Mine stopped working at the end of each match... annoying.. disc is fine and so is my laser eye. This actually could be a hard drive issue (happened to me). Try playing without it connected. Then call Microsoft Support.
This same problem happens to me, though it has actually gotten worse in the last two days.
I would get the read error at the very start or very end of a match, at the exact point in which I would have seen the Auntie Dot loading screen. Now, it has expended to be at any point in which loading would happen at all, so this now include checkpoints in campaign levels as well, and once just randomly in forge.
I have noticed that these errors are preceded by sound glitches almost always now. If it was going to happen at the start of MM or a custom game, the 321 start beeps would be silent. In a match, any number of sound effects would cease playing, ranging from grenade bounces or the announcer's voice to everything *except* a fuel rod explosion. It's like I am playing the game on mute most of the time.
I've been through the X Box support ring a few times, and I'll just do this in order:
1)I have cleaned the disc, several times. No change.
2)The region is correct.
3)I've tried playing other games, they work just fine, no errors.
4)I've cleared the system cache.
5)I have popped the hard drive and played without it for a while. This also worked.
According to generic support, it's either a bad disc (#3) or a bad drive (#5). I hope both of these aren't the case. My Xbox is one of the Slims, it's about three or so months old - actually check that, it's as old as they can be, I bought one the Friday of E3. Still, that's about three months old. The game disc was a preorder from Walmart.com. I do notice a verrrrry slight discoloration on the bottom of the disc itself, a sort of irregular blob shape. That is the only thing that I see that *might* be the issue. Any thoughts anyone?
