lag is a big factor in every online shooter, it's just more noticeable in halo because it takes longer to kill your opponents. In games like call of duty you can get away with a high ping because it only takes a bit of spraying and you've got the kill. I think its still playable, but AR fests in halo 3 were awful because kills almost always end in beatdowns with the AR, and because i lag i would melee, I would hear the crunch of my melee connecting, but because it hasnt registered over the server yet the enemy beats me down instead. I have died countless times because of this and it's really frustrating. Apparently melee strength has been reduced in reach, so hopefully people wont rely on beatdowns to score a kill so much.
