hey guys i'm back... well my xbox is gone and on it's way for repair but i still prefer replacement... I made sure i said on the phone with them that when they test the console, that they actually use halo reach since it's the reason for the repair..
I'm having withdrawals already...

Yeah definately don't go out and buy another console, it's bungie/microsofts fault and it's their responsibility to address the issue with it's consumers.
I'll fight them all the way if they deliver some bull dribble

Seriously though, something has to be done after all the time and effort some people (including myself) have put into trying to play this game. Multiple trips to and from Gamestop trying to get a new disc. This is after many of us waited up until midnight to actually get our hands on a copy only to have a handfull of disappointment instead.
I literally sat infront of my Xbox for 3 hours trying to make it work. Then I was on here for a few hours. It's just so sad, all of my friends are playing and telling me how fun it is. I walked 2 hours to my nearest Gamestop to get turned down for being too young (I'm 18 with no ID...), so then I waited 7 hours for my dad to get home to take me. Then I receive a broken game... Today sucked.

No joke. I really don't want to have to send it off and wait X amount of days for what might be a fix that I could still end up having to pay for. I've already shelled out enough of my own money for this. I wont spend a cent more just because it fits better with Microsoft's business model.

Good find with that video. I'll record one tomorrow with my iPhone. My case is kind of odd though, different from the rest of yours. AusGreenLantern, can you keep this thread alive please? I really need some sleep.

I'm having second thoughts on this being only the console. From reading just this thread alone I've come to notice that some Slim owners are having the same problems which brings me to the conclusion that it is the disc itself and not the console. When you think about it, a lot of people bought the xbox when it first came out and never desired to upgrade to a better version since you could just buy a bigger HDD for it.

So think about this, majority of the community are owners of the launch system and they seem to be reporting all the time about their disc not working and the people with Pros are doing the same majority people who had launch console obviously upgraded to Pro which is the next cheapest in line. Not many Arcade owners are complaining because most likely not many have that version of the console. So it's pretty obvious that it's the disc being faulty, not the console being old.

The same problem occurred with FF13 for the PS3. Some of the discs were actually breaking the PS3s. (which of course I found hilarious and when I told my fiance it freaked her out and she stopped playing it for good and she's at the final boss LOL) So like I said that is my conclusion which is solely opinion based. ^^

I had the same problem with Batman Arkham Asylum when it was first released. I even got an exchange at Gamestop and still had it which means it was my Xbox 360. Your likely going to have to send your Xbox 360 in or purchase a new one. :( - As much as you don't want to hear it. Be prepared very quickly for it to be that scenario. I purchased a new one and it was obviously fixed for BAA.

If anyone has accounts on Gamespot, GameFAQS, etc..., You should check there for people who are having similar issues and link them to this thread.

since mine was out of warranty for like 18 months, they either know something is up or they really felt sorry for me cause they're repairing it for free...

I'll call tomorrow and see what the wait time would be/if they'll do it for free. Still going to stay up though. If I went to sleep now I'd just feel like I was quitting XD

try taking out the hard drive and plug it in , and make sure it is CONNECTED TO YOUR 360 ALL THE WAY, i had the same problem , games wouldnt install, but I looked at my hard drive and saw that it was in but a small piece wasnt fully connected and after that it worked for me .

yeah well i made a topic on the aussie xbox forum called reach issues but not many people have said anything.. wondering whether most aussies upgraded... could it be.. could i be the last, I might make a new one and title it "Halo Reach does not work"

But yeah, a more direct title might help. Or something similar to this one mentioning the disc issues.
