What is the Seventh Column?
The seventh column is the network of groups and chapters that members can use with each other. More info can be found here.
What is a chapter?
A chapter is a place where members of bungie.net can come together and talk about anything within the Terms of Use and the Code of Conduct. A chapter is one of two types of user-created groups available at Bungie.net - the other is the Halo 2 clan. You can link your Halo 2 clan to your chapter in your chapter's settings if you wish your chapter to act as a homepage for your clan. Chapters have forums, news, and resources where you can share contact info, articles, links, and pretty much any information you think is important to your chapter.
How do I create and maintain a group that will be active?
As far as physically creating the group, you should start here. There are many places you can go to find help with creating groups. One group, blessed by bungie, is called Chapter Founders. Chapter Founders will is designed to help groups get off the ground. Check out the many articles they have about boosting activity in groups. For further help, check out their forums once you join the group.
For individual help on creating groups, you can contact the members of Team ACS for help. It looks like they are very full now. They’ll probably put you on some sort of waiting list.

What can I do to help out?
Do you know something bungie related that you want to tell the world? Submit a news article! Or maybe you can interview someone who contributes positively to the bungie community. Chapter Founders not only helps founders, but also encourages this sort of activity. Maybe you’re in a group that you’re really interested in – you could figure out a way to help that group grow. The bottom line is “be creative”.

Is there an IRC Chatroom where I can chat with bungie.net members
There are several. Our good friends at bungie.org have set up one place to chat. Most people use this chat server. More info on how to use IRC can be found here.

How can I link my Gamertag to Bungie.net?
Make sure you have the following:
* A .NET passport account (make sure this is the same one you’re going to be using at Bungie.net)
* Xbox Live Account
* The ability to verify your identity on Xbox.com (Name of credit card holder on your Live account, last 4 digits of the credit card, phone number, postal code)
Now that you have that, go to this site to link your gamertag:

(Big Thanks to Psyched for this section)
What is spam?
Spam is, basically, unnecessary posts that flood the forums with junk. It can be off-topic, stupid, offensive or generally unwanted material. You are not to spam.
What is flaming?
Flaming is the act of aggression unto others. It includes attacking, threatening, violent, unwelcoming or offensive posts. Flaming is disallowed.
What is bumping?
Bumping is when you deliberately post so your thread comes first on the topic list, in a manner that does not continue the (allowed) discussion and looks for attention. Often, bumping is when you post directly after your previous post on the same topic (AKA. Double post), but can be you helping others to bump. If you spam to bump your topic, that's even worse, so make sure you do not.
What are trolls?
Trolls are rule breakers. You are not to 'feed' them (provide them with material so they can continue their offensive acts, even a simple reply to a troll can cause this). Ignore, do not feed the trolls.
How do I deal with spam?
You don't. As in you don't respond in any way, form or fashion, instead you may report offensive posts to a moderator via Private Message, or e-mail the joint moderator address at bnetmods@gmail.com. There's no point in spamming the forums with reports.
(Big thanks to Psyched for that entire section)

What Powers do Forum Ninjas have?
The moderators of bungie.net, or more commonly know as forum ninjas, moderate and keep the forums clean. They have more power than normal members. Forum Ninjas are able to edit posts, sticky posts, lock posts, and delete posts. They can also blacklist members, but they determine how long the blacklist is for. Master Forum Ninjas can do all of that plus they can post news on the bungie.net homepage. They can also edit blacklists, and permaban members.
