WHO ARE WE?!

  • 11.20.2010 9:57 AM PDT

I hope everyone that complains about this and says "I'll go play a different game" does. I loved watching the total number of plays drop at least half when Black Ops came out. If all you want to do is keep punishing the player for doing well, I am sure you lose more of your fan base. People will go "Bungie made that game, forget that." The "Credit Ecosystem" would only matter if credits could actually buy some kind of ability. Everything is cosmetic, which means having a cap makes no since. If I want to have my armor look exactly how I want, I should be allowed to. Having inclement weather doesn't do anything but make someone easier to spot on the map. If you want to make up rules for no real reason, at least tell people about them. People should have to search the forums when they get a random message.

First, learn to spell.

Second, if you are consistently hitting the cR cap you are playing too much.

My friend and I played for over 3 hours today (which is much more than I usual), and I "earned" about 40K+. There is no reason you should be hitting the cap everyday.

Before you can say it:
I'm not the greatest at Reach, but I'm pretty good ( I even got a perfection today) so don't go saying, "you just suck that's why you don't earn as many cRs as me!!!"

  • 11.20.2010 7:21 PM PDT

firstly no one should be telling anyone what they shuld and shouldnt be doing... just because you dont hit the daily cap daily by chice doesnt mean someone who does "has no life"

they're spending their time ranking up as fast as possible, to max out, so when all the god stuff is added into reach, they wnt worry about thier looks cause they already look good.

and what they achomplish in 4 months you'll see yourself still trying to achomplish in 2 years. at the release of a new halo game.

also. i dont think anyone has answered the posters initial question.

How long is the credit limit for?
the answer: the credit limit is not on a '24 hour' reset, but rather ur daily credit count is reset at 11 p.m pacific.

also note that your daily arena rating is reset at 3 a.m pacific
and daily challenges are reset at 4 a.m pacific.

I've been hitting the cap almost every day now for the past week. Being that I'm a higher rank, I'm earning anywhere from 1200 to 2000 credits per game, not including challenges. These stack up VERY fast. Considering that the jackpots even count towards the credit limit (Bungie couldn't even get THAT right!), you hit it even faster.

  • 11.20.2010 7:36 PM PDT

Bottom-line is we're simply talking about earning credits...not the ability to play the game.

Does it royally suck that I reached the cap JUST as I got today's Shootin' and Lootin' Challenge worth 3000cr? Sure.
Can I still play the game just as I did before? Yup.

It's not like they lock you out after reaching this cap...you just can't earn any more credits.

I don't think it's a big deal...it helped me realize that I need to actually get out of the house and do some stuff tonight...

Thanks for making a bada$$ game, Bungie.

Satan OScillate My Metallic SOnataS

You only get banned if you manipulate the cr system? I beg to differ. My little brothers account is the only X-Box live account him and his roommates have to play on. So 3-4 different people play on his account every day. His cr cap was reached for 12 days straight and he was banned and reset, his console was also banned from earning crs for 2 weeks. Ive been searching through his games record on his stats game by game. He has ALOT of games on his record to go through. I can find nothing that seems out of place or suspicious. No apparant group boosting, no quitting, no series of suspiciously short games, or rampant fishey cr earnings. The only thing I can see is he reached his cr cap for 12 days straight and he still played more games on those days after he reached his cap. So before you go reaching your cap for days on end I recommend we get some more info and feedback to see what other poeple have found out. AND once Ive gone over his entire record game by game Ill post his gamertag name and everyone can check it out and see what conclusions you all come to.

just as an FYI. If your primary playlist is Big Team Battle, you'll earn 1500-2500 points per game. Thats 30 games before you hit the credit limit, which really isn't that much. Video games are about entertainment, and if thats what entertains a person guess what they are going to do? Getting a perfection generally means you didn't contribute to a game because you hid from death constantly. Might be another reason you aren't earning those credits :).

Hello friends,

The Online Credit Limit is a daily cap on Credit earn - it does reset so come tomorrow you can continue your earnapalooza.

We've seen other systems come and go where rampant abuse of progression systems has devalued the online ecosystem and the Online Credit Limit is just one of many countermeasures against these activities.

Actually playing your favorite gametype or checkpoint in Reach isn't going to get you banned, but it may get you to the cap faster.

Thanks,
-luke

phew!
i was thinking for a moment it would take ages to start earning as i never got a message saying that my limit was reached so i was starting to worry!

  • 11.21.2010 12:17 PM PDT

So 300 posts later and I still don't know what the actual cap is and when it actually resets. Normally I don't care, because I never play that much at a time, but this weekend I binged (so please don't tell me to go get some fresh air! :-)

I know for a fact the limit doesn't reset at 1 am. I turned off my box at 1:15 last night and after playing only 2 games today I was told I hit my limit. Over the past 24 hours I have prob earned 110K. So I know 60K is not the limit.

So to satisfy my curiosity, what it the limit? Daily? Weekly? And is there a certain time of day it resets? Or simply a 24 hour time period? I really don't care that a cap exists, but it'd be nice to know in case my Halo addiction gets the better of me again some weekend!

While its barried some where in all the posts. I am quite positive the credit limit is 60k.

  • 11.21.2010 6:36 PM PDT

I completely agree, nothing actually improves your chances of winning, so why limit it?
As for the people who enjoy the cap, they just don't want some kid playing 18 hours a day to get something they want - Which is extremely immature, let them have no life and get reclaimer first, who cares? Is it really a big deal?
At Commander Grade 2 I haven't reached the cap up until now. I might be wrong, but im pretty sure I barely got 50k. The credit limit might still let you continue playing, but you play knowing you aren't getting all of what you normally earn, so its a normal reaction to not want to play anymore. Logical or not, this will cause plenty of the 'hardcore players' to quit, and play a game they CAN excel in faster than everyone else, because thats how they have fun - They play more to get more, that should be their choice.
If you're intimidated by the people who farm credits, then you're complaining alot more, versus the people who are complaining about the credit cap. I say grow up and let them have their fun, it shouldn't effect you at all, its like in grade school a kid gets a higher grade than you because he spent more time on the assignment. Its childish to want to stop them so you feel like you aren't behind.
All in all, its a game, and Bungie should work to make the consumers/players have more fun - setting a cap causes anyone who wanted to keep playing feel the need to quit, as they aren't getting the same progress as they were earlier.

Exactly, I agree with Church51.

I just googled Reach credit cap & found this thread cause my mate just sent me a message that he can't earn anymore cR today, it just gives him 0.

It definitely ruins the fun & I was planning to play some TS or Swat with my bro & my mate, but it kinda ruins it when he can't earn/enjoy himself so were boycotting Halo night tonight.

I'm off to play Kinect & everyone else will do whatever.

Thanks a lot Bungie. Real mature.

You don't have to be a kid to want to rank up & enjoy customising your Halo character be it Spartan or Elite. Get a grip.

QUESTION (please answer)

I read the posts & people are getting 50k creds a day?! I reached my credit cap @ 10k...

If I rank up will my cap increase? If so, does anyone know by how much..? & every 24 hours my cap will reset?

(yes, I just bought this game. & LOVING IT. Campaign is sooo fun, but these complaints about bans worry me... I'm an offline player btw.)

(bungie should really explain this system if they're going to make us abide by it...)

Thanks in advance!

Sadly i find this to be ridiculous that Bungie decides to put such a low credit limit cap of 60 thousand each day. It bugs me that everytime i play i recieve 2000++ credits each game, i complete all of the challenge (without credit farming) and i still reach my credit limit max in 5 to 8 hours. This is ridiculous that while i play i am earning no credits becuase of such a low cap. I feel that the cap should be higher because it seems as though even legit users continue to reach credit limit cap each and everyday as they get higher in rank. Credit limit should be 90 thousand. Because from what ive been hearing everytime people are reaching the credit limit cap they just stop playing, becuase whats the point in playing a game that bungie doesnt want you to earn points for anymore? i mean seriously raise the cap a bit so people can continue to enjoy the game. 90 thousand isnt that much higher and its a more realistic number as a cap so that people cant reach it every day they play. im tired of getting penalized for playing normally by bungie!! its out right ridiculous that i pay to play and get nothing out of it once i reach my cap.

  • 11.23.2010 10:29 AM PDT

agreed, if they are going to make a cap, they should make it impossible to get in one day playing normally. 60 thousand credit limit is ridiculous. i reach the credit limit each day i play (and i dont even have to boost). after i reach the limit, whats the point in playing? i just turn my xbox off because its no fun after that point.

Credit Limit is at 60k. I hit it at least 4 times a week. There is no Weekly cap. The cap resets for me at 12 am everyday central time.

Also 60k is too low of a cap. I can usually hit it in about 4-5 hours. Which is just enough time when I get off work. However days that I have off, I would like to earn more than 60k.

Yes I have a life. Yes I go outside so everyone who thinks they know me, you do not.

How many cR are you earning in each FF game?
At a Grade 4 General I usually get around 4000-4300 if I get no commendations or challenges. I get 2643 every game for game completion. Wondering what it would be for a Field Marshall.

As you increase in rank your credit earnings increase aswell. which means less time before you hit that cap. i am not sure if the cap increases as your rank does but all i know is im tired of hitting the cap limit everyday when i get home from work to play for a bit. i cant even play for more than 5 hours before hitting this ridiculously low cap. They need to bring back games won to determine rank. this credit idea is totally bogus.

PLEASE ANSWER...

I see everyone getting 60 000 creds a day! I can only get up to about 10 000 than I cannot get anymore...

Do I need to rank up to increase my credcap?

(ranking up is near impossible too now, I get like 50 points per firefight game) (im offline player btw)

Actually, with this current cap, it will take about two years to reach the highest rank. Assuming the cap is hit every day for those two years.

  • 11.23.2010 1:24 PM PDT

wow that's lame... so because i refuse to pay for an internet connection i already have i get less of the game? that's bull-blam!-... (at least i bought reach for $15 used haha)

so if i spend all my credits now, i will be stuck at 0? it doesnt reset for offliners? :/
