Why isn't there a forum post for the Halo Demo? It has a very nice quality player base and a completely legitimate group of ever changing modded servers and it features the only multiplayer map you really need (Bloodgulch). But there isn't a single post for it. I thought that maybe the servers were shared between the Demo and the actual Halo pc, but I remembered that you have to use some software that switches the extension for the file. The purpose for this post is to let the people who play the Demo to speak their mind and also for people to download it. This is the only place I know where to download it but it seems to be the most legitimate.

(P.S I have bought Halo for the Xbox but I like the Demo because I am a modder)

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

The Halo Demo is a demo. It's not meant to be a substitute for the $20 retail version. Most people here are quite happy to have more than 1 map, more than 2 gametypes, all the Halo vehicles and some control over their servers.

Yea but I've been seeing a lot of posts in the Reach section about what price people will buy Reach at, (some of them were crazy low) this post was targeted at those people. Also I need more test subjects for my flying rocket-hog battle map.

2003 called. :(

I don't get why people wouldn't just get the retail version by now.

I had Custom Edition but then my PC broke. The Halo Demo is the answer to those that have macs.

not really, Eschaton, the application that I use to mod only works on Demo maps. The people that mod the full game use a number system that starts with a Helix- or something. But to the point, there IS no Halo Full modding, there is no website where people post mods. This is because IT IS hard to mod with a number system that doesn't have a base number so nobody does it.

Halo CE isn't the same thing as Halo Full. Halo Full came out back in 2001

You're basically stating that Halo: Custom Edition PC isn't the same thing as Halo: Combat evolved XBOX. That would be somewhat true. But as for the graphics and game play the two are virtually the same.

However there are some differences. Halo: Custom Edition PC is mainly geared towards online play. It is designed for playing custom maps online. Halo: Custom Edition has the capability of playing single player maps but you have to download them separately. Halo: Combat Evolved XBOX is the complete package. But it doesn't have the capability to play custom maps.

What are you on about? It's not difficult to mod the full game and there are websites where you can download mods. It'd take about five seconds to recreate your flying rocket hog mod in HMT.

Having said that, hardly anybody wants to download mods for the full game because they tend to be inane garbage.

Edit: Eschaton works on the full version anyway.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

There is halo PC (or Halo Full as you call it) modding. It's just not as good as custom edition modding. Halo PC modding is mostly mod servers, while Halo Custom Edition is full maps, both Multiplayer and Single Player.

Getting back to the point of this thread...

Trial Version does have a pretty dedicated fan base. I think more people play Trial than Full. (Don't quote me on that.) I haven't seen any threads on B.net dedicated to Trial either, but instead of complaining about it, why don't you just make one yourself?

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

My favorite thing about the trial community is how it's full of people that would get slaughtered in the retail version.

Shaders are better on the XBox version.

Yes it does. And the maps work better too.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

You can't compare the Xbox and PC versions graphically. It's not even close. Nothing about the Xbox version looks better.

Shaders are better on the XBox version.

Only on some items, and community fixes for those items have already been released. Not to mention the fact that the PC version can be greatly upscaled compared to the paltry 480p 30 FPS-locked Xbox version.

I'm not so retarded that I'm going to mod my xbox thats working perfectly and can play HALO REACH just to play on an altered version of some Halo Xbox campaign map to make it a zombie survival game, when I could do it on a computer where I know what I'm doing.

As Dusk said, due to joint community efforts not anymore. In my case, opening up access to some shaders that were even commented out in the PC version.
