Thanks a lot. I have one question though. Can you turn vehicles into capture points like you can in King of the Hill? I kind of want to know for when I make my map.

I've tried this but I can't get the Bomb/Core to spawn! It just turns it into a territory objective instead. I set one Capture Plate to INV_OBJ_FLAG and Spawn Sequence 1 like Bungie said, and the other Capture Plate to INV_OBJECTIVE and Spawn Sequence 1 as well.
I don't know why it won't work and it's annoying me! HELP!

EDIT: I found out now that it has to be Spawn Sequence 3. Just sayin'.

Hello, community.

My new invasion map is now in Alpha testing phase, and I have done some large play tests, and have decided to add a few objects to help with the balance of the game. One is a weapon (Focus Rifle) and a man cannon. What I want to do with these, however, is this:

- AFTER phase 2 begins (Assault Phase), The focus rifle spawns after 30 seconds.

- AFTER phase 2 begins (Assault Phase), the man cannon appears (or becomes active) after 2 min, 30 seconds.

I have the focus rifle set as so:

- Spawn time: 30
- Spawn Sequence: 2
- Place at Start: True
- Game Type Label: Inv_Weapon

Man cannon:

-Spawn time: 150
-Spawn Sequence: 2
-Place at Start: True
-Gametype label: INV_MANCANNON

Odd thing is, The vehicles I have set to appear after 30 seconds after phase 3 begins works fine, but I can't get the man cannon or the weapon to spawn at the times I want. Instead, the timer seems to begin at the start of the round.

If you can answer this question, or at least throw me in the right direction, you will be rewarded with a plate of (metaphorical) cookies.

can someone list the exact invasion spawn points spec you need?

i have them labled inv spawn phase 1,2,3 but it isnt work. and if a player dies they can spawn on any phase's respawn point. do i need to put in grids or something? because my map doesnt move entierly horizontal.

I suggest you fix your connection. And, many other people payed $70 for Reach too, and they surely don't want player like you to lag up and ruin their experience.

Pretty awesome. But I don't know how I'm going to find 11 people to help play test my map...


you COULD just test it with two people. first find out what happens after every phase to see if that works, then see if everything is spawning nicely. Finally, if all that turns out well, make some friends! :D

I think that Bungie should create allot more invasion maps, i have gotten allot of reports from people that their should be more maps like spire. If Bungie wants world domination then they should definitely get more maps like spire.

ok I have a problem...

I have this map across the cliff/mountain thing on Montana, which looks great, and I have save zones on it/kill zones below that work fine.

Now the kicker is, there is also a bridge to Alaska. Alaska has a safe zone which I want to have spawn for the 3rd phase (as a way to block off Alaska until it is involved), and i've tested it and yet it wont work. Currently its at:

Spawn sequence: 3
place at start: true
Game-specific: false
Symmetry: both
Game type label: INV_VEHICLE (as instructed for later phase spawns)

I'm a little lost as to what I have done wrong, most of everything else has been covered here, but your safe spawn part hasn't covered it.
obviously I get its not a vehicle, but i have no idea how else to make it spawn for the 3rd phase. Or can it not be done and I need to make the entire bridge spawn late? If so, will making it "INV_VEHICLE" make that spawn 3rd phase?

But great guide. Helped me in every way other than this.

For some reason in the phase with assult, rihgt when the bomb is armed, it gets returned. Could this have anything to do with the fact that I put defense timer on disabled?

Be sure to do this:

Spawn Sequence:3
Place at start: true
Game type label: INV_VEHICLE or INV_WEAPON
(didn't really find a huge difference when it came to building objects)

and DON'T FORGET to turn on the SPAWN TIME TO 1 second or more
(1 second if you want it to spawn instantly, if you leave it at never the object will have the instructions to spawn at phase 3 but will also have the instruction to never spawn.)

I have a weird problem... I made a map of Invasion with Elites attacking, the only problem is... they can't go through the teleporters. My teleporters are set to

Team: Neutral
Players: True

Elites are the only ones who can't go through, spartans can go through and so can monitors.
Any solutions or recognition of the same problem would help.

Having an issue with Invasion bombs and vehicle use. No matter what I set the settings to in Game Options it doesn't seem to allow a bomb carrier to ride in the Falcon.
If you go to:
Core Carrier Traits - Movement - Vehicle Use

And change it to any setting (besides full control) I haven't been able to get this to work.
I can get the bomb carrier to be able to drive vehicles but I want to only allow the bomb carrier to be a passenger in the Falcon (or gunner).

Any ideas? Is this bugged?
