All Bungie needs to post is "We're working on the problem" or "MS is working on the problem" or "We're both working on the problem - not sure if it's hardware or software yet, folks" and either way they need to say "We'll let you know as soon as we have something solid, sorry for your troubles."
That is BARE MINIMUM respect for your fans, and I think would cool about half the anger on display here.
Instead what do we get? Not even a mention in the weekly update. Not even a note that they're still reading this thread and staying on top of things.
Just a "Call <useless> Support"... which implies that they DO know what the problem is, and support has the answer, and they're not telling us what the problem is. We all know that support doesn't have a consistent answer.

Personally I'm lucky enough to be able to struggle through level by level, sometimes getting a DRE, sometimes not. I wouldn't even be bothering if this game wasn't so good; but it's the best single player Halo campaign I think, ever.
I haven't been able to finish the last level, though. Not sure if I'll ever be able to.
I haven't really tried multiplayer since the last problem I encountered. Just not worth it - though that weekly update sure makes it look like people are having a good time. Way to really rub it in. :)

And for those of you who didn't read the thousands of previous posts (why would you?) and plan to buy a Slim to solve all your problems; it might, but it might not.
I'm playing on an almost brand new Slim with 250GB hard drive built in. It plays every other game but this one just fine.
And YES, I did immediately install it to the hard drive. I even tried clearing almost everything off the hard drive, deleting Reach, and reinstalling it. Same problems.
