almost every time...

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

ATTENTION!!!

To run along side the ODST Legendary Guide release, I would like to release a separate series to my YouTube channel featuring Halo Reach Team Mythic runs. Though I would prefer to have the same person run every mission with me, it isn't 100 percent paramount that it be the same person every time. My best times to play are Saturdays after 12 noon EST, and Wednesdays up until about 8pm.

Qualifications:

1) You MUST be a current Mythic Conqueror of Halo Reach.

2) US Residents are preferred (for both time zone and connectivity).

I'd like to start as soon as this Saturday if possible with Long Night of Solace (I already have Winter Contingency and Nightfall complete).

I would prefer to do this four-player co-op style in which case only ONE of the other players needs to be a conqueror as long as the other two can follow orders. In this scenario, both The Package and Winter Contingency have been completed. I plan to release these on a weekly basis along side the ODST guides, so if these two days work for you, PLEASE let me know and we'll get started as soon as possible.

Thank you! This should be a lot of fun :-)

I'm always game. My gf actually runs calls on the ambulance (she's an EMT) all night long saturday nights, so I'm mostly alone all night that night, so that's one of my most open nights.

Yes, that was my fault. My girlfriend recently ran into some very serious personal troubles that we found out about that day, and is scheduled for emergency surgery this Friday.

If you're game for this Saturday, I definitely am. Particularly since we already have two missions down, it would be great to keep going :-) Our Halo teamwork is unparalleled :-D What time you wanna meet up on XBL?

Hope the surgery goes well!

Halo 3 Mythic Conqueror #11
ODST Mythic Conqueror #2
Reach Mythic Conqueror #2
Halo: CEA Mythic Conqueror #1
Halo 4 Mythic Conqueror #1

*Still hates LNoS*

If it weren't for the incentive to do the weekly and improve my time, I likely wouldn't be trying to do it right now.

  • 04.07.2011 12:09 AM PDT

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

I figured i would run through it again and try to do it all at once. So much went wrong! I accidentally shot a rocket at Kat before i got into the sabre, then i ran out of rockets dealing with the rangers because a marine somehow sent one back down to where he came from. Jerk marines...

Yeah, confirmed that as well this morning when doing a daily challenge. However, I guess the important thing here is to NOT get out of the pelican at any time, specially when the Horsemen are around. Getting back in even with a quick dropshield will be extremely risky. As for the two ultras prior to the horsemen, I got 'em with the pelican gun. It's all a matter of persistance and patience. They will jump into cover quite often, but they won't be able to resist engaging you or Hor-heh on the ground level.

EDIT: Tyrant, I'm not a Mythic Conqueror, but I'm willing to learn from the best and to follow orders to the letter. If you'll have my gun I'm game for saturday.

I would be willing to do some 4 player co-op. I can't guarantee I'll be available Saturday but I most likely will.

Tyrant, I'm totally in for Saturday, and I've already helped with the package and WC. Let's knock LNoS' teeth out! ;)

Also, if it comes down to it, my roommate has done a few missions on mythic (but hasn't posted here... yet) and could possibly fill in the fourth slot.

Normally I would call you a coward, but it IS Long Night of Mythic after all.

Would I be insane to do LNoS as my first Mythic mission? Or should I do something easier, like TotS or Exodus?

Personally, I just played through the missions in order. The first 4 missions are a good warm up for the tougher ones that come later. Also after beating LNoS, Exodus was cake. Killing brutes is so much fun, mainly because they actually die.

I thought of Exodus because I found some ways to get rid of the Covies everywhere with relative ease. Like the FRG Grunts, Jackals, and Grunts that guard the bridge that leads to the Landing Pad. I think I'll do Exodus or Mythic Contingency. Probably Exodus.

TotS? "Easier"? Really? I know it's not LNoS hard, but not by much!

Except the cointoss falcon ride, TotS is pretty easy, what with the bxr skip and the ability to cause the wraiths to commit suicide. Even the final part isn't too tough. I usually get to the spire only having to kill a grunt and maybe a skirmisher, and the top of the spire isn't much tougher, just gotta keep your distance from Mr. McSwordly.

I find that keeping your distance from the snipers and jacking a Banshee might be easier. Plus I discovered that Warthog, which is faster than using the Revenant to kill the Tyrant gun.

Mr. McSwordy. Heh. Sometimes it's a toss up with him too. Once I managed to make him walk off the edge of the spire because a power core and one of those spike thingies were in the way between him and me. Once I managed to assinate him by sneaking up on him since he decided to crouch/take cover facing AWAY from the curved hallway (of course, all grunts were dead at that point).

But yeah, the Falcon ride is definitely a toin coss if you don't happen to be quick enough on the trigger against the shades or you catch a stray blast from Mr. ConcCannon

Sounds good, General K. If we can gt at least one mission down a week, I can post them on my YouTube channel. I now have over 1000 subscribers, so at least we know they'll be appreciated :-D I told people that I wouldn't be posting my solo runs any time soon, but I never said anything about co-op ;-)

EDIT: So right now we're good with Shadow and Sangheilioz. Let's see if we can get Travis on as well. Then we should be on good shape. What do you guys say? One mission per week for the sake of the series?
