1. It's not rumor, it's fact.
2. Should be cool, but it doesn't really matter, I'll kill you either way.

I think it is going to be bad ass being on the moon defending the lunar base in a low gravity environment. Think about slow motion bullets and freakin high and long ass jumps!

It won't be slow motion bullets, the only affect being on the moon could have on bullets is making them more accurate, since gravity isn't pulling them down as much. Low gravity doesn't slow down time however.

The moon level(s) should be sweet however, and I can't wait to see the MP level(s) based off it (them).

u right if anything, with less atmosphere, it would go faster
Something else though is that i read something in an Xbox magizine about playing underwater but it was a very small section. But it said that bullets underwater sound awesome.

I think it was like june 2003 way back there. It was one of the things at the very bottom in the HALO 2 section.

Not necessarily Earth's moon, but a moon nonetheless. Either way, just as good. Count me in.

I think it's already an option, judging by some of the GI screenies. Not for sure, they could just be jumping from really high.

Ok I found it.

OXM, June 2003
Pg 25: "UNDERWATER DREAMS: The first time we ever saw Halo (on the PC) it featured realistic underwater physics... Will sea be added to land and air? Bungie won't say a word, but we can still dream. Glug."

Pg 30: "GLUG: Mike Salmon trickily asked Bungie's sound department what bullets sounded like underwater. They said "awesome," then got chastised for saying to much."

Considering you could go underwater in the original Halo this isn't saying much. Bungie is trying to include both sound and visuals for every possible situation, even if it's not where we're meant to go. I also hope they wouldn't make any big sections requiring you to go underwater, there would be no point and could ruin the level and downgrade the game (just look at Ninja Gaiden). Being in the middle of a narrow river you were crossing could be cool, but anything more than that would be pointless.

You are definately right, a whole level underwater would suck and be pointless, why would the MC be underwater when there is so much covenant to destroy?

Good Researching...:)

one thing that excites me about a fight on the moon would be seeing the earth coming up over the lunar horizon, imagine what a sight that would be.
