You can unlock it at 1000 GS, but you need 49 achievements to keep it forever. The original 49 are not required. Just 49. This is for people who want it, or lost it, and just plain don't think they can get it caus eof the 49 original achievments.

You joking, right? You are.. erm.. 3 years late? Just one day and we'll get Reach. I think there's no one left who cares anymore about getting Katana, and if somebody is, he had already 3 years to get to know about it.

So then how do you explain the people who lose it when they have 49 achievements or more?

You don't, that's how. You need the original 49 to ensure that they'll stay. If you or a friend of yours managed to keep it, super. But that doesn't change the fact that often people with over 49 achievements DO lose it. You need the original 49 to GUARANTEE it stays.

I corrected you- I did not bash you at all. If you were talking about me that is.

Yes. Bugs in the system. The bug, however, is that people got it in the first place- not that it disappears. You're supposed to unlock it with the original 49. The glitch is that people DON'T unlock it with the original 49. That is why this exact same glitch sometimes makes it disappear. Because it realizes they didn't actually earn it. Sometimes it comes back for these people with another achievement. Sometimes randomly. Sometimes not ever... until they get the ORIGINAL 49 achievements.

Getting any old 49 does NOT guarantee it'll stay. Absolutely not. I have seen dozens and dozens (if not hundreds) of situations where it disappears when people have over 49 random achievements. You need the original 49. That was never under debate.
