Subject: Thanks for the memories

I just wanted to create this thread to thank Bungie for Halo 3
It has been the main game i've played since starting secondary school upto present day (now reach will most likely take over, i'd be on it now if amazon hadn't screwed up my pre-order!!!)

many a time mates have came over and we've just gone on live or custom games and had a great time, if not, a laugh

we even tried a machinima but failed, still had a laugh
basically, i've had loads of great memories on halo 3, more than any other game i've had at least

this thread is just for anyone that wants to share their good times on Halo 3

cheers Bungie, its been fun

(i know the game will still be around but with nearly constant laggy servers and modded 50s ruling matchmaking it may as well be gone now)

(+5 cool points for thread)

I've only had the game for a few months, since I've only recently had an XBox. But still, good times. First time I got a sniper kill, getting "steppin' Razor" (that was exciting for me), shooting down banshees with the Spartan Laser, getting an Invincible, getting a killtacular with one plasma nade... Yep, good times...

Same here. First online experience. Though I will miss 3, I am anxiously awaiting my Pre-ordered Reach's arrival.

As great of a game that I think Reach is, I don't think it will ever live up to the standards of Halo 3. It's actually kind of sad to think Bungies leaving Halo. But I've had so many memories on Halo 3, that I'm absolutely sure Reach won't be able to give me. The day before Reach came out, me and a bunch of friends got on to Halo 3 and played it all day. Forging, playing random custom games. Everything. Halo Reach just doesn't have the same feel. It was great while it lasted, it sucks no one will be on Halo 3 anymore. Thanks for the memories Bungie.

Ive been playing since CE, same account since before h3 release, played the game the right way, always had good technique on my teabag

Halo 3 brought my friends and I together all the time! We made maps for all the Infection games we used to play, and touched them up together in Forge.
I remember staying up late waiting for map packs to come out.
I even remember the music that I listened to a lot when H3 was in its prime like Serj Tankian's solo album, Mindless Self Indulgence's "If", and Flight of the Conchords' first album.

Thanks Bungie!

Are you guys serious right now? Halo 3 will NEVER die. Just like Halo 2, people will be playing H3 for a long time to come. It's like the greatest game ever and like the other guy said, Reach will not live up to H3.

Sorry, but for me, there's still lots more "memories" to come.

Thanx Bungie for making (IMO) one of the best games of the decade!

nice to know you've all had some good times
just played reach for the first time and
while it is awesome in its own aspect it is completely different to halo 3
i find reach much more gritty and powerful but feel halo 3 has a social warmth to it that i dont think any other game could master

I can remember it as if it was yesterday...
New England, Power out, 2 weeks atleast,
Christmas right around the corner and then on the morning theres an Xbox w/ Halo 3 ontop.
Halo 3 was the very first game i've every played and i've been hacked TWICE playing it yet i still refuse to stop playing it.
Had a bunch of GREAT memories, i thought it was the last halo then ODST came out (Which EVERYONE i knew, even the best game critic i know said it WAS SOOOOOOOO BAD) then i saw a reach ad on youtube and im like 'WTF?' and then here we are.
Im prob getting reach 4 my B-day but i'll probably put halo 3 on a mount hanging above my mantle.

I think its too early to say Reach won't have the same social feel or warmth. The bevy of options and having Firefight and even Campaign Matchmaking might give it a broader social structure than Halo 3.

Still I love Halo 3 and always will. I love Reach too. I will keep playing both for a long time.

(dumb-luck) > (my skill)

Damn, I basically GREW UP with Halo & Bungie. Halo: CE was the second real computer game I played (after DOOM) & I have always enjoyed the story told by the Halo games, as well as the standard-setting multiplayer.

It really makes me sad that Halo: Reach is Bungie's swan song.

Thanks for nearly decade of good memories,
Bungie you rock!
