It's the exact same in every forum i go into.
Lower ranked people from halo 3 love the DMR.
Higher Ranked people from Halo 3 love the BR.
Noobs love the fact the DMR takes essentially no skill to use and has a complety random bloom spread so skill doesn't factor into a 1 on 1 at all.
The BR takes time and skill to master and the recoil from the BR takes time to master.
Halo 3 is better than Reach for many reasons.
Reach encourages and entices people to camp. All the maps are built around camping or power weapon horing. A prime example of this is Reflection. Get the Rockets and Sword and you have won.
Plus the ridicoulous slow gameplay + the amount of time it takes to kill someone with a DMR is so ridiculous that the game can become easily frustrutating for anyone that has a skill level above 45 in halo 3.
Halo3 is Far superior to Reachs MATCHMAKING Capabilites.
LOL. I have 8 50s and I like Reach. The DMR is harder to use than the BR thus making the skill gap wider. It takes still to master it
Reach does promote camping somewhat but that game is more about being passive whereas halo 3 was all about aggression
You have eight 50s... wow. For starters... wow.
In all honesty I have no clue why they didn't include power weapons on maps that desperately need them, such as paradiso, which has tanks, ghosts, and banshees completely ruining the other team. However, on the other hand, why is it that 3-4 sticky grenades destroys a tank? What the hell is the point of that, that doesn't even make any sense, it has about as much shields as a ghost, if not less. Oh and that is such a horrible map, why do they want to turn this game into Call of Duty? Why did they include swat in big team battle? If I wanted to kill people in one shot, I'd go play another game, sure it's different from Halo 3 and I can live with that, but I don't like the fact that they wanted to make this game a midline between Halo and CoD, they should have just chosen one and stuck to it.
The BR may have had spread, but the only situation where it was clearly significant was in Swat, which they somehow managed to screw up in Reach once again... I find myself shooting the back of their heads only for them to not die, and sometimes from the side. So much for the one shot gun fixing any issues with swat.
By the way, having patience is at the complete opposite side of the spectrum that skill is on, so trying to defend the DMR with that, is plain stupid. Let's just accept the fact that Halo: Reach is a game like Modern Warfare 2, just another game to cater to the noobs and take away the gap between skilled players and not skilled players. I'll play that game anyday over the game which has a gap that is determined by something as trivial in a first person shooter as patience.
Yeah dude I totally agree. It's pretty hard to patient when some noobs rushing you with a sword or shotgun. And its almost impossible to get 5 shots off before a rocket launcher explodes and kills everyone within a 500m radius. Okay that was an exageration but you know what I mean.
Paridso does have the lasor but Hemorage (the new bloodgulch) is justy plainly, the most -blam!- map I have ever played on. How ae you supposed to kill a tank? There are no rockets, plasma launchers, spartans laser or fuel rod guns so it just makes it one of the worst maps ever. Its actually almost impossible unless your a good sniper (which thankfully i am, or love horing invis and sneaking up on it.
