I'm going to add my voice to the growing masses of disappointed flood-infested individuals who are today with the enjoyment of Reach.
Purchased the game last night expecting to play, however I found that my xbox too did not read the disk. Unfortunately, it is so bad it does not even recognize the Reach disk as a game disk and instead labels it as a movie DVD. The few times I could get it to read all that showed up is a pop up with the old xbox 360 splash screen. I did put the disk in my computer to see if there was a problem with it, but the computer correctly recognized the disk as an xbox game.
I did try cleaning the disk as there were a few smudges, but no go. I will not boil it. Who in their right mind requires their users to boil a game before it can be played?
We will be swapping out the disk this evening and attempting to shake the infestation, but I sure hope some official word regarding this issue will be released sometime soon.
p.s. My console is a refurbished console from Microsoft directly. Recieved at the end of 2007, white box, silver tray.
