That's not going to happen. Microsoft and Bungie split on October 2007 making a PC version of the game impossible to happen.

Let's not. Want Halo 3? Get an Xbox 360. If you can afford a PC that'd be capable to run Halo 3, then you can afford a 360.

BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

If Microsoft want to compete with other companies on PC games they will have to make a Halo 3 for PC.

It's a shame they never made any Halo games cross-platform, It would've given me more of a reason to buy the PC version as well as the Xbox 360 version.

Pretty much Microsoft has won everyone over to "xbox 360", even me, but I won't ever leave out the possibility of a PC version.

I will always know how better a PC version of Halo 3 or Reach can be.

Are you Joking?,The PC Beats the Xbox 360 in terms of Graphics Capabilities by Lightyears,And is Continuing to become More Powerful Every 1 or 2 Years.

If Halo 3 Was on PC,it Would need a Major Graphics upgrade just to be Acceptable in the PC Market,Super High-res Textures,Native 1080p and 16xAA/ AF is needed.

ATI has very cheap offerings for DX11 GPU, note that these are cheaper than Xbox 360 themselves.

Xbox 360 uses a modified DX9 with DX 11's Tessellation, so upgrading a Halo 3 game for PC to use all DX 11 features would be great.

It would also be clever to make preset graphic options within the game, to use "Xbox 360" settings, or custom PC settings. :D

Considering the Xbox 360 is 5 years old, it would be best Halo 3 or Halo Reach were made for PC, as of now hardware is fully capable of over-powering the Xbox 360, we've even got Windows 7 :D

I am interested in Bungie's latest IP, which will be on PC aswell, which means I don't need to buy it for console. :P

PC Graphics Defeated the Xbox 360 by Lightyears Back in 2007 With "Crysis",Maybe even in 2006.

And DX11 Wasn't out until September....or,Well i forgot,But it was Sometime in 2009.
So How would they Put in DX11 Features 4 Years Earlier?

It's Microsoft, they made it, I have no idea why they did that. :/
It was only one feature from DX11, not the whole thing, as it was still in the making.

I know about Crysis beating console's ass, I'm talking about DX11 GPUs being cheap to buy.

That Does not make Sense at All,DirectX11 Did not even Exist back in 2005 When the Xbox 360 Launched.

DirectX11 Was Created with Windows 7,and We all know that did not Come out Before 2005.

ok, stop now, I don't want to explain that it was Nvidia's fault, that Microsoft had to cut back on DX features and put them into later versions, tessellation is now a DX11 feature, it was going to be a DX10.

Subject back onto Halo 3 PC.

(Bungie > 343i)

343 Industries could port it over to Windows. I'd love for it to be released on PC as long as it's done right. Edit: DX 11 effects on the Xbox 360 are software produced. Check out CryEngine 3 on Xbox 360 it uses many of the current DX 11 features.

You have to think, was there any care for Halo 2?
Halo 2 PC was a ginea pig to test out their new service, they never once thought about being better than Halo 1 PC.

Looking at the H2EK is proof enough, they didn't plan this game to sell well.

HiredGun were a bunch of noobs who knew nothing of Halo, and that is how they -blammed!- Halo 2 PC up, to think the same would happen to Halo 3/Reach PC would be very stupid, especially with 343 Industries being main point of interest, which also has some Bungie employees, who would know what to do.

Look at Halo 3 or Halo Reach, the co-op, multiplayer, forge and theater modes are enough to keep non-modders or advanced map makers busy for a long time.

If there were stuff removed because of limits to console hardware, it would be cool to bring them back for the PC version, like the Vortex equipment, smoke grenades, re-optimize the theater, more memory calls for more efficient theater for campaign and multiplayer :D

I would be excited if Halo IP can compete with Garry's mod. xDDDD

DX 10 and DX 11 aren't possible for the 360. The 360 doesn't have the correct hardware to actually run it.

DX 11 needs a tessellations processing unit for the tessellations that DX11 supports, and the 360 doesn't have that. The PS3 and the 360 have VERY stripped down graphics cards that are about the same power as the 7800 series 5 Years ago (Almost 6 Years). They don't support DX10 or DX11.

And thats Why Crysis 2 Has to be Severly Dumbed Down for Consoles.

But back on the Topic of Halo 3/Reach for PC,it's a No-Brainer,The Graphics Capabilities on the PC are Lightyears Ahead of Consoles and it is Upgrading Every 1 or 2 Years.

Halo 3 Would need: Super High-Res Textures,16xAA/AF,Improved Models and Dedicated servers (Perhaps Cross-Platform Support?)

And Halo:Reach would need the Same things.

May i Suggest Gearbox Software and 343 Industries Handle the PC Versions of both Games?

Direct X 10 and 11 features are possible on the Xbox 360 through software reproduction. The GPU in the Xbox 360 is based on the Radeon HD 4000 series, which is much stronger than the GeForce 7800. Halo 2 for Windows Vista looks much better than it did on the Xbox. I can only imagine how Halo 3, ODST and Reach would look on a PC.

My mistake. It's based off the R500 series which was manufactured before the Radeon 3000 series. It's basically a X1900. Still a nice graphics chip.
