Thats what i was thinking particularly with the 4GB slim problem and they seem to be directing its problems to the amount of memory I know I have about 2Gigs left after installing the game. before installing I had 9Gigs. Was thinking about erasing some games that I don't have anymore. Question does erasing game date affect said games achievements.

Achievements are tied to your gamertag which, if your connected to live, is stored on a server so you wont lose any achievements you've Already completed. However any progress on uncompleted achievements will be lost if you delete the games save file.

Nah that's not it I formatted my entire HD in hopes that my launch console would play reach but it still did the same thing installed or just playing from the disk same results so dont give up all your saved files like I did in hopes of being able to play reach it does nothing but angers you more ! AN yes I cleared the cache before I formatted and after-wards doesnt matter fails !

Is it only the xbox with with 20 gigs? I have the really old one with 20 gigs, about 4 gigs left on my HD and never got Red rings or any problems.

S414 - Halo Reach
F49 - Halo 3

For what it's worth...

I have a launch console with an upgraded 120GB drive. Had the RROD but they just repaired my console, instead of replacing it. So far Campaign works fine, saves work, and theater works (on the night mission with Jun)---crosses fingers.

I haven't tried multiplayer or forge, but will try tonight and see the result.

i reformated my hard drive (120 gb) and it allowed me to go to the 6th mission, before i couldn't even play campaign. when i take the hdd out however, i can't play any. also, only the campaign is affected in my case, i can play online and firefight all i want (so far)

microsoft needs to address this issue. because i havent had problems with my 360 and havent had it serviced since i bought it, means that i need to upgrade to a new xbox 360 JUST to play reach and possibly other new games that wont read on my xbox... oh, thanks for purchasing the xbox when it was 400 dollars 4 years ago, now upgrade it with another 2 or 3 hundred dollars to play the games u pre ordered 2 months ago. thanks microsoft.

who can i email... because i have a lot to express about this particular topic

  • 09.15.2010 10:56 AM PDT
  • gamertag: [none]
  • user homepage:

I have the same problems as everyone! So annoying when I want to play campaign with my brother. My xbox is about 1-2 years old (instead of repair, they sent a new one.) No problems with it until Halo: Reach.

Disc unreadable when I :-
1. Try to play campaign (after 1st cutscene)
2. After online games (before game summary, but after the match)

Putting it on HDD just gives me a green screen (120GB I brought after trading in orginal 20GB)

We need offical news on this topic. I brought it from Argos, and they say they dont have a return policy, but theres one in the manual by Microsoft. Does that count?

you can email bnetbugs@bungie.com or webmaster@bungie.com but i wouldn't expect it to do anything since "Please understand we cannot help you with game support issues. You will need to contact the support number listed in the back of your Halo manual (1-800-4MY-XBOX) for game related issues." is part out the auto reply

You're -blam-ed if you do, and you're -blam-ed if you don't!!!

Do we have any idea on exactly which consoles this is happening on?

Launch Pro
Launch Arcade
Post Launch Pro
Post Launch Arcade
Elite
Slim
(There are other variants, I know)

So far I have a slim 250GB and have had no problems. My friend has a launch pro that I'm sure has the newer Opus MB (instead of the Xenon MB) as it's been repaired by MS a few times, and it is working just fine with the 20GB original HD. Another friend has a post launch Arcade with an off-brand 120GB HD and he has the unreadable disk errors...

Lets see if we can draw any conclusions to which system, MB, HD, and DVD drive combo may be having the bulk of the issues.

Just out of interest, how much did they say it would cost?

  • 09.15.2010 11:08 AM PDT

they told me it would cost me 90 dollars and i would have to wait 2 to 3 weeks after i sent it off to get it back. as said before. all other games read and play flawlessly. there is nothing wrong with my xbox

  • 09.15.2010 11:10 AM PDT

i just recieved my 360 halo reach bundle !!!!!!!!!! woooooooooooo

  • 09.15.2010 11:11 AM PDT

That is disgracefull you could buy another (preowned to be fair) console for that

  • 09.15.2010 11:13 AM PDT

i havent needed updated hardware yet, not even with odst. so why now?

and that was the most disgraceful thing that someone could have said to me. be sure i re-itterated fully, that my xbox wasnt broken. and i will find the resolve i am looking for

  • 09.15.2010 11:15 AM PDT

Now we just need bungie to get off their -blam!-s and admit that there's a problem

  • 09.15.2010 11:18 AM PDT

i agree. because currently i have another game on preorder that i will most likely not be able to play... im spending money on games that wont work in my xbox 360. IDC how old it is, or what version it is. i have an xbox 360 that doesnt play xbox 360 games. period

  • 09.15.2010 11:21 AM PDT

well now I can use all other features other than singleplayer. what gives?

  • 09.15.2010 11:22 AM PDT

I haven't even seen anyone from bungie post since reach came out.
