I remember reading that PoA is built in space and is not made for in-orbit flight. That liftoff scene on Halo:Reach pains my butt.

Also; I have a question conserning the dates in tFoR..
In the last chapter of the book it is written that the year is 2525 when PoA finds Halo. But in my Halo:CE game-manual it says 2552. Author error?

Is any of this really a suprise to you all? bungie even said in BWU in may i think(before reach came out) i think it was in may anyways
That Halo:Reach will not follow the books

They said it will not follow the book's story. They also stated that the FoR book and game fit with each other perfectly in an interview about Halo: Reach (which they do not).

I never said Reach was non-canon, but it certainly doesn't pay attention to the Fall of Reach book. In fact, it conflicts with every book from FoR to Ghost of Onyx (four books).

HajDuk

Yea reach doesn't make any sense when compared to fall of Reach, especially the time it took for Reach to Fall and the placement of where the last spartans and Masterchief were at what time. Like in Fall of Reach masterchief was never actually ON the planet reach when it was attacked just in a mac cannon but in reach he is on the planet in the Pillar. Also am I the only one pissed that Halo Wars has the flood in it 20 years before everything else said humans first contacted the flood?

It's surprising to see just how many errors have been made to what extent...these are silly errors that could have been easily not made...

The thing is more than half of what the OP has listed have all ready been resolved by Bungie, and thus are no longer, or the solutions are something ridiculously obvious and easy to see.

No, Bungie hasn't explained ANY of these errors.

Um yes they have, at least half of the errors in your OP have had some sort of solution provided, or is something that just doesn't need an official solution because it is something the fans can figure out for themselves and/or doesn't affect the story in absolutely any way whatsoever.
Or it's your good old fashioned ret-con and thus doesn't need an explanation and only conflicts if one refuses to acknowledge that an aspect of a story has been ret-conned.

Error #1: Reach was invaded on July 24th.

I'd probably chock this one up to ret-con, though it is something one can find their own explanation for if they're still bothered.

Error #2: Alpha Company was wiped out completely during Operation: PROMETHEUS in 2537. Carter, Emile, and Jun should not be alive.

This one is explained right here.

Error #3: ONI's actions as well as the Cole Protocol.

I am willing to give you this one. Though there are still quite a few plausible explanations that one can come up with to explain the Circumference's NAV Data requiring being purged.

Error #4: Carter, Emile, and Jun's age.

This doesn't even need explaining and has absolutely no affect on the story whatsoever. And it isn't even an error anyway, we know ages don't exactly correlate to how old the person actually is in Halo because of cryo sleep.

Error #5: Lack of Orbital MAC's.

Doesn't need an explanation. And besides which, planets are huge places, something as small (in comparison) as a SMAC station is not going to be seen unless you're close to it, which the LNoS was not. And the UNSC is not going to throw its most powerful defense stations carelessly at a colossal ship that would eat them for breakfast with absolutely no effort at all.

And the game made it abundantly clear that the SMACs and all the rest of the ODPs were still there. In fact the day before Operation UPPERCUT Dot mentions that their orbital defenses are under attack, probably both via the generator complex and physically attacking the SMAC cluster itself. Since we don't know how that played out it is entirely possible that they may have momentarily been offlined and thus could not be used until they could be repaired.

Error #6: Pillar of Autumn on Reach.

The only way people can even argue this as an error is with the "not rated for atmosphere" argument, which is not really an effective argument.

the cole protocol, as seen here only applies to space vessels and space facilities, so everything could have already of been purged on the 24th, the circumference could of easily had the date of the hack attempt by cortana moved back to an earlier date

Or it arrived at Reach late into the fighting at some point when it wouldn't have to purge its NAV Data just to jump into the system, and then it gets erased because of Cortana poking around. And then because it doesn't exist and because they're caught by surprise by the appearance of the Fleet of Particular Justice and because the Circumference "doesn't exist" it isn't discovered that it wasn't purge until almost too late.

The enemy diversion you're ignoring is their main attack.

If the ODPs couldn't turn they would be useless. To aim that super MAC it has to be aimed at a target with precision accuracy.

I was playing Halo CE recently and noticed the grunts speak some English. How come these grunts speak english, yet the ones on Reach (just a tiny bit before Halo CE,apparently) speak no english whatsoever?

Not sure if this a proper error (as I'm basing this off the games)but I'm just wondering.

It's to make the Covenant more alien to us, making them seem like barbaric monsters hellbent on our destruction....or maybe they were bored.

Most of the errors you pointed out are right, but canon does also say that some S-IIIs were pulled from their companies and went on to become headhunter teams. This would have saved them from PROMETHEUS.

Like what?

Last time, I recall that most of "errors" was never explained at all. Journal did not help that much. It is still full of errors.

Rest assured, we are not trolls. Do trolls discuss in intelligent discussion and maintain proper debates? I think not. It is not fair to call us troll because of "complaining" about canon breakers in Halo: Reach.

I believe in the beginning of the fall of reach(its been a while since i read the books so I'm not sure), they mention a newly issued translator. That or Cortona (who is directly in 117's mind) is translating the Unggoy's speech as he hears it.

That would explain it I guess.

Azure Deity - Helljumping Since The Start.

It was explained that the covenant themselves learnt english in a scene where all comms went dark, then a San'Shyuum appeared on screens speaking english. The covenant got there first so presumably UNSC stole and reversed a translation matrix later on.

Apparantly however the covenant speak english so that the humans understand their threats and their doom approaching.

Ok. Maybe because I'm new to the whole "Halo Canon" that I don't get this but can't some of these be solved REALLY EASILY.

For the
Jun and Carter and Emile issue. Who said they were on the asteriod?

And with Master Cheif being on the Autmn Who said that he wasn't always there as a backup plan? He was in cyro sleep.

But really, why go in to so much detail reading the books when you can just enjoy the game and get the same effects.

Heres the list from first to last in how they happened

Halo Wars
Halo Reach
Halo CE/Anniversary
Halo 2
Halo 3 ODST
Halo 3
Halo 4

Don't get why that,s so hard.

:)

Having just read tFoR a week ago, I'm really annoyed by Halo: Reach. Sure I knew what generally happened before reading it, but to actually experience what happened in contrast to what Bungie said happened, well it was just shocking.

Have the issues in the OP been addressed yet? I've read the last maybe 20 pages out of boredom, and it doesn't seem like it...

The list is kind of misleading... as there are hundreds of more, unlisted errors.
