There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

If you could transfer your campaign progress, you would need 4(i think) memory devices to save your progress for all of the remaining levels.

My current 360 is an arcade model with an internal memory card thingie. I also have the hard drive from my original 360, bought so many aeons ago. Therefore, everytime I load up Reach it asks me which of the two memory devices I want to use. So it could be doable, right? Or could a stunt like that mess up my overall campaign progress/commendations?
As far as I know, you can safely start a new Campaign game on your second memory device, assuming you have 11MB of free space. I believe your Campaign progress (the completion shields) are saved in your XBL profile and your Commendations are stored on B.net. So having a different save file should be totally safe. I also can't see Bungie having a problem with this, since they have stated that as long as it is you playing Campaign (instead of another person or an automation device), you're OK.

Hadn't thought of that possibility. I checked the save files the other day and the one save file in the name of my GT is about 10MB, but I'm not sure if that includes just the current campaign savegame as well as everything else in my Reach profile (campaign/mp progress and commendations). I'll start a new campaign there or otherwise copy paste my existing save file and see how the game loads. If worse comes to worse, I'll simply sit out this week's "weakly" challenge and hope Exodus LASO will be worth it credit-wise.

Is getting 80,000 points on any campaign mission challenge more than half as hard as beating LNOS SLASO challenge?

I'm not sure I get the context of your question, but the challenge is a breeze to the point of being a joke. Just load New Alexadria on Legendary, all skulls on but Iron and Blind. Just fly around shooting any alien purple $#!+ in the sky 'till you score 80K. Banshees are worth about 1700 points, Phantoms are tough nuts to crack but they're nearly worth 12k.

Yes, playing off my secondary drive worked perfectly, without one save game messing the other up.

I'm irritated. After playing TotS a bazillion times with 11 skulls and few problems, now that I'm going all 13, I can't get the Wraiths to suicide, or even drive against the rock anymore. At least one is always waiting for me with a heat seeking cannon. Grrr...

Turning on all skulls activates a hidden 14th skull.
The effects enable everything to go completely random and things that shouldn't happen, happen.

There are so many ways to accomplish this task. My original plan was to turn on a whole bunch of skulls on ONI, set to normal, hijack one of the 2 wraiths and work your way to the turret you have to activate. After you've cleared the covenant out, there's a Phantom that is just flying around that never shoots at you. Take it out and another appears. An infinite number of phantoms appear so you can just keep shooting them out of the sky until you reach the score.

I tried something new that I read about somewhere in the forum. On LNOS, again turn on a decent number of skulls but make sure to set the game to normal and not legendary. Hijack the first wraith instead of destroying it (pretty easy, pistol shot to the head of the grunt in the turret, hop in the turret, elite jumps out, jump out of the turret and into the wraith and blast the elite). Work your way with the wraith back to the beach wear a spirit drops off the covenant and just blast them away. After you kill the covenant, another spirit comes back and drops another crew of covenant. Because it's set on normal, unless you're completely careless ultra's throwing stickies will have an extremely hard killing you before you take them out. One of the marines may even jump into the turret to help you out. I like doing it like this because it helps with commendations as far as different covenant being killed. If this way is too boring, you could just play LNOS with the same skulls and set to normal but just try to complete the stage. By the time you make it onto the corvette you should have enough points.

Starting at rally point B of POA with about 10 skulls on is another way. Destroying the phantoms should net you enough points.

New Alexandria sure seems easier and faster than those methods, though I honestly havent tried the early jacking of the MAC gun in PoA...yet. ;)

Word of advice; practice up on the jump before hand. I tried roughly 10 or so times in a practice attempt and only got up once, and I still don't quite understand the timing of the shots.

Where's RC when you need him? I want to know how it's done.

There are multiple ways to make the jump. Have you tried the one I used in this co-op run. This one requires a dropshield and only 3 concussion rifle shots to get to the MAC cannon. With some practice this one is rather easy to do, but you need to start the mission from at least alpha checkpoint for a dropshield...

Yeah I saw your method, and it will probably end up being the one that I use. Just gotta wait for a day when I have some time.

It sure seems true.

It's called the "Murhpy's Law" Skull :P

Vader, if you watch my TOTS Mythic GUide on YouTube, I run into problems at the 2nd AA gun, where none of my plans seem to go right. However, I do eventually get the wraiths to suicide, so sometimes its just an issue of trying the glitch a few times.

If you jump in the warthog turret right away and destroy the Tyrant gun with that, the wraiths typically suicide while you're unloading lead. If they don't suicide, they get "stuck" shooting at a random spot on a wall and you can basically walk right up from their side and take it from them.

Yeah, I'd like to know how it's done too for my LASO run. I'd make things considerably easier, but the very real chance of blowing myself up in the attempt worries me.

Three hours in a mass driver is a looooong time. Jeez. I wonder if killing Banshees on New Alexandria would be faster, maybe find a spot where the gunners could do all the work for you without dying?

My current 360 is an arcade model with an internal memory card thingie. I also have the hard drive from my original 360, bought so many aeons ago. Therefore, everytime I load up Reach it asks me which of the two memory devices I want to use. So it could be doable, right? Or could a stunt like that mess up my overall campaign progress/commendations?

You can do it provided the arcade is capable of saving game saves. I have 3 360's. One of them I kept at my girl's place and the other 2 at my place. When this situation would present itself (particularly with a LASO weekly and campaign daily's) I would do the LASO at either her or my place. If I haven't finished, I could do the campaign daily's on the other 360. If the arcade can't save campaign progress, I suggest you find a friend to do this week's weekly. I know how frustrating it can be to make significant progress on a LASO challenge and then have to start over.

I believe I know someone who could have the answer.

10,000,000+ points and unfrig PoA
Unfrig LNoS
Unfrig NA
What may be the longest game in Reach.
(Launching for 5 and a 1/4 hours was not fun, either was going through the film...)

For that many points? No way. ~1.5k for a banshee each time vs. ~9.5k for each phantom.

For the unfrigginbelievable? Maybe. But some of the banshees don't have pilots and hence do not count to the sprees. The Beach on LNoS with the wraith only took a couple of hours.

Staying parked on a rootop somewhere might work, but that would take a much longer time.
