Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Halo Reach is terrible. You're not missing out.

Eh, I'm having fun. It's nice to play a console Halo game that doesn't pretend to be skill based, like H2 and H3 did. Not so much meritless epeen flaunting.

I liked Halo 3 and fatkid variants, would love to see how better they can be for PC. xd

Hey, it's the truth. Halo 2 and 3 were both far from skill based, yet they fed kids a delusion of skill using numbered ranking systems. Reach doesn't do that. It's the first console Halo title since H2 with a sense of honesty.

Y'see, there's a problem with this: The amount of work it would take.

Halo: Reach is specifically designed around working on ONE platform, ONE set of hardware; the Xbox 360. Just porting the game, without adding any extra features, would take a lot of work. Why? Because there are thousands of possible PC configurations, and they have to make it work on damn near all of them.

That's why porting is a lot of work, for a game that was designed to run on Xbox.

I'd personally love for them to port it too but it's damned unlikely. The demand isn't high enough to justify the cost and time it would take. Particularly if they put in features we want, such as upgraded graphics, dedis, and modkits.

Still, I hope Bungie is watching. I'd love a Halo: Reach PC version. Even if they went back and ported Halo 3, I'd love that.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

It's close to PC in terms of SDKs used. All they would need to do is port it then optimise it, and also release the mod tools, and it would sell well. And not 5 years later.

Guess what, Gearbox obviously made a good PC port of Halo 1. :P

That's true, but it still doesn't justify the amount of time and work it would take, particularly if they'd have to add dedicated servers, create a community modkit, etc. We don't want a half-assed port.

No doubt about it. That port was about as good as a PC port gets. Sadly, it was the ONLY good PC port to come out of the Halo franchise (so far).

Bungie themselves have other projects to work on now, so they certainly don't want to port a Halo game themselves. Looks like we'll need someone else to step up and make a port, like Gearbox did. Problem is, nobody seems to be offering. Either that, or Microsoft/Bungie doesn't want to allow it to happen.

Let there be CHAOS!

Speaking of ports, I just played through the Reach campaign recently for the first time. Wow, Reach on the 360 actually feels like a bad port. The framerate is anything but steady and dips really bad at times - I'm talking like 10 FPS. Certain areas of some maps (even multiplayer maps!) drop the framerate so low it's impossible to aim. Installing it to the hard drive helped a bit, but not enough. It's a pretty decent game but wow, Bungie's engine really sucks.

Shame I can't just run it on my PC.

I've seen those dips, and I noticed that most of the time, there's nothing impressive being rendered. It's some mesh grating or a plume of smoke. How does the "best team in the business" mess that up?

Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphors have two parts : form and interpretation; of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom being the briocoleus, the mason.

Halo Reach is definitely the way Halo should have gone after Halo 1. There is speculation that it will come to PC, which would be released on a new renovated GFWL system. Halo and Gears of War are pretty much the only exclusives for Xbox right now, so making a PC version wouldn't be the best idea because they want more people buying xbox's.

1st the Wii
2nd the PS3
and lastly Xbox 360. <3

I dunno man. Bungie really needs to rethink some things. I don't know why they insist on sticking to their in-house engine when it's obviously not measuring up to other modern game engines. With all the resources they had from Microsoft, you'd think they would've been better off using Unreal or something and keeping their focus on game development, not developing an engine that just barely chugs along.

War is Human Nature, without War there cannot be peace, without peace there cannot be war.

Scrapy, to put it in a quote. "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" In other words, don't go bursting our bubble of hope that one day Halo: REACH will be ported to the PC. So many people doubt that it will happen, yet at the same time just as many, if not more people want it to happen! It's sad when a person discards and/or makes fun of an idea just as quickly as said idea is voiced outloud, the reason I want reach for the PC is that it would be a better gaming experiance and it would prevent the little craptards that think they're so good at Reach just because they kill you faster than you kill them almost non-existant because you'd haveto use the mouse, different keys, and proper memory of the keyboard to win, which is true skill where as on the Xbox anyone can just grab a controller and go around shooting like a crazed gunman and rack up the kills like a pro right from the start. The diference I believe is that because of the location and general spread of the action, chat, Movement, zoom, and other keys require you to focus more on being precise because you can't just go crazy with pressing random buttons and expect a large amount of kills. The PC makes you work for each and every kill, which is the way it should be. You should have to earn your kills, not get them by blind luck and random pressing of buttons and control sticks. I may sound like I'm bashing the Xbox and Halo: Reach but I'm not, I actually play REACH quite abit and though I've been sidetracked by afew other games for awhile, Halo is still better than Call of Duty ever will be, no matter how much REACH may 'suck' I just hope that people would be more considerate of what goes on during games and the inexplicable ease of getting a kill in Halo: Reach, so many other games on the Xbox 360 make you work hard for a kill than Halo: Reach does. I really wish the Profit vs. Popularity Idiots at Microsoft and the kings of game creation at Bungie read this.

By working for the kills do you mean point and click? Because that's why I use the kb/m, it's easier to use.

no, but it's pretty close. it's just the fact that in Halo: REACH you aren't forced to work towards the kill, instead you just spray bullets like crazy and the people who actually show discipline with their weapons are cut down because of it. Discipline and good aim were the virtues of all the former halo games but now the 'virtue' is to spray and pray and waste most of your ammunition the oment you think you can hit your enemies. It just kills the game play because if you're playing Team Snipers and you take careful aim three different enemies will shoot their sniper rifles until they are empty and when you take the shot another guy comes up behind you for a comical, but humiliating assasination.

I figured by adding spread to the DMR it would be rewarding more patient players. Slapping the trigger as fast as you can would result in a gaping wide poor accuracy at medium range. Pulling the trigger just a little less than once per second (like 7 shots in 6 seconds) keeps every shot on target.

yeah, I also wish that halo:reach had kept duel wielding but that's not relevent right now. though the spray and pray thing is good for machinima and just screwing around in general, it's annoying in multiplayer. I'll start a seperate discusion in the halo reach forum so we don't clog this one up with random chatter. http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=55691358&v iewreplies=true

Reach was optimized to be installed to your Xbox. I got an Xbox 360 (S) for Christmas with the 250 Gig Hard Drive. If you install the game you'll rarely see any of these problems. I haven't seen it once. I did see it while playing on my friend's Xbox while he was just playing it off the disk.

Cheese, yum.

Bungie doesn't decide what platforms the games go on, unless they publish the games themselves.

Which they dont.

You know what i'm waiting for? Halo Wars on PC.
