I've been searching but I can't find anything. You're gonna have to go snag a video or a screenshot to help us out.

The datapad story is badass. It feels so... Marathon.

Is there anywhere online I can watch the commentary?

Ya there are Troopers named M. O'Donnell and C. Errera.

On the bobs, if you were to get something awsome for them, I'd say it would have to do with 7.

On a side note, has anyone else noticed how there are two beeps when you get close to the mystery switch? I'm pretty sure it was only two, but the 10 seconds scared me, so I couldn't hang around to find out.

*Edit* Nvm, it looks like it just beeps 4 times at an interval.

I'm so confused. Is there a thread out there somewhere that has a good description of everything... ranging from these Bobs and the data pads, to how to get onto the PoA?

Yeah I still didn't find the number pad.
If you shoot at most of the pads, it might look like the colors change slightly due to there being a bullet hole in the wall behind it. But its not the actually buttons. I don't know if this is what someone found or if its an obvious thing, but its what I noticed.

I checked every number pad I could find on The Exodus from the beginning to Rally Point Alpha. If anyone else finds something just let me know.

Also, this was posted earlier in the thread, but I think its totally worth investigating for potential buttons and stuff.

You hit the listed button combinations, then when you see it say "pan camera", you just play through the level as far as you want to go. Then leave the game and watch the video in theater. Once the pan camera in enabled in the video, you can free roam the camera almost anywhere.

I checked on The Package and you can see the mystery button while in theater mode. So that probably means you can see any other buttons in levels. If you want to explore an area alot, its worth it to play through the whole level, as the checkpoints will cause certain parts of the level to appear. If you try to get your camera too close to an area that isn't formed properly, it will snap you back to your body.

I'll try to keep exploring with it, but feel free to look around!

I've seen my family fade away, You've taken my whole life left me nothing to say. Sitting in silence with heaven above me i prayed every night by their graves. I search for closure i feel it no longer i can't turn my face away. I stand before you Ive seen what I've had to but now i leave your sight to avenge my family, I've taken my whole life there's nothing left to say.

Sweet find.

Any one notice on the 7th data pad there are random capped letters that spell out HALO REACH PLANET?

Look for your self:
Data Pad 7

You need to scroll to the bottom of that page to see the passage

EDIT: So does 16

Irony... the site Haloreachplanet.com has a huge list about the data pads, switchs, and bobs.

Posted by: Spartanic Ghost
I'll make a list for everyone, so we can all stop confusing each other.

FACTS:

-BOB can appear on any difficulty, but seems to prefer Normal and Heroic, for whatever reason.

-Most BOBs are only semi-hostile

-Most levels contain 1-2 BOBs. 2 Being the Maximum.

-BOBs can be found in Co-op.

-Most BOBs will despawn anywhere from 25 seconds to little over a minute.

-BOBs Almost always Spawn on Checkpoints

-The Spec-Ops Elite with the data pad on Winter Contingency is NOT a BOB.

-The BOB on Lone Wolf will -blam!- your face if you are not cautious.

M2 Winter Contingency: 1 BOB (Possible 2). Spawns with Concussion Rifle. Many different Spawn locations. See Page 18 of this thread on my post of his many spawns. (There have been reports of a BOB Spawning with A Plasma Repeater, though this requires further investigation, until we can prove BOTH will spawn while playing through the level)

M3 ONI Swordbase: 1 Fake BOB. 2 Spawn locations. This Elite will Spawn as either a White Spec-Ops, or a White Officer Elite, Duel-Weilding Plasma Rifles. Will Spawn in the courtyard of Swordbase, or near the top level inside Swordbase. He is Not an Official BOB, however he is counted as one.

M4 Nightfall: 1 BOB. Spawns with Plasma Rifle. Seems to be able to Spawn on any of the Buildings throughout the level, but almost always spawns ON a building. (Needs more evidence, and more investigation)

M5 Tip of the Spear: 1 BOB (possible 2).First Spawns with Concussion Rifle, Second Spawns with Fuel Rod Gun. The First Spawns on the short hill right after getting the Rocket hog, and right before the AA gun. Very easy find. The Second, supposedly spawns in the rocks on the way towards the Spire, it is unknown if he lasts long enough to be killed by any means other than the Falcon turret, but if so, would seem rather difficult. This also needs investigation. More pictures of the Fuel Rod BOB would be great. More evidence proving his exact spawn location would be better. Evidence proving or disproving the spawning of both BOBs in the same level, would be absolutely ideal.

M6 Long Night of Solice: 1 BOB. Spawns with Concussion Rifle. Spawns in the Bridge. Pretty Straight-foreward.

M7 Exodus: 0 BOBs. There are no Elites in this level at all What-so-ever. Finding a BOB is doubtful.

M8 New Alexandria: 0 BOBs (so far). This Level is so vast there are many locations, and even more importantly, many timeframes & checkpoint activations. Finding any here, would take forever. Heres to hoping some brave souls decide to comb through this level, until we can confirm or deny the existance of any BOBs.

M9 The Package: 1 BOB (2 Possible). Spawns with Concussion Rifle. The first Spawns after Rally point Alpha, hang left, and go up the ramp, to meet him, and a squad of Jackals. The second, whether that be second BOB, or second spawn location for the first, Spawns after Rally point Bravo. We have pictures to confirm that he does indeed spawn, but nothing more than that. Further investigation required to prove exact Spawn location, and Checkpoint activation, that this "Second BOB" Spawns on. Also further investigation to see if the two BOBs of this level, will BOTH Spawn. If So, we know it is possible for 2 BOBs to Spawn on one level, and tus can finally confirm that 2 BOBs can indeed exist on the same level.

M10 Piller of Autumn: 1 BOB. Spawns With Concussion Rifle. This BOB Spawns after Rally point Alpha, in the garage where the Scorpion would Spawn, were you playing Invasion on Boneyard. Pretty Simple.

M11 Lone Wolf: 1 BOB. Spawns with Energy Sword. This Bob typically spawns some time after 7 minutes. More investigation is required to determine Spawn time to Difficulty, that being what time he spawns, in accordance to what difficulty the game is set to.

And thats it folks. So start investigating the things that need ivestigated, and hopefully we can get some of this stuff cleared up, so that we can further proceed with our hunt.

You say that the bob on ONI swordbase is either a spec ops or officer, but I have seen it as a zealot and minor.

Also, I saw a white ultra duel wielding plasma rifles on long night of solace, but as ultra's are white normally, I don't know if it is one.

In addition, you are making a lot of assumptions. For all we know, there could be 10 bobs on each level, but 9 of them only show up under very spefic conditions.

Is it plausible that the mystery switch on The Package has a twin? There was a mention of two in every level, but there are two tribute room swithces already (one to get in, one to get out/open the cutscene), and then the mystery switch. Just thinking out loud, there may be another switch we're missing on the Package.

on the final mission, you are given rockets before the mongoose, the purpose for these rockets, what else to kill the 2 scarabs, you have just enough bullets to take down both scarabs, somebody try doing this, it should take a while, ill keep trying as well, first on easy, then on legendary, then look for anything

use the rockets to take down the both scarabs, you have to aim right 4 times, 2 times per scarab

if somebody could do this, and send me the video, ill look for it, and see what happens after both of them fall. Thanks

Just thought I'd bring this to everyone's attention...

This website: Halo Reach Planet claims to have found what the mystery switch on "The Package" does. Read the comments in this post: http://www.haloreachplanet.com/2010/09/16/video-halo-reach-me morabilia-room-easter-egg/#comments

They also claim to have found another hidden switch that unlocks 4 secret banshees and takes off map boundries. Here's their twitter where they state these claims: http://twitter.com/haloreachplanet

They said they'd update soon like 4 days ago but still nothing.. on either switch.

Honestly... not trying to troll or anything...

But does anybody actually read the whole thread before posting?

I've been following this thread since it started and it's just constant people coming in, asking the same questions. Questions that are answered in the first post.

It's basically spamming up the thread. Please read the whole thread before you post about something you found. Good chance is that someone else already found it.

That way we can keep this thread from being 15+ pages of the same repeated questions.

If you have seen the faker Bob as a Zealot, take a screenshot, as everyone else who claims to have seen it as a zealot, has no proof as of yet. I have seen it as a minor as well, I simply forgot to mention it.

The Ultras and Rangers on LNoS are supposed to be duel wielding plasma rifles, its part of the mission.

Like I said, everything needs more investigation. Very little we know right now is guarenteed. As of yet though, there has not been more than 2 BOBs per level, and even that, needs investigation to prove if they can both appear in the same level, on the same playthrough.

I highly doubt there would be as many as 10 BOBs on any given level. There have been too many people playing this game, in too many different ways, SOMEONE would have noticed that there was a BOB that nobody else saw. So until someone posts in this thread that they found 10 BOBs in one level, on one playthrough, WITH a screenshot of each one, I think it is safe to assume the maximum is 2 per level, and again, if even that.

I found a sign on New Alexandria that says KED, or maybe DEK. It's upside down/backwards, so I really don't know which. The strange part, is that it is not only in the cutscene starting the level (where you see all of the buildings of importance you go to throughout the leve), but that you can only read it when you turn your night vision on, for about half of a second. Otherwise, it's just blank white light. This probably has nothing to do with Bobs or switches or anything of the sort, just thought I'd point it out.

"In the end all you sold us was boredom." -Andrew Schwabb

so dumb question...do you have to complete a level you find a datapad on for it to "register" that you picked it up? Or could you simply load the map, run to the location, read it, then save and quit?
