Many people on these forums would say that you've already deemed your chances of becoming a moderator zero by asking. But really I'm not the best person to answer these questions.

I'd imagine that it has something to do with showing yourself to be a postive and active member of Bungie.net. You'd also have to show that you're responsible enough to have a position of power. There are probably many other things that would fall into the category of "how to become a moderator" and I don't know it. Infact, often you'll find forum ninjas answering this question with a response somewhere along the lines of "I have no idea." To most people, becoming a moderator would take a long time, so you have all the time in the world to think about what your custom avatar will be : )

Even though I've been here for more than two years I still can't be a mod.
