I am very glad that there is downloadable contecnt for halo 2......Ok this is my question. Say, I download a new level for halo 2.....and its awesome....I then want to play this level over system link with my friends (who dont have XBOX LIVE) will the new level transfer to thier xbox's thru the system link and update thier xboxs or are they just stuck for eternity with unupgradable halo 2s?

If the file is small enough you can put it on a memory card, and then copy it to their hard drive

No, you can't no matter the file size. Copy Protection, get it? The content costs money (eventually) and they don't want it circulated for free.

You paid for the subscription, and your friends didn't.

Yeah, actually very few content costs money. Most dowloadable content is 100% free.

what you can do is take your friends xbox put your live account on his, hook it up to the internet and download the content onto his xbox. when your done just take your account back onto your own xbox and he will be ready to go

I hate thinking that I will have halo 2 version 1.021 and my friends will have version 1.000....Can we even play eachother....I mean what if bungie decides to add a new gun or a new playable character....?

Oh really...thats a great Idea Bubbaduck I didnt know I could switch xbox's like that...but if you can that would be awesome....I guess I will just wait and see...it would still be easier if it automaticly updated the unupdated xbox...

you have to install the xbox live thing onto your friends xbox...but that you can get for free i think...then you put your acount on your memory card and then you can load your acount on their xbox...but if you can't get the live service at all then havin acount info is worthless

Just a question here, why the hell won't your friends have LIVE for Halo 2?!? H2 is the main reason they developed it the way they did/developed it at all.
Don't give me that "no broadband access" bs because if you have it, I'm sure they're not lik 100 miles away :P anyway, lol.... just tell their cheap/poor/stupid/lazy asses to get LIVE or they'll never be able to play with you again(even if thats not the case...).

Ok...that helps. But i would still prefer if it would just automaticly transfer through the ethernet cable and update thier xbox. (if it was like this it could spread very fast....one friend gives it to like 5 friends in a halo party and each of them update a few more friends until everyone has the new content.) BUNGIE MAKE THIS HAPPEN....everyone wants to have new content.....not just xbox live subscribers...

Some people really dont have brouaband capabitlities at thier house....I cant get regular cable or DSL where I live but I am getting a local wireless service where I connect at 1500kbs + and have pings around 100ms (perfect for xbox live) and my friends are stuck with dialup...so there is no way they can get live.

Well, the problem is, too many gamers live in the flunkin boonies where they barely run electricity... lol. Seriously though, have people heard of civilization? It only started like 500,000(uh, ?) years ago.....
