If you push both switches at the same time on Oni:Sword Base in Co-op campaign it starts a race.

thanks to RvB

Even though they didn't find it, and it was posted quite a few times in this thread alone.

Ok just put several hours exploring every nook and cranny on Exodus. This consisted of
*Walking across all the beams where you meet the bull frogs
*Into the ceiling before the suicidal grunts
*Inside some of the cargo containers underneath the areas across the bullfrog meeting place.
*Going out on various platforms that were out of bounds
*Trying to go inside the seraph, the inside is not solid, but u can ride on top of it and go out of bounds.
*Exploring the hilltops before the end, after the evac.
*Trying to push, shoot, hit every locked door.

Notes of Interest
-Data Pad 6 in the rafters above where the first battle with the bull frogs take place. (Backwards audio the same as the others?)
-2 unlocked green door pads. But unable to enter(One of the top floors, above a bathroom facing the building with the evac point) There is a dead marine with some supplies)
-Number on the radios to fire the missles at the end. 7.070.763
-If there is a Bob he still may randomly appear from one of the various locked doors or killable with the turret during the evac and is running around while you are in the sky.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Well, a BOB was someone from the Marathon series, so maybe it is like a Marathon Easter egg. Here is a link. Click this and it may help

Data pads, buttons, may be like the Marathon Man achievement. One of my friends told me the data pads unlock more armor . . . So maybe that is a reason.

And the buttons? Can you even press them?

why are they called bobs?

All our dreams come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

Davey is beyond any shadow of a doubt that red haired F-Blam!- tryhard that would always keep you from seeing the Deku Tree.

[16:45] kalriq: because you're a living legend --<3

Just an idea about the legendary ending - SPOILERS-

Perhaps on lone wolf, you have to find two switches that are hidden to activate it?
It makes sense, as this is the one mission where people can't really 'goof off' and look for things as they're being attacked constantly.

Just a thought.

Has anyone considered collecting data pads whilst wearing the wrist armour that "stores data" (i can't remember what it is called). I'm not trawling through this thread to find out, but if not...

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!!!!

Off topic of the Bobs, switches etc. I was curious as to what causes the red plip on the radar during the Winter Contingency level (The part after meeting the farmers), So i had a look and found this little guy. (Sorry if this is old.)

WTH?

I'll try to get some pics of it for those who don't want to download the vid.

EDIT: Got some pics.

Mini Man

I doubt this is an easter egg, just found it kinda weird.

There have been reports of "micro wars" there was one good one with many vehicles running around shooting each other, including UNSC frigates. This might just be a hint to there are more. I wonder if there are mini flood.

I make a legitimate thread on the most logical choice for the next Bond actor, and you take that away from me by creating a parody thread indirectly connecting my thread to yours.

I hope your kids have bad influences and develop bad personalities. I wish this with all my heart.

The Marathon Vidmaster involved some crazy things like playing on Total Carnage (Highest Difficulty) killing all bobs, and only using your fist, grenades, or the fusion pistol to activate switches.

Can't get on now, but it might be worth checking to see if there is a way to activate switches without hitting X.

Note: It also didn't matter in Marathon whether the Bobs were dead or alive; if they teleported out, you were fine. As long as there were no Bobs left on the level, you were good.

That is either a jackal or a Skirmisher.

but most likely a Skirmisher because you can see it jump off the building that you in if you sprint through and get out side and look up.

i think its a Skirmisher because he jumped really far and i think this is just a way they was introducing him. i guess.

i tryed killing him. but hes to fast for me.

and those microwars are just low polygon versions of the real thing so they can save framerate on far distance battles

And no there is no flood.

Which i was confused about because i was sure there was ganna explain flood alittle better in this game since teh other game they were not really suprized that flood were around. so i thought they knew them already. but i guess it happed some where else.

I can 100% percent confirm that you receive a skull kill for killing the camo elite on the first level. I have tried it with more than one person and you get one skull kill every time you kill him.

However, I do not know if this is the only way to get a skull kill. All I know is you will definitely get one for racing ahead and killing that elite.

not so fast.

I have killed that guy at least 4 times just to show friends that he was real and what he was holding. # 10 data pad.

i ahev also killed the bob that is next to the #1 datapad. and i do not have a single skull on mine.

So we're back to having no idea what causes that eh?

Well I need to do more extensive testing, but we know a few ideas. Somehow, me and my friend both got skull deaths in 2 playthroughs of Lone Wolf. We didn't check after the first game, so we're unsure who got it in which playthrough. But then during a solo run where he tried to live as long as he could and not kill anyone, he did NOT get a skull death. So we're assuming right now that skull deaths are sometimes involved with being killed in Lone Wolf before the final scene is triggered. When we watched the videos, it seemed like simple plasma rifle kills, no bobs present. No one holding a skull in their hands. It also does NOT seem to be awarded by causing the final death leading to the scene, as I would have more than I currently do.

It's also shocking to me that people have skull KILLS. This means there probably isn't an actual weapon, but some other variable involved in the deaths.

EDIT: Actually XGhostGear, you have 2 Skull KILLS. http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/careerstats/weapons.aspx?pl ayer=XGhostGear&vc=4. It's like 6 from the bottom.

Can you go kill that elite again and see if you get up to three? Because as of now, we can re-confirm that killing the invisible elite WILL give you a skull kill.

Actually I checked his kills, he's got 2 Classified skull kills from Winter Contingency.

Yep a lot of people seem to have skull deaths on Lone Wolf (including myself). But I have a theory, the elite at the beginning is the one that kills you in the end? This would explain why you get a skull kill for killing him and skull death at the end.

EDIT: This also leads me to think that the elite on Winter Contingency has something to do with the legendary ending. Maybe he has to be killed at the start so you survive longer at the end?

Does anyone know if there is camo elites during the Lone Wolf mission? Is it possible that the skull death comes from getting killed by a camo elite?

  • 09.22.2010 8:34 AM PDT

Seems i have a few skull deaths also...and a traffic cone kill lol
