I think you'll find every Halo game revolves around "power-weapon horing", I love Halo and all, but that's where CoD wins, it's not just "omg let's grab the rockets, sword and shottie and we win". Just such a huge difference between a) the one hit kills with those weapons and b)the 5 skillful headshots required with the DMR, which can be made harder by all the cover available.
Also, a skill of 10 or a skill of 50 means nothing. 50 requires more time and luck, hoping you get good team mates. Yes, your own personal skill does in fact come in to play, but as I type this, I just finished losing 5 games of Reach, each game I'm getting a K/D of over 10, and getting stuck with people getting -5 or more.
This also happened in Halo 3, and CoD isn't immune either, the rank in Halo 3 doesn't reflect personal skill 100%, rather how lucky you are with getting good teammates/bad opponents, with a small contribution of your skill.
If you are having trouble with the DMR, don't spam like most BR lovers are, taking time in shooting IS skill, I'm happy blooming has been added, makes Halo less spray n pray, and more rewarding for accuracy like CoD.
I also can't stand power weapons, however it is a part of Halo, although a bad part at that, and even though it will never happen, I would love to see a game mode that is exactly the same as your normal slayer types, but with none of these weapons. Or even better, a more balance gameplay. How is it fair that 1 hit from a Shottie, or 1 rocket in a 20 foot radius can kill you, yet it takes 5 Headshots from a DMR?
It's just one of those things....
Nothing wrong with power weapons when they have limited ammo. The shotty needs to be removed entirely. It is way too deadly when combined with Sprint.
The over powered nades the severe LACK of team work and the lackluster crap maps has me coming back to Halo 3. I jumped on a different account and played some Halo 3 and it felt like putting on a very comfortable pair of shoes instead of like Reach where you have to wear band aids on your heels until they are broken in....
