"I'll make it easy for all of you.

Halo 2 will be released on November 9th in the United States. Other terriorites will be at near to that date as well, but no sooner than November 9th.

There will be no demo of Halo 2 made before the game is released.

This isn't hard, people. But, since some of you continue to think we're a bunch of liars, I'll give you a choice. You can stop talking about the release date as if it is a mystery, or I'll starting issuing temporary blacklists to you people that will expire on the date of Halo 2's release (11/9/2004). The choice is yours.

I didn't think the game was coming early. No demo. That is sad. Oh well. A demo would be nice. You see lots of companys make a demo before a game comes out so there are more sales, but I am sure Bungie/Microsoft's marketing guys/gals have thier own plans. A demo after would seem not that neccisary. Unless it is a store only demo that came before Nov 9. That would be an ides. that way there wouldn't be so many demos produced. Just a thought. Thanks for letting me speak my two cents.

As a follow up, I think people are going be dissapointed about ilovebees hype on 24th. But a lot of the hype and speculation was made by fans, not Bungie. Even though i think Bungie did make that site. Good job on it by the way.

I would hate a demo. It would ruin my surprise and shiznizzle. This is a "duhrrr no -blam!-ter" we all knew that halo 2 is being released on nov 9,2004 its just that some people can't get it through their fat heads :D.

Actually, I posted that about a half hour ago in response to a large thread about this issue. Yes, we said to everyone that the date is still November 9th last Friday. My message was more a forum administration warning - people who continue to talk about August 24th being the release of Halo 2 or a demo of it are effectively calling Bungie (and by extension, myself) a bunch of liars.

I do NOT like that insinuation. It will stop, one way or another.

I wouldn't worry about it to much I think all things will calm down on Aug 24th (maybe a day or 2 to kinda work thing out about what happens that day)
(besides I would be glad for the hype even though it creates a bit of a pain on the forum ;)

No offense, but you caused that yourselves, the whole I love bees thing started so much crap, and none of you said anything about it for like what, 2 weeks? Finally Frankie posted that it was false news, but morons had already been discussing it forever, and they continued to discuss it, regardless if Frankie shot down their theories. I for one don't think anything will happen Aug 24th except for some new media or coverage on Halo 2, just because OXM special will come out, already stating a new preview on Halo 2. Frankie acted like he didn't know what was going on with the hype on these forums, I mean come on, you should have shot the theories down the moment they arrose, and even though I didn't think the game would come out early, you have to admit the site was leading on something big was going to happen. I know Bungie never said anything about it, but they knew it was going to cause a lot of ideas, and that's exactly what happened.

Okay, so it wasn't an early release, or a demo, but what was ilovebees.com doing in the Halo 2 trailer? I mean is it really that unreasonable that someone would think that sort of thing, when at the end of a trailer there's a site that has a home of just one big fat countdown?

yes, if was just for the OXM article then ilovebees was over the top for such a thing, but then again I don't think you(Tom) created it. We will just have to wait and see (sadly). Oh well.

This could have been easily avoided. You gotta expect this kind of crap when you put stupid links in a trailer. I was hoping for a demo, but i guess i'll just travel out to the Penny Arcade Expo at the end of the month and play the demo they have there.
