Just wanted to leave one last comment on these boards.
I purchased the game last week at Wal-Mart after work on the day of release. The disk did not read in my system and I was unable to play the game. The system reported that the disk was unreadable, and when it was readable it showed up as a splash screen of the xbox 360 logo.
I tried replacing the disk from walmart, however the second disk did the same thing. Tried to buy a new console, but that console had the same error with the disks. Returned the system, and went and purchased a second disk from Gamestop. This time, the game disk worked. In talking to people at Gamestop and Wal-Mart, it turned out that Wal-Mart had returned a lot of disks, while Gamestop in our area had not recieved one call in this last week regarding broken disks.
While not all experiences will be the same as mine, figured I'd share this to help someone out there.
p.s. When I discussed this issue with the MS rep, they directed me to get a hardware replacement after hearing that I had replaced the disk once. I don't think Microsoft has an idea of why this is happening, and I would be suspicious of Wal-Mart disks.
