Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

The ships don't look the same, the basic design characteristics arn't even similar. The weapons do not look the same, nore do they operate or sound the same way. The marine armour is no where near similar, save for the Helmets, there is a similarity, however a monicular drop down screen is not something unique to Aliens, its something militaries have had in mind for a while. And as far as how the marines act, thats classic, from too many movies to count. Sarge however is straight from Aliens, but thats just because he is so awsome you can't change him. The Covenant arn't at all like Aliens, thats obvious. Halo isn't like any Alien world either.

I believe I rest my case.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Such a tired topic. To think that some people really believe Bungie ripped off Aliens...sad.

Don't listen to them.. It is true, Sgt. Apone = Sgt. Johnson they even have a similar line. But this is all old news.. I made many threads like these one year ago..

Interesting. Has anyone read any Iain.M.Banks culture novels? They have ring worlds in those and ecentric drones much like Guilty Spark 343. Maybe Bungie was inspired by those as well?

Just googled it and found this link. The books are well worth reading.

The links between Halo and Aliens is so obvious. Its good, and I like it. Just watch Aliens again, I guarantee that every so often you'll be like.. "Hey wait a sec... Thats also in halo...".

Just like how the Matrix takes a lot of influence from Ghost In The Shell, so does Halo take from Aliens.

Every time you sneeze into an open Febreze portal the boner-tree drive shaft will spin into ketchup. But it doesn't stop at the number two pizza bell, not even close. It continues into the seventy eight minute long pile of green, sobbing cheese trains with no more butter, but more like the steak owed the tin cans some lovin'.

The aliens in Aliens arnt like Covenant, but they are similar to flood. Also, the ship in Aliens does look similar to The Pillar of Autumn.

Wait... Maybe somebody that worked on that movie works for Bungie now.

I don't think there's any doubt that Bungie borrowed heavily from Aliens, which certainly isn't a bad thing as it is a quality film.

The ship looks like the Pillar of Autumn (not identical I know)

Sgt Johnson is the spitting-image of the Sgt in the film and talks like him

The dropship looks just like a Pelican from Halo

The motion tracker in Halo reminded me of Aliens

The general theme - space marines up against a deadly parasitic lifeform

By the way, there are other films it borrows from but Aliens is the main one.
