OK,
I found a solution for my issue.
At first my disc worked fine, for about 6 times of playing it, on the 1st generation xbox. With the 90 days coming up from the date of purchase, i grew tired of waiting for Bungie to publicly announce a fix, and i took my game back to Wal-mart.
I swapped my Made in Mexico Disk out for that of another country, took it home and IMMEDIATELY DOWNLOADED IT TO MY HARD DRIVE!!!!!
I have not had an issue in the game since, and have EVERY MAP! in campaign, multiplayer, etc..
Hope this helps you all that are having issues.
