Ha ha.

But in all honesty, some of the points made in the OP of this thread have counterpoints. These are no longer "unexplainable."

Not true. On a beach area early on in Halo 2 I got out of the Warthog I was driving and a couple of Elites that were behind or hiding in something, or somewhere out of my view nearby jumped into my Warthog and one said, "Witness my driving prowess!" and took my freakin' Warthog. Funniest thing I had ever had happen to me in a Halo game as it was so random and came out of nowhere when I was not at all expecting it. But it did happen. Probably more for comic releif. Not sure if comic relief is considered canon. :)

"He was right. Fred had seen Elites, their weapons depleted of charge, die rather than touch fully loaded UNSC assault rifles at their feet."

- Ghosts of Onyx, page 207.

I wonder if this is a glitch or Bungie did this on purpose?

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=289514 5&player=MastaSin333

I've played Halo: CE I've never seen a covie take a human weapon nor vehicule, Halo 2 or 3 neither, this is the first time in a Halo game that i see Elites taking or using humans weaponary.
Fix'd link - and that is pretty goddamned epic :P Is there an Elite driving as well, or is it just
those two?

in firefight, you have an option of elite 'heretics', who use human weapons. they look no different from normal elite's. perhaps these were heretics?

Elite minor #1: HEY GUISE LOOKIE, HUMAN GUNZ! LUTICE UZ THEM K?
Elite ultra: NO! THAT WOOD BE HERASSY
Elite minor #2: I WONT SAI NUTHN IF U WONT
Elite ultra:...ILL TAKE DMR PLZ K THX
Grunt heavy: CAN I HAZ ROKIT LAWNCHAIR?
Elite minor #2: NO
Grunt heavy: SAD FACE :(

I don't understand the point of this thread anymore. It seems counterpoints aren't even addressed, and a discussion has ceased to exist.

We lived in this thread like 3 weeks ago until we got kicked out.

no one comes to this forum or bungie much any more

Bungie2 knows what he's talking about and addressed these errors accurately, what else can be said? First off, Bungie created Halo, don't question what they've done or say any of their games are non-canon. Second, don't let microsoft's two cents in the halo canon confuse you nor believe whole heartedly in anything they give. Bungie knew where they were going with the story since the beginning. Who knows. They may even fill us in on the entire history of halo someday.

oh yea? just like the halo encyclopedia right? that turned out so well.

Bungie claims to have this halo bible, but the continue to write stories ontop of stories. I'm not gonna lie, when I find out that books that I have bought aren't as true as they say, it makes me not want to read the book anymore.

I honestly kinda wish I would wait until the whole halo universe story is over just so I don't have to waste my time believing one thing and then come to find out I have to change my whole perspective. I mean, whos to say they wont make a game about first strike and rewrite that whole story?

Honestly for all we know there could be 30 spartan IIs or there could be 300. There is really no right answer

We're the ones in the dark who can't see the whole picture Bungie/343i know what they're doing, they have the whole big picture and can connect all the little dots we can't yet or can only guess at the connections. And actually very little of Halo's story ever gets changed, the only real change introduced in Halo Reach is the extension of the timeline for the battle, and that's it. Every other important facet of the book remains exactly the same. Blue Team still wipes the NAV Data from the Circumference, Red Team still has their hot drop to the Generator Complex, Reach still falls in a short amount of time when the 30th rolls around, and Master Chief and the Autumn still wind up at Alpha Halo.

ShadowKnight X0

This is insanity!
Halo:Reach was not destroying the canon! There was probebly some things in the book we never got to know. Thats how I take it.

New issue.

Kat and dot say Reach's fleet was wiped out by the single SC.

Yet it only takes 500 Archer missiles to remove the shields and cripple the ship.

the average frigate alone holds 1,200 of them. so the entire fleet could fire 100 missiles each and take out the SC. And it would only take 15 MACs (if that) to rid the shields

Where does it say you need 500 missiles? I thought the amount varies depending on ship type, and even then I don't recall any one ship having a set endurance rating established.

The PoA took out the sniper ships shields (which was a SC) with slight more than 500 missiles and ran out.

If the average frigate has 1,200 missiles and they make up the bulk of UNSC fleets...

It was a SC but not a super carrier like the LNOS, it was a super cruiser.

Well, they are leaving Halo behind, it's not their problem anymore and they need the money. Still this game leaves a lot of canon breaches. (Whoops! Typo. ;p )

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

we didn't answer that for the 4th time fir a reason and it wasn't because you "fixed" anything. not to mention you don't go over every single issue.

"While the Covenant are never said to be on the planet, it is never said that they weren't on the planet in the book."

clear and obvious contradiction.

60 percent of the damn UNSC fleet isn't going to be local stuff, that is majority of the entire damn fleet.

and uppercut is still stupid and completely retarded.

tribute was attacked after reach, if it was attacked before hand the UNSC would have known idiot.

i am positive you got some time error with the PoA and even if you didn't the fact that it is on reach during a covenant invasion is the main red flag other than it being in atmosphere.

NOBLE team make sense because jun and emile should have been there from the start

Lol, you didn't fix anything at all. You just covered it up with another contradictions which it makes your arguments futile now.

There is still unexplainable errors in Reach. As Grey described, I agree with him.

I lol'ed at this, you didn't explain anything unless you are a Bungie employee.

All you did was to resume and match up the events of Halo: Reach and The fall of Reach.

I thought that Bungie said that the games were official canon? And lemme explain the Pillar of Autumn thing right now: Wasn't it severely damaged in a battle with a battleship and forced to land for repairs?

Nah, no time error. Plenty of time for both missions to happen, thanks to a retcon.

That's all I'm gonna point out though. Not touching the rest because as you said, he didn't fix crap.

Not by battleship, it's Super Cruiser.

I don't remember it getting damaged by the cruiser at all.

And the Pillar never "landed" for repairs. Infact, the refitting station was in space, because it makes more sense that way.

>The pillar of autumn is refitted for it's mission in space
>The Pillar is leaving for it's mission when Reach is attacked
>The Pillar destroys a Super Cruiser
>They return to orbit and split into two teams.
>Red to the surface
>Blue to destroy NAV data
>John returns to the Pillar a short time later with a few marines(Johnson) and Linda's "dead" body.
>Keyes recognizes that Reach is screwed, and initiates Cole Protocol to try and escape.

That's basically how it went down.
