What new tactics do you think will be brought about by the alterations of the weapons and vehicles? Do you think there will be more sniping depending on the performance of the Covenant Carbine? More CQBs because of dual wielding? Maybe even more use of vehicles such as the ghost and banshee because of their boosting abilities, or the Scorpion because of its heavy armor and ability to quickly take out enemy cover?

I think Halo 2 will probably put people who favor infantry (like me!) much more into the picture because of destructible vehicles. It will make it possible to win a game of CTF even if the opposing team has all of the vehicles because of the target tracking on the rocket launcher. Also, the sniper rifle and battle rifle will be very useful if you are good enough to land a few good shots on the tire of a warthog when it is in motion, which might flip it (I’m not sure how the Halo 2 physics handle a popped tire while the vehicle is in motion).

Shoot them, and win. :)

covie carbine not sniper. I think multiplayer will be more team based (for team games)
I think they're making it harder for snipers. (characteristics of levels, and the new sniper model) I think the game will be more balanced.

That could make for some pretty cinematic gameplay. Imagine driving away from the base in the warthog, then all of a sudden, your tires pop and send you into a roll. You fall out of the warthog, flip it, and get back in just in time to see a guided rocket nail you in the face. (damn you! you have my same avatar!)

It's gonna be much harder to snipe now that theres kick. if you miss the first shot, then you have to start all over again with the aiming.

the target tracking on the rocket launcher on the other hand... thats just gonna put the -blam!- in -blam!-

what if someone managed to nail the barrel of the tank with a rocket? That would leave nothing but a tin can with wheels for the driver, and the sniper could spend as long as he wanted trying to make the tank understand his point of view.

Wouldn’t that only work if the rocket targeted the exact spot that you fired at?

Okay, say you’re aiming at a tank with the rocket, and you want to take out a section of treads. If you fired the rocket at the front left tread when it was locked on, would it aim for that tread, or would it just go for the center of mass?

Yeah, I guess that would make quite a bit of a difference. Imagine aiming at the barrel of the tank, only to have the rocket go strait for the base of the turret and deal hardly any damage.

That’s also assuming that the rocket jock is a good enough shot to nail the barrel.

Sniping will be more useful because the maps have been said to be many times bigger.

You guys are making it sounds like vehicles are -blam!- now. Nope. It still takes multiple hits to destroy a warthog with a rocket launcher. I highly doubt there is anyway you can disable a tank with one rocket.

Well this is probably another thing we have to test for ourselves when we get the game.

I think that would only work if you stood on the tank and shot the barrel point blank or if you shot it with another tank.

Also it would be cool if you could bend the barrel or something like dent it so the charge hits the dented barrel and explodes killing the tank.(probably not in the game but still cool.)

I just hope the sniper doesnt have such slow bullets as to where u can literally be Neo from the matrix and dodge them, when u pull the trigger, it should be .00000000000001 seconds until that bullet hits its target, u dont aim ahead with guns.
