I also found that poster along with the poster with the 36 people. My poster also had 2 numbers crossed off, but it was the other poster that caught my attention. I think that the four rows and 9 people representthe four difficulties and 9 levels. The red person representing the 7th mission on legendary, a.k.a. Exodus, New Alexandria.

An interesting thought. But what about Exodus in New Alexandria. Its where we find the secret "homage room". I would be disappointed if that was all it was alluding to. However the figure is red....perhaps other spartans? It would be hard to say.

Interestingly enough, there is a switch on that level that has unconfirmed results. Perhaps the poster is pointing towards that.

Either way BOTH of these posters (crossed numbers and character rows) interest me greatly.

This thread is beautiful.

If you guys need any help with anyone, drop me a message.

Veritas Aequitas

Well im convinced its not "other spartans". Its hard to type formally when you're playing at the same time ^_^.

At any rate, my money would be on something we need to do/kill/find on that level. There is the crazy guy, who could be considered "red".

After looking on the map of Exodus the only thing I could find that seemed strange were a glitchy keypad that disappeared when zoomed in on or approached too quickly. It had a green unlocked symbol on the pad, but the door wouldn't open. Also there are quite a few terminals that show a picture of Sword Base and say something about a security breach.

  • 10.02.2010 9:12 PM PDT

Veritas Aequitas

Thats normal story banter with the computer laptops. At the end of the mission they talk about how sword base has been taken over.

I'm just wondering who it wants us to kill/find. Its clearly bipedal and "human" looking so we can rule out grunts, hunters, and engineers. So what would the target look like? A Brute, Elite, Human or Jackal. I wouldn't rule out jackals just because when they stand straight they look somewhat human.

ah, best thread so far! im glad I joined the group. Do you think I could join the BoB kill squad?

Another new finding on winter contingency! There is a poster next to the one described before where the civi with the data pad is. This poster has 10 numbers on it, and next to each number is the corresponding name for the number "one, two, etc.". Now in my game, seven and ten are crossed off.

As we know, there are 10 missions in the game. That being said, I have seven and ten crossed off in the game. Literally there are "x"s over the numbers. I'm wondering if I've done something in those levels. Alas I wont know unless someone else logs in and checks their sign.

Did i mention each name is written in gold?

Finally, some of these posters have "ARI SOL" written on the sign, followed by a number. The number on the one with the gold lettering and "x"s is 9.

P.S. On the bottom of almost every poster is a dice showing 5 dots (the 5 side of a dice). The poster with the gold character has a red 5.

Hopefully we can piece this together...

Just helping, I usually just lurk in here since it interests me, but I thought I might as well try and contribute.

I saw the poster with the golden words, (One, Two, Three etc)
My Ten and Seven are also crossed out, but the dice-looking symbol is black. Are you sure yours was red?

It also has "Ari sol 9" on it.

If this is old news I'm sorry, but I've been trying to spread it around since I can't find any other sources on it. I believe there are 2 Bobs on Nightfall, one being in the later part of the mission and the other being right near the start. It could just be that it's the same Bob, and shows up in the later part of the mission if you don't kill him at the start.

I have a video and screenshot as proof, the video is explaining how exactly I found him in the first place. I just wanted to sneak through Nightfall because it sounded like fun, but I saw a Bob standing on cliffs edge near the beginning of the mission. I have tried getting to him without camo but no matter how fast I go it all seems to rely on whether or not I'm detected by them in the first outpost you attack.

I firmly believe that Bobs and switches have a lot to do with the legendary ending but until we find the hidden ending we won't know.

if you look carefully on the poster..its like

1. one
2. two
3. three
4. four
5. five
1, six
2. seven
3. eight
4. nine
5. eleven

im kida curious why they skipped 10 and crossed out 11 instead..dk if anyone pointed this out yet

  • 10.03.2010 1:47 AM PDT

how funny what it be if to get the legendary ending you have to beat the game on easy and all of this stuff was bungies way of throwing everyone off

  • 10.03.2010 2:42 AM PDT

I know they only appear in co-op but what if some are specifically designed to appear in 4 person co-op much like the rockets in odsts last level. Just a suggestion.

The sighted man sayeth to the blind man, "The sky is blue, today is a good day."
The blind man sayeth to the sighted man, "You judge the day by what you see, what if I judged the day by what I see? The sky is black, what does that mean to you?"
The sighted man sayeth, "That someone is dead or dying today."
The blind man sayeth back, "Then the entire world is dying before my eyes."

ON A BRIGHTER NOTE: "Every step back is in preparation for a giant leap forward." ~ me

Nevermind, retard moment.

Sorry if this has been brought up before... Has anyone thought much about what some of the datapads say? There are a lot of references to the numbers and symbols changing and to 'them' listening. Datapad 16 seems to be a clue:

"if you ta1k about the num6ers and symbols they know tHat you Are talking and they make our whoLe wOrld change..."

Most of the numbers and symbols are during the loading screens. The exception to this seems to be during the credits after the ending. I wonder if there is some kind of voice recognition that could make the 'Lone Wolf' level change.

From the moment Bob's birth-cord was cut, every girl's hymen has belonged to him.

There must have been a dildo in that Wii control they found
For when they shoved it up his ass, he began to walk around, aaand
Chad Warden the fanboy, was as ABAP as can be
But the -blam!-es say, that he was mad -blam!-, and talked -blam!- on PS3

This is win!

In my thread in the group, we have confirmed 3 differant BoB's on Nightfall. One at the begining, one where you first fight with/protect the Miltia, and one near the Covie Jammer.

There's a theory going around that the AI described in the data pads "erase" people (specificly ONI officials) that find Forerunner info/artifacts. That's probably what that's reffering to, but again, that's just a small part of a theory, and theory's are never positively true...

The datapads talk about finding the forerunner objects HALO. They discuss finding the path to it and erasing other people who know about it (and aren't supposed to) as mentioned by bjb yo before.

This all correlates with Halsey telling your squad that Cortana is the custodian of that information: the location of halo.

Realize that in the era of this story (Reach's particular story) no one knows the truth about halo yet. They still think that its a weapon the covenant are trying to find and they want to get to it first.

I've spotted a BOB on Nightfall.

Well, it's not listed in the first post, but it's so easy to find that it surely has been found before. It's on the Waterfront where you meet the smugglers.

That BOB spawns on top of one of one of the buildings, I've never seen him spawn anywhere else. It's pretty weird actually, because he's ALWAYS there, while other BOBs tend to spawn in a different place each time.

This is where he appears, you can spot him as soon as you enter that area.

He'll then jump off the roof and that's where you're likely to spot him.

Has anyone on the package tried getting the banshees then destorying the anti air craft guns though? they become invincible.

But if you destorys the guns and then getting banshees i think it works then.

Well, I killed 27.

If you get to a previous checkpoint, the BOB respawns, and you can kill him again. Considering you died 43 times, that might explain how you killed 2.

The BOB that spawns on the Covenant Corvette. It Spawned with a Plasma Rifle for me, not a Concussion Rifle.
